Okay

Haven't tried it under rain yet though I think it is average than its overrated product review. Looks okay and practical with rain but it was not warm even in dry weather.

Love these jackets - staple

I am on my fourth jacket, not because they suck but because I keep giving them away and needing to replace them for myself! These are great and I will always have one. It used to be always black but when they released the blue one I had to have one of those too. They don’t Breathe well so you will sweat in these. But you will be dry if it’s cold… and you’ll be sweaty but dry from rain if it’s hot and wet.

Rain/wind Breaker

I love the jacket. Colour is nice. Easy to stuff in a bag and to throw on when the wind picks up unexpectedly.

And that is all you need! We love the colour as too.

Thank you for the review, Karen.

Light but not as functional

Jacket was light and fit properly. Hood was also good fit, didn’t slide. The issue was that when I went in the rain, water went through the shoulder seams so had to return it to the store. Pretty easy return. I ended up buying other things at the store but still looking for a foldable rain jacket .

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 100.0% Polyethylene Terephtalate ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane

How to maintain the waterproof property of your jacket over time

To maintain good waterproofing over time, the fabric's water-repellent properties must be restored regularly. We recommend doing this every 3 washes or after a dozen uses in the rain. The water-repellent property is easily reactivated by warming the fabric: either in your tumble dryer or with a hairdryer, for example, over a relatively short period. If you are washing it, it must be thoroughly rinsed.

Waterproof rating expressed in mm or schmerbers

We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000 mm can therefore withstand the pressure exerted by a 2,000 mm water column.

Fabric breathability

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its total evaporative resistance (RET) based on the ISO 11092 standard. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. - RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric - 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric - 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric - RET > 20 = little or no breathability

How to choose your waterproof jacket based on your outings and level of exertion

During sports activity, the extent to which we perspire depends on the intensity or the duration of the physical effort. If the breathability of the fabric is not adapted to your type of physical activity, the perspiration vapor condenses inside the jacket. You will feel damp inside—this is not rain coming through but perspiration vapor condensing. You therefore need to choose a rain jacket according to your type of physical activity. This jacket is designed for 2-hour hikes at no more than 3 mph.

Additional recommended products

Wear the Raincut waterproof overpants to protect your lower body as well. You will then have a comprehensive protection system that is very effective against the wind and showers. And, first and foremost: The overpants also benefit from an eco-design approach, with the dope dyeing process (yarn dyed at the source).
