Product Customer Reviews

very comfortable. grip is high quality. strings are good (the stencil is gone in less than 30mins though). This is a great racket for its price.
Spin is good, but not much power; too much vibration; paint of logo on string peels off at the first play; Disappointing return poly.
The racquet has exceeded my expectations with it’s playability and quality. I just added a leather grip and strung it with a good poly and it plays beautifully with a good swing weight so table as well. Very nicely done overall and i bought two more right away. Decathlon has to make spare grommets available. That is a very basic thing they messed up on
I was in Paris and picked up this racket on a whim to test because Oliver Marat plays with it. While I hit great with it, felt it was too stiff. When I got back to the states I decided to try it with a softer string and also the Decathlon string at a lower tension. All I can say is Wow! Everyone says my game has elevated. Much heavier and powerful groundstrokes. Everything is better. A 4.0 who is now beating 4.5s in dubs. The challenge has been getting more of the racquet since Decathlon does not ship outside of California. Problem solved: I ship to a friend that lives in Cali who then ships to me. Well worth the extra cost!!! I've purchased 7 because I am confident this will be the last racquet I play with! I am always the only one with this racquet. My secret weapon!
I get a lot of power and spin with this excellent racquet.
Even though many of us tennis equipment junkies and tennis lovers know the brand Artengo, many won't. Do not be put off because this racquet is a gem, and plays better than most major household name company racquets which I won't mention. Artengo uses an OEM original equipment manufacturer like everyone else, so don't worry about them being too different, except for where it counts, and that is quality! The frame is beautifully constructed and I believe they have foam in the hoop like their other rmodel the tr960, which is why they play more heavier than the specs listed, but that is a good thing. This racquet is just addictive, with controllable power. It plays somewhat like a mixture of an Extreme pro, APD, and a pure drive, but with the comfort and playability of an old school frame. The stiffness rating feels like 63 and not 68, the soft feel lives up to it's name. I have been using 16g poly strings to further add control and enhance spin and power. The spin is insane, and serves will get you easy points. Volleys are fantastic, and the frame itself is very very stable. If anyone is curious i measured the beam width (because artengo do not list this spec) it's 24-23-22 beam, 24mm tip, 23mm sides, 22mm throat/handle I just wish they sold grommets /bumper replacement. Will this be an option Decathlon?
Great racquet & once you change string to your own fav , plays as good as any high end competitor racquets Not to mention amazing value . Once I bought first one , I end up ordering 2 extra .
Good product for the price was able to buy 2 units for the price of one Babolat, Wilson, Head, etc...
Hi Sylvain,
Thank you very much for your feedback!
We are happy that the price is to your satisfaction.
We will be happy to see you again.
Best regards,
Chloé, Team fitness
A superb racket for the price. Great manoeuvrability, great feel. I won’t be going back to far more expensive “known brands” I am very impressed. Though I would like to know the strings and the gauge I had on the racket I bought. (Maybe artengo 990, 1.27 poly or 1.3?)
Hello Cefyn,
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a feedback on the tennis racket your purchased. The original string put in the TR990 Pro is a 1.25 mm black polyester string.
Kinds regards,
Marine
I’ll improve the experience with shock absorber but a really good racket at competitive price
Good Morning and thank you for your review. I'm glad you're enjoying your new racket. We have a range of shock absorbers in store, please come and see us again & we can help you to choose one. Thanks :)
Andy
I originally purchased this as a racket for my daughter in summer 2018 and it was also going to double up as spare for myself, (a spare to my Pure Drive lite 2018) . Not happy with my hitting recently I decided to swapped over to the Artengo TR990 and really like it, so Its become my racket of choice, hence I purchased another one, so I have a TR 990 and no family squabbling over it ;-) I would highly recommend this racket
I bought this asa back up for my Babolat but have now moved over to the Artengo full time. Very pleased.
I play tennis for 15 years and always played with top of the range HEAD (played with around 8 different racquets) but this racquet brings me the perfect balance between power and control ! Artengo went the extra mile on the development of it and the result is spectacular and also really good looking !
this racquet is quite a surprise indeed. i dont expect such a user friendly racquet can produce such power and ease at the same time. the sweet spot is big but without sacrifice the control. if you play with big swing, the light weighted frame allow you to swiing with ease and power. if you have a compact swing , you still be able to held up quite firmly with fast pace balls. I played with it for 2 hours trading shots on baseline effortlessly. strongly recommend to coaches and 4.0 or up players.
Very solid and nice racket. Low RA, good control. Especially looking for arm friendly. Best choice. Friends switched this and get rid of Pure Drive. Good top spin.
