Product Customer Reviews

Very much impressed by the attention to detail and quality of this pack. The materials feel sturdy, and everything from the placement of pockets to the way the top drawstring opens were well thought out. I took this for an overnight hike that was very wet and muddy. It was comfortable to carry and withstood the weather very well. It looks almost new after I just wiped off some of the mud with a damp cloth. My only quibble would be that the rain cover should be detachable. Also the small zip pocket gets in the way of the hydration sleeve. It was quite cool on my hike so I didn’t fully test the ventilation, but I didn’t notice it was particularly hot to carry.
This rucksack has a really well designed frame, back system and hip belt and is a very comfortable all day carry. It is reasonably light in itself but this is less important with rucksacks than how they transfer their fully loaded weight to your body and this one is excellent at that. It has an adequate air gap for your back but with a less pronounced curve holding it away from your body than a lot of rucksacks which helps both the load transfer through the shoulders and stability. It also means the main compartment remains a nice regular boxy shape and easy to fit your kit in. The straps are easy to adjust for a good fit and don't slip. The main fabric seems quite tough and durable but the stretchy material used on some of the external pockets whilst saving weight and working well have scuffed up in one place after a bit of bushwacking. The pockets I find most useful are the top lid pocket which is really big, the large stretchy front pocket and the zipped ones on the hip belt. The slanty side water bottle pockets don't seem very secure but I can manage without them. The compression straps on the side work well and double up for carrying a sleeping mat. Sizewise it is has a noticeably bigger capacity than my 35litre rucksack, doesn't seem to hold any less than my 45litre but is a nicer more compact shape. Almost tardis like.
Used this on a 900km hike, no broken zips or buckles. Good for cabin hiking but too small for camping. A 50l version would be perfect for camping.
Overall a good bag. very comfy. its a shame they don't sell it in a 50L or 60L size. Sadly the rain cover did not fit the bag once it was packed it didn't even come close. The load adjustment straps at the shoulders would slowly work their way loose and need adjustment every couple of miles. For a long dry day hike this would be a perfect bag to carry more than everything you need including a cook system. Due to the rain cover not fitting i did return this item
Very happy with this purchase - needed a c40 litre pack for a walking weekend. Haven’t used in anger yet but feels great
Lots of stretchy pockets and a long zip to quickly access the main compartment
This backpack is really good quality and great value for money, I especially like the angled side pockets for drinks that allow for easy access without having to take the backpack off.
Did lots of research and didn't want to spend a fortune on something that might not be quite right. This ticked every box except the ice-axe loop (which I can fashion myself somehow. So it's light, the smaller size fits me perfectly. I've done two days so far of hill walking in Scotland and this sack has made life so much easier. I particularly like the pole loops and the easy to open hip pockets where I store my phone and snacks. Other features include: - water bladder facility; - pole loop (all sacks should have this - it's such a simple idea) - big zip for easy access to bottom of sack - mesh pocket for stuffing quick access stuff like gloves and hat - side pocket - easy to access water bottle pockets (brilliant, saves taking off your sack) - rain cover The only negatives are: - the lack of ice-axe loop which surprises me as they've thought of everything else. It does have two small loops at the bottom but not big enough for an ice axe however you could easily fit an extra belt to accommodate one. - there is a side pocket only on one side. Not a huge issue as there are so many other places to stuff things but in the interests of symmetry it wouldn't be difficult to put one on both sides - there may of course be a valid reason I've only used it as a day sack so far but I think I'd be able to sling a tent under the sack and use it for wild camping and DofE as long as I wasn't away too long. It really does punch above it's weight. I note other reviews have hinted at it's robustness. I suppose that's the compromise for getting one this light but it's guaranteed for ten years so I can live with that.
It's a big bag. You can put loads of suff in it, strap it to your back and take all the stuff up a hill for the day. It's got different pockets for different things and straps do up quite tight which is good cause it means the bag doesn't fall off. 5 stars!
Strongly built, good looking, intensely useful in carrying luggage. Ideal choice.

10-year warranty / our tests
Quechua’s research and approval partner for its components and assembly has carried out tests reproducing the aging effect of hiking backpacks. These tests were conducted on the components, seams, and finished product. For example, our hiking bag design guarantees 20,000 zipper openings/closings, 10,000 drops etc., equal to 10 years from the date shown on the sales receipt.
10-year warranty / conditions
The warranty covers the defects of the backpack, excluding those resulting from normal wear and improper use. This special 10-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the product and receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country and/or state.
How to pack your backpack
AT THE BOTTOM of the bag, pack your sleeping material, and heavy material nearer the back. Slide your water pocket into the compartment. AT THE TOP of the bag, store your waterproof jacket and fleece within arm’s reach. In the pockets, you can put your sunblock, maps, cap, and sunglasses. Cereal bars or your mobile phone can be stored in the belt pockets for quick access. The straps under the bag can also be used to attach a compact tent.
How much weight can i carry?
We recommend that you never carry more than 25% of your body weight as you risk hurting your back! Even the best bag with perfect adjustments could injure you if too heavy.
How to adjust your backpack
1 - Loosen all the straps: shoulder straps, belt, load-adjustment straps (these are the small straps above the shoulder straps) 2 - Put on the bag. 3 - Close the bag's belt, positioning it at the hips then tighten it until it feels firmly in place 4 - Tighten the bag’s shoulder straps 5 - Tighten the chest strap (not too tight to affect breathing) 6 - Adjust the load-return straps (the bag will cling closely to the shoulders)
How is the volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in liters.
How to care for and wash a backpack?
We recommend hand-washing your backpack. Use soapy, lukewarm water, possibly with a brush, focusing on the areas in contact with the body (shoulder straps, back, waist strap), where you have perspired. This is the best way for the fabric properties to be maintained, in particular the waterproofness. Then rinse well with lukewarm water, leave to dry in a dry place away from direct sunlight (no radiator). Store in a dry place.
