The opening at the top side.

The bag top end opening was not sturdily functional, use to gape resulting - with the materials coming out / popping up - though I had to reset my entire packing that no small articles from my bag get lost.

Hello Sridhar

Thank you for your valuable review. Forclaz 60L Backpack has a string to close from the top and needs to be heightened properly if any small objects are kept at top. However we understand your concern and we have tried to resolve this in our new Travel Backpacks which has zip system at the top to avoid such issues. You can explore the new Travel Backpack 60 L here : https://www.decathlon.in/p/8554567_backpack-travel-100-60-litres-camel.html

Composition

Main fabric

  • 100% Polyester cationic

Lining

  • 100% Polyester cationic

How to pack a backpack?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavier gear (tent, stove, food) closest to your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent goes under the backpack if it doesn't fit inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, distribute the smaller items that you will need during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc.). Hydration packs should be placed in the compartment provided along the back.

How to adjust the height of your backpack?

Place the adjustment system at the height you think is correct, then adjust the backpack (see. "How to adjust your backpack"). With the belt on the pelvis, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders and the load adjuster straps (sometimes also height-adjustable) at an angle of around 45° (they should never be horizontal or vertical). If during fitting, the back seems too short or too long, readjust it and try again, until it feels absolutely right.

How to adjust your backpack?

First, loosen all the straps (shoulder straps, belt, load adjuster straps). Put the backpack on. For backpacks with a capacity of 13 gal or more, place the hip belt correctly (it should sit over the pelvis) and tighten it. For smaller backpacks, position the belt around your waist. Tighten the shoulder straps. Finally, adjust the load adjuster straps to suit you.

Environmental measurements

Decathlon has decided to inform you of the environmental impact of its hiking backpacks over their entire lifespan. This work follows an experiment that began in July 2011 with the French Ministry of Ecology. The scores, which range from A to E, are awarded based on a comparison between Quechua backpacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale

How is backpack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. We then empty the balls into a graduated container to measure the equivalent volume in liters within a few percentage points. The net weight is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.

10-year warranty conditions

The warranty covers any defects/faults with the backpack, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid with the product and the sales receipt. If the product is under warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged for free. This commercial warranty does not affect any statutory rights that are applicable in the country of purchase.

Product testing

All our backpacks are tested in the field by users who represent the target market under the same conditions as you would encounter in use. In particular, our "Mission Tests" bring together the product manager with people who have no affiliation to QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.

Storage instructions

store your bag in a dry place.

Care instructions

To ensure materials retain their properties (especially waterproofing), we recommend you do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry-clean, or bleach your backpack. Do not iron. To clean your backpack by hand, use warm soapy water and a brush if needed. After a few years of use, you should renew the water repellent properties of the fabric using a waterproofing spray.
