Expensive

Design of the bag is poor, weight is not distributed well.

Excellent and spacious.

The backpack is built to give unbelievable balanced support. Very comfortable when you carry it for less than 7 hours. After that I started to feel a numbness in my left hand. Otherwise A great product for a very comfortable trek.

Ideal Backpack for 6-7 Days Trek

I have used this backpack for more than 5 treks ( average 6-7 days). I needed a backpack to fir properly. It has a great height adjustment feature. look wise its amazing product. water bottle holder is unique, very easy to take and put it back while trekking in the mountains. I kept my sleeping bag, mattress, tent, 2 pair of cloths, sandals, 2 water bottles, First Aid Kit, Fruits in this. I usually get blisters on my shoulders, thanks to this backpack, after 4 years I found a perfect fit & best support.

Average product

This product is good for casual hiking/Trekking (3-5 days) but not worth for professional trekking (Long treks). if weight exceeds more than 10-12 kgs, shoulder straps don't give the full comfort on your shoulders during the long hikes(8-10 hrs a day) after all the adjustments of bag. As per my experience after using this product for 4 weeks during exploratory treks in Uttaranchal, i feel that Shoulder straps should be better for such kind of professional trekking bags for greater comfort, rest all the things are good. Thanks

Costuras poco eficaces

Mochila utilizada intensivamente (camino Santiago).

Cordialement,

Backpack technical tests.

We conduct laboratory tests to validate the components:fabrics, buckles, straps, foam padding, zippers, etc. E.g. for a fabric:resistance to abrasion and tearing, color fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. A test is conducted on the finished product replicating the accelerated wear to the bag over a number of years to check the strength of the assemblies. The bag is weighted and placed on a dummy that reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.

10-year technical partnership warranty

The Strenfit Component Brand, a FORCLAZ partner for the research and validation of its components and assemblies, has carried out tests simulating the aging of backpacks. These tests are conducted on the components, seams and finished product. The results of these tests are used by Forclaz and Strenfit to guarantee the bags for 10 years from the purchase date shown on the receipt.

How to pack a backpack?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Near your back, place heavy equipment (tent, stove, food). Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet can be placed under the flap; the tent under the bag if there’s no space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. In the pockets, place small items for the day (sunscreen, map, glasses...). The water bladder can be placed in the compartment generally provided down the back.

How is backpack volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty the balls into a graduated container, which gives us the equivalent volume in liters, with a tolerance of a few percent. The empty weight shown is that of our reference sample. There may be slight variations.

A score for comparing products' environmental impact

The product’s environmental impacts are calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, pants, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Why are our rain covers colored gray?

The gray color is neutral and therefore uses less dye. The component is made of BITON: as a result, the environmental impact of the MT700 50 L is 7.3% less than the former model: symbium access. By using dope-dye for the lining materials, much less water is consumed than with a more brightly colored fabric. It is by taking small measures of this kind that Forclaz is demonstrating its commitment to improve the environmental impact of its products.

Product testing

All our backpacks are tested in use by target users under the same conditions as they would experience in real-life use. In particular, our "Test Missions" bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with DECATHLON to test, improve and validate our products. This specific model was approved by hikers touring Mont Blanc in June 2017.
