The concept of thermal insulation using neoprene:
By trapping a thin layer of water around the feet, the neoprene boot works in two ways:
1. The trapped water inside the boot gradually warms up
. Heat transfer from the body decreases.
The boot and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.
Neoprene is a closed-cell elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties.
The design of the DG500 dinghy/catamaran neoprene boot is intended for cool and cold weather:
The Tribord DG500 neoprene boots are made of 100% neoprene (thickness: 5mm) to ensure optimal thermal insulation.
All seams are sewn together with strong thread for this particular type of fabric and are glued to prevent water getting through the seams.
A neoprene strip is sewn under the zip to reduce the cooling effects of the water that may get through underneath.

Prior to long-term storage, rinse with fresh water (to remove salt that could deteriorate the neoprene and damage the zips). Dry and store away from sunlight and moisture.
