Best value for money bike tires

I fitted these to my Riverside 500 Hybrid bike and it transformed it's ride and handling. It is a fast tire which gives you confidence whether you're riding on road or on the trails. It absorbs bumps better due to the thicker side walls. It also made the bike look so much better at the fraction of the cost of other branded tires.

How to measure tire wear

Inspect the tread to measure the wear on your tires and to know when they need replacing. The tread comes into direct contact with the terrain you are cycling on and therefore determines your tire's performance. A tire needs to be changed when the center knobs are worn down to the same height as the side knobs.

How to remove a tire

To remove your tire, first deflate the inner tube until no more air comes out. Once deflated, use a tire lever to remove the tire from the rim.

How to fit a tire

To put the tire back on, place one side of the tire into the rim. Next, inflate your inner tube to approximately 30% before putting it into the tire (inflating it beforehand reduces the risk of pinching the inner tube). Then insert the other side of the tire into the rim, starting on the side opposite the valve. Before inflating the inner tube all the way, check to make sure it isn't pinched between the tire and rim.

How to inflate your tire correctly

Inflate your tire carefully. The recommended pressure is indicated on the side of your tire as well as on its product sheet (available online). Also, before each outing, make sure that your tires are at the correct pressure for your ride.

Tip from the pros

When inflating your tire, be sure to inflate it to the correct pressure for the terrain you will be riding on and especially the weather conditions. When riding in rainy weather, lower the tire pressure to increase the tire's traction. When riding in dry weather, you can increase the pressure for better performance.
