Good blades, beware the brake

Generally, these skates are really good value especially for a beginner. I wore through the OEM wheels REALLY fast. I don't do any tricks or braking that would otherwise wear the wheels faster than normal (but I do blade upwards of 30km at a time); they are just a very soft compound wheel. The wheel bearings are super slow even after a break in period. They claim ABEC-7, but they are some of the slowest bearings I've ever come across. Fist is excellent. Sizing seems to be spot on. Several other reviews suggested sizing up a half size so I did that. After a year of use, the foam has worn in, and they are a little roomy now and have the laces as snug as they will go. Now the bad: a new brake is impossible to find. I have been waiting over a year for a brake to be available and now they have even removed it from the website. These skates do not fit any other brands brake so if you are using them in an area where you need a brake be forewarned!

Good and cheap

The skates are really good for the price, but: the wheels wear out quite quickly, which is ok if you could upgrade to harder wheels and here's the sticking point: the screws are so tight that I could only loosen 2, we tried using a longer lever, no chance, the thread would sooner break

I am quite disappointed

Skates as such are very cool. Comfortably. But what's not a tragedy, the wheels are 1x 15km and 1x 20km and the wheels are totally worth writing off! I drive on smooth asphalt and I have never encountered such wear. Too bad they can't upload photos. I'm going to deal with the complaint now, so I'm curious how I'll succeed.

How do they stay comfy and fitted?

The semi-soft boot with 3D mesh is comfortable and stops too much moisture building up inside the skate. The new comfort foam and heel cushioning also make life more pleasant. The cuff (the part of the boot that comes up your leg) is stiff and comes far enough up to hold your ankle in place. Along with the triple fastening system (laces, micro-metric buckle, and strap), it holds your ankle snugly.

Do you need to choose between glide quality and handling?

No, not with Oxelo. Decathlon's FIT500 inline skates glide along really nicely thanks to their aluminium frame (stiffer than a plastic frame transfers the skater's energy very well), ABEC 7 bearings, and new 80mm rubber wheels (80 A hardness to give you more grip and comfort). The combination of the aluminium frame and the 80mm rubber wheels gives you a good balance between pushing and glide quality. The frame can also take 84mm wheels.

How can you maintain/repair your skates?

You can replace parts or repair your skates using the after-sales parts available in store, online and at your local Decathlon store's workshop. The parts you can change are the 80mm 80A or 80mm 84A wheels and the ABEC 7 or ABEC 9 bearings. The brake support is adaptable on both feet.

How can you make your skates last longer?

To extend the lifespan of your skates after skating through water, dust or sand, take the wheels off, dry them and degrease the bearings with a dry cloth.Find our advice and tutorials on our YouTube channel:

How can you make the wheels last longer?

It's normal to switch your wheels around because they don't wear out evenly. The reason? We often skate with our feet sloping slightly inwards when we push off and turn.If you want to stop them wearing out, switch your wheels around (in pairs).

What is the maximum weight for these oxelo fit 500 skates?

These adult skates meet the EN 13843 class A standard (adult inline skate standard). This standard applies to ”Roller sports equipment - inline skates” designed for a person weighing between 20kg and 100kg. This European standard defines the safety requirements and the specifications for the test methods, markings, and information provided by the manufacturer, with the aim of reducing the risk of injury.

How much do the oxelo fit 500 skates weigh?

2.8kg per pair in size 8.5.

How are our products tested?

All of our skates have been lab tested. These tests validate their compliance with the European standards for skates, as well as their resistance to wear.As well as lab tests we do field tests - some measured and others based on the testers' opinions - to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.

Storage instructions

We recommend you keep your inline skates in a dry, cool place. After use do not dry near a naked flame or in direct contact with a heat source.

2 years excluding wear parts (brake pad, wheels and bearings).
