Product Customer Reviews

Exceeded expectations. These do a good to reasonable job of keeping snow out during snowshoeing in the Cascades, no gaiters necessary. Breathability is great. Durability seems good, so far. I would honestly expect to pay ~50% more for similar quality elsewhere. Look no further.
Took them ice climbing and up some alpine routes and they took everything thrown at them. Have a European fit which I liked as it keeps everything Out of the way of crampons. Excellent stretchy fabric that moves with you and kept the water and snow out. Side vents are a little on the small side but still work for the walk days. Haven’t used them for long enough yet to say anything on durability.
Hello Richard,
Thank you for leaving a complete and very helpful review about those pants.
We are really glad that you enjoyed them and their little details designed by our team of expert climbers.
Have fun in the mountains and stay safe!

Great set of pants for hiking. Perfect for any cold weather activities. Low volume, nice suspenders.
Good trouser’s with in build gaiters, which is nice
Used these In Scottish winter and just recently on Gran Paradiso and Mt Blanc ..they seem to be the most popular trousers in the alpine refuges and you can see why .Great quality, design fit etc, tested in the alps .Cheaper than the "big"brands. Worn from Tete Rouss 3400m to summit 4800m and back .No complaints, temperature regulation fine ,braces fit well .
Great products
Excellent value with loads of features and extremely versatile. The nearest rivals are more than twice the price.
I bought these pants a while ago for my husband, and he is absolutely loving them. Sooo comfortable, warm, breathable and easy to clean. He wears them mainly when we go up the mountains here in Scotland. Up at snow level or when really cold and windy. He is 2m tall and skinny - very often when we order the pants long enough, they are far to big arround waist and legs. This ones are just a tiny little bit to wide. Easily fixed with the straps attached.
Light rain just beads off despite only being water resistant. Have kept me warm on days out so far. Love the side vents, gaiters, and braces. Others have commented on how good they look and how they are equal to more expensive brands.
Brilliant kit for Scottish winter mountaineering, even my daughter said I looked cool!
The reviews attest to comfort, durability and value. These features and the price make the Simond Mountaineering Trousers very attractive, however the apparent lack of flexibility between waist size and inseam length cause me to look elsewhere. Perhaps I've missed some important information?
I have had these trousers for a wee while now and they have surpassed my expectations. Warm, wind resistant, water repellent, tough, breathable.....perfect for colder conditions, everything it says on the tin. I would try them on before buying to get the right size.
Bought these for a Introduction to Mountaineering weekend in Aviemore. Day 1: great weather, worn with 3/4 Skins compression shorts underneath and long ski socks. Day 2: Minus 8 Centigrade, 50mph winds last 4 hours. Worn with ordinary undershorts. Bum was a bit numb standing still with back to wind but moving no problem. These thing are VERY WIND RESISTANT and HIGHLY BREATHABLE. VERY COMFORTABLE with nicely fitted high back. Obviously in such conditions I should have had thin tights underneath or an over-trouser but they performed admirably. Truly great piece of kit punch well above their weight both in price and grams. Also perfect for more miserable dog walks. Some minor damage on outside of cuff (outside reinforced area). Not sure what caused it but tough material that resists dog claws so... GET SOME!
Definitely recommend these pants
Bought these is Decathlon in France and wore them for two weeks with over 5000m of touring. Rugged and comfortable. No damage from skis or crampons. Recommended
