MEN'S WATERPROOF LEATHER HIKING SHOES

For me SH500 X-WARM QUECHUA is top quality!

It has not complied with what was described

Hard boots in the back, when you have been walking for an hour they hurt you. In terms of adherence, it met expectations but in thermal sensation it leaves much to be desired with minus 7 degrees and thermal sock the tips of the fingers remain cold. Regarding the impermeability, what it indicates is fine. In summary, some boots that may be acceptable become boots that you want to take off when you have been active for an hour because they are very hard on the back, causing you damage.

side hard

The side will squeeze the junction of the toes and the soles of the feet, which cannot be worn for a long time, and is suitable for people with narrow feet

they did a great job when hiking even 20km, they do not rub, they are comfortable. They didn't get wet despite the deep snow. They keep the heat very well, even when stationary. I'm impressed.

A boot inspired by nature: the lynx, the snow feline.

In the natural world, animals are naturally equipped to adapt to the conditions of their environment: feathers and fur trap air, providing insulation from the cold or the heat, paws adapted for movement across diverse, demanding, and changing terrains ... This is the Lynx, the real snow king, giving us the inspiration for the design of your boot: large paws, protected and insulated from the cold, and specific pads for easy movement and agility on the snow.

Can you be sure that your boots are warm enough for your winter hikes?

We have chosen an ultra warm lining and high volume encouraging insulation to give you effective protection from the cold. We have tested it in the laboratory and in the field with our user representatives. We checked the temperature up to which it stays comfortable when you're stationary and when you're hiking, as this varies a lot: 21°F when static and 23°F when moving. We also took into account how temperature is felt differently by men and women.

How do your boots protect you from outdoor conditions?

Your boots are designed with leather and a membrane to guarantee waterproofing and breathability. A membrane is a very fine component (5 to 25 micrometers) affixed to the inside of a fabric that prevents water from entering while letting moisture escape. Their high upper with an elastic gaiter provides good protection against the cold and prevents snow from entering, while the midsole gives you perfect insulation. Your feet will be well protected, warm, and dry.

How can i be sure that my boots are 100% waterproof?

We made sure that your boots are waterproof by conducting laboratory tests to simulate hiking with the boots half submerged in water. We also conducted field tests to measure wear and aging. During the waterproofness test, we test 3 levels of waterproofness: 2000 flexes (about 2.5-mile hike), 4000 flexes (about 5-mile hike), and 8000 flexes (about 10-mile hike). This model of boot has been tested with up to 4000 flexes, which is equivalent to 5 miles of hiking.

Breathable boots for optimal thermal comfort

Thermal comfort is a balance between the warmth of the boots and its ability to let the foot breathe. Too much heat or not enough breathability means that damp accumulates and cold can set in. We have designed your boots with your regular and at times intense activity in mind, with a membrane that prevents water ingress and lets damp out.

What is the difference between traction and snorkeling?

The traction of the boots depends on the number and shape of the studs. The grip is dependent on the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, like the tires of your car. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents the boot from slipping backward when going uphill, and stabilizes the boot. Grip prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, ice) by giving the base grip.

Which type of grip and traction does this boot provide?

Equipped with SNOWCONTACT soles, your boots are designed for maximum grip comfort for hiking and traction on snow. The location and height of the studs (5 mm) is inspired by lynx feet and are spaced strategically for optimal grip when hiking on snow on steep terrain. The surface and design of the studs are designed to perfectly grip the layer of hard snow and evacuate excess water to not slip.

How does the snowcontact technology used on the boot base help me?

The SNOWCONTACT soles are made with a specific component and stud pattern that is designed to ensure the best possible grip and traction. SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than traditional soles on snow. When walking on ice, the only way to ensure optimum safety is to add anti-slip grips to your boots.

Why is it important to be well supported in a hiking boot?

The support provided by your boot is essential for your comfort when hiking. Indeed, good support optimizes your steps on hilly terrain (ascent and descent), prevents your foot from sliding in the boot and reduces the occurrence of blisters. There is less loss in the transmission of your energy to the boot and therefore less fatigue. This is especially important when you are snowshoeing.
