this racquet is quite a surprise indeed. i dont expect such a user friendly racquet can produce such power and ease at the same time. the sweet spot is big but without sacrifice the control. if you play with big swing, the light weighted frame allow you to swiing with ease and power. if you have a compact swing , you still be able to held up quite firmly with fast pace balls. I played with it for 2 hours trading shots on baseline effortlessly. strongly recommend to coaches and 4.0 or up players.
Very solid and nice racket. Low RA, good control. Especially looking for arm friendly. Best choice. Friends switched this and get rid of Pure Drive. Good top spin.
After reading some reviews thought I should buy TR990 PRO so I went to the store near by (Nolambur).. I asked the seller person (Sathish) about the product he explained me well n said that they don't have the stock ready in Store coz it's a high-end racket n asked me order through Decathlon app n collect it from Store as an option n I did.. Until I receive the product he asked me to have the Demo racket with me.. I played with the DEMO n felt much better that some high-end Brands n I was surprised with the feel n touch... Racket was really excellent... As mentioned Spin>Power it does well... Planning to buy another one r two to switch TR990 PRO as main Rackets n previous ones as backup... Thanks Decathlon n Artengo manufacture to make such high quality racket at reasonable Price....
The racket is really no less than any other professional brand. Packs a lot of power and spin with precision control.
excellent touch & feel easy to use good placement bit a little bit too much power, much suitable for western grip users
good feel but can be designed to swing easier still
I originally purchased this as a racket for my daughter in summer 2018 and it was also going to double up as spare for myself, (a spare to my Pure Drive lite 2018) . Not happy with my hitting recently I decided to swapped over to the Artengo TR990 and really like it, so Its become my racket of choice, hence I purchased another one, so I have a TR 990 and no family squabbling over it ;-) I would highly recommend this racket
I bought this asa back up for my Babolat but have now moved over to the Artengo full time. Very pleased.
Even though many of us tennis equipment junkies and tennis lovers know the brand Artengo, many won't. Do not be put off because this racquet is a gem, and plays better than most major household name company racquets which I won't mention. Artengo uses an OEM original equipment manufacturer like everyone else, so don't worry about them being too different, except for where it counts, and that is quality! The frame is beautifully constructed and I believe they have foam in the hoop like their other rmodel the tr960, which is why they play more heavier than the specs listed, but that is a good thing. This racquet is just addictive, with controllable power. It plays somewhat like a mixture of an Extreme pro, APD, and a pure drive, but with the comfort and playability of an old school frame. The stiffness rating feels like 63 and not 68, the soft feel lives up to it's name. I have been using 16g poly strings to further add control and enhance spin and power. The spin is insane, and serves will get you easy points. Volleys are fantastic, and the frame itself is very very stable. If anyone is curious i measured the beam width (because artengo do not list this spec) it's 24-23-22 beam, 24mm tip, 23mm sides, 22mm throat/handle I just wish they sold grommets /bumper replacement. Will this be an option Decathlon?
I play tennis for 15 years and always played with top of the range HEAD (played with around 8 different racquets) but this racquet brings me the perfect balance between power and control ! Artengo went the extra mile on the development of it and the result is spectacular and also really good looking !
I was in Paris and picked up this racket on a whim to test because Oliver Marat plays with it. While I hit great with it, felt it was too stiff. When I got back to the states I decided to try it with a softer string and also the Decathlon string at a lower tension. All I can say is Wow! Everyone says my game has elevated. Much heavier and powerful groundstrokes. Everything is better. A 4.0 who is now beating 4.5s in dubs. The challenge has been getting more of the racquet since Decathlon does not ship outside of California. Problem solved: I ship to a friend that lives in Cali who then ships to me. Well worth the extra cost!!! I've purchased 7 because I am confident this will be the last racquet I play with! I am always the only one with this racquet. My secret weapon!
At first I was a little skeptical about this racket, as the brand is low profile compared to Head/Babolat/Wilson/Yonex. I bought it because it has good specs and nice cosmetic. If given a blind test I would believe this racket is Babolat's pure drive. Love the serve and easy power and spin. I strung it with Artengo's mulitifliment (54 lbs). Perhaps poly string would be better to tame its power. It does feels a little heavier to swing due to head heavy design. Only dislike is the quality of butt cap and bumper, it could be better.

10.6 oz To give you an idea: - Less than 9 oz: lightweight rackets, for comfort and easy handling. - 9 to 10.4 oz: classic rackets (intermediate) for versatility. - 10.6 to 11 oz: rackets for players who already have good technique and need more powerful strokes and precision. - 11.1 oz: rackets for top-level competitors.
70 Ra Stiff frame: > 64 – 66 RA. Soft frame: < 64 – 66 RA. The stiffer the frame, the shorter the contact time: you lose some control but gain in power.
An inertia of 300 prevents the frame from distorting during fast swings, delivering power and precision. Further information: The higher the inertia, the harder the racket is to maneuver, but the greater the power.
The Spin Concept technology at the racket grommets improves cord elasticity at the time of ball impact, helping to increase spin.
The High Modulus Carbon, a high-quality graphite, helps with ball control.
