Product Customer Reviews

I took this tent out for 3 nights, 4 days recently. The winds I experienced were 20-30mph sustained with gusts up to 45mph for the majority of the 4-day trip. There was a period of heavy wind-driven rain which lasted 8 hours. Not a drop of water got through into the living space. There was no condensation at all on the inner material throughout the entire trip. I experienced snow and low temps of 23f, highs of around 50. This is an amazing tent for the price. My only complaint is its really a 1 person tent though advertised as 2-man. I'm 6'2" and had to corner to corner my matress to fit properly. This tent took a beating for days and held up nicely. Its easy to set up, easy to stake and tie out, and fits in the bag easily. I traded the heavy steel stakes for lighter aluminum. I would recommend this tent as a great deal for the price. After the beating I went through this past trip I would say this tent is very very tough and definitely waterproof.
Great small tent
Easy to put up and weather proof.
Product is good and affordable
This tent does not have enough ventilation for 2 people. If it rains choose one: fresh air or being dry.
This tent is flipping steady as a rock! Although it was challenged with a strong wind surge, bending it towards a 45 degrees angle during 2am in the morning, it stood as steady as a solid pyramid. Quality checked and ticked! Get it!
The only critism I have is that its not clear on where to put the string and pegs.
I am very pleased with the quality of this tent. As soon as I unpacked it and set it up it became apparent that the description that Decathlon have given is not just sales hype but is a genuinely accurate assessment of the quality of the product and it's features. It looks and feels like a quality product. The pockets that the poles slide in to on each corner of the inner tent are strong and well made and the poles are reasonable quality for the price. The tent fly sheet has a decent water proof rating as well. The ventilation aspects have been well thought out as well. The ground sheet is good quality as well. I noticed on the information about the tent it said that Decathlon tents are tested as well. Based on the quality of this tent that genuinely does seem to be the case. Decathlon do very much seem to be an outlet that have a modus operandi of substance over style , not that the products aren't stylish though but i'm just saying that the quality of the products seems genuinely important to them. I'm an experienced hiker and wild camper and I've used higher end tents but this tent of less than £30.00 stands up very well in comparison to my more expensive tents. It's a great classic dome tent. Easy to set up , nice and roomy. Seriously for less than £30.00 there's nothing not to like. A great advert for Decathlon.
Good
It is excellent, I used in Scotland, I went for camping few times, was raining a lot, windy and everything was fine. cheaper and good tent.
Bought this tent from the Telford store, we use it as a store room for chairs and table and BBQ when using our campervan. Not let any water in as yet, not easy to erect in strong winds but when up its sturdy, Not slept in it as yet.
As with all Decathlon products this is well made easy to use and looks great. Pegs are a little cheep but I always buy the stronger ones anyway. My son is 6'3 and he can lay out in it. It is a separate fly sheet so does not condensate on inner tent. Value for money. good in wind and waterproof which is kind of important with a tent.
Just enough room for 2
Thank you for your review Liz.
Lucia
Very easy to carry and put up
OK I get I should have paid more but that doesn’t justify the inaccurate photos and descriptions used on the website. Other reviewers pointed out the inaccurate photos used, some months ago, yet they remain in place. Anyway here’s the deal…. ..Firstly, it is only realistically useable as a one-person tent. And then only if you are less than 5ft 10ins and sleep diagonally across. Design fault too in that there needs to be another flysheet loop, in the middle at the back. (This is one of the errors in the photos, where there is such a hole). I found putting it up correctly quite hard work, accept that could be down to me but instructions seemed challenging. Useable just, with those points understood.
Additional Product Information
Composition
Main fabric
- 25% Polyethylene low density
- 75% Polyester cationic
Pole
- 100% Fiberglass
Pitching/folding
Classic dome structure: Fit the poles on the inner tent, then attach the flysheet over it. Reverse the process to unpitch. If it is windy, it is advisable to attach the guy ropes that are provided in the tent bag.
Mattress compatibility
We recommend you use the tent with the self-inflating or backpacking mattress measuring 25.6" maximum. We do not recommend the use of inflating mattresses over 2.4" thick in this tent due to the reduction in living space and resistance to condensation.
Ventilation
1 high air vent at the back. Correctly position the lateral tent pegs to maintain a space between the flysheet and the ground all around the tent. The good air circulation between the bedroom and the flysheet will limit the natural phenomenon of condensation.
Waterproofing
All Quechua tents are validated in a laboratory (whole tent under 200 L/m²/h for 4 hours), as well as in the field. (Flysheet coated polyester PU 2000 mm, ground sheet polyethylene 4.2 oz/m², all seams sealed with heat-sealed strips). The presence of a breathing polyester compartment underneath the flysheet avoids contact with condensation water drops that can form on the inside of the flysheet.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly pitched tent with all guy ropes fitted around the tent must remain habitable in wind speeds up to 25 mph near the ground (Force 5).
Environmental benefit: why is your product gray?
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this impact on the environment, we use only 1 mass-dyed thread out of every 2 (Bi-ton), reducing our consumption and our impact on water. So that's why your product is gray.
Warranty / after-sales service
As designers and users who love our playing field, we care about the durability of our products; that is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and pole repairs are available from your Decathlon workshop or on our website, at the following address: https://support.decathlon.fr/camping-bivouac-tp_20718 If you have a problem, have your tent looked at in your nearest Decathlon shop.
