Question:

Hi, I am right between sizes M and L for the Triban RC120 road bike. I am 5'11" and shorter legs with approximately a 31-32" inseam. What is the standover height for both the M and L frame for the RC120? Thank you

Answer:

You should opt for the large, though you may not have as much stand over clearance. I am 5'7" with a 30" inseam, and fit the medium perfectly.

By Thierry on Oct 30, 2023 | STAFF

I’m 5’11” with a 32” inseam. I’m fairly proportional in regards to torse, legs, arms, etc. The size guide says I’m right between a M and L. What do you recommend?

Answer:

Based on your height and inseam, I would definely recomend a large

By Thierry on Nov 24, 2023 | STAFF

I am 6 ft and the guidelines on this website say I should buy an L. However, other Decathlon websites of European countries (France, Italy, Germany) have a slightly different scale and I would be between M and L. What would be your advice? Thanks

Would Suggest a Large - at 5'8'' I am a medium to offer prespective.

Question:

Is there a way to purchase a new front wheel? I was in a car accident and only my front wheel was damaged.

Answer:

For sure, the wheel is a stanard size and should be available at your local bike shop. The components are 100% standard and should be easy to find. If you want to re-use exisiting parts, you can ask your local bike shop to rebuild the wheel on a similar rim reusing your hub, and rotor if they were not damaged in the accident.

Uncertainty

It's harder to reach the brake (the central part of the throttle). Maybe I have smaller fingers than others. Regarding the fenders and the trunk, I received various advice from the Decathlon "specialists". I still want to know if I can swap out my current tires for more studded ones (it's just versatile!) and what type of fenders and rack will fit my Triban 120.

Bike delivered to store,…

Bike delivered to the store, very well adjusted. Only 400 km done on the road (no paths) but the first impression is very good: true to size (size M for 1.74m), light bike, pleasant to ride, the gears are largely sufficient in the majority of cases (slopes at 7, 8%), effective brakes, comfortable saddle. Some elements are a little fair (pedals) but can be improved over time. It is not a champion's bike, but the quality/price ratio is clearly more than excellent. Only small downside, I took the "pearl gray" color. In fact it is more between light green and light blue. The color is beautiful but very dirty when it rains.

Disastrous bike and customer service

Very disappointed with my purchase of the RC120 bike from Decathlon in May/June 2023. Since the purchase, I have had numerous problems with punctures on the rear wheel. Despite several visits to the Digoin store and the payment of 30 euros, no solution has been found, and my warranty has been canceled. The problem persists even after consulting specialists. I am dissatisfied with the quality of the product and the after-sales service. I am requesting a refund and the return of the bike, but no response from you for 2 weeks already

Very good bike for…

Very good bike to get back into sport a bit.

great bike

very good bike, it is very pleasant to ride with

Very good bike to start with

Bought to start road cycling, it does the job well. 3 outings (2x30 and 1x50) the bike is rather comfortable, the color is pretty. I equipped it with automatic pedals and it's a treat. The only negative point for the moment would be a slight lack of fluidity in changing gears but to do your sport, the bike is very good. Bike delivered to the Décathlon in Croissy-Beaubourg, very good bike settings, I only had to adjust the saddle and the angle of the handlebars to my body shape. I recommend this bike to discover road cycling, I don't know if I will equip it in a gravel version.

Very good bike despite…

Very good bike despite some problems, rear wheel deflated three times without having ridden! Forced to return to Decathlon 3 times and each time I found the wheel deflated the next day without having ridden, after changing the inner tube, then inner tube with rim tape, the Decathlon team decided to change the complete wheel, in fact there was a machining defect inside the rim which pierced the inner tube each time, the workshop team is great and also very friendly, I was very well received and taken care of immediately without an appointment!

icon-circle-checkmark verified purchase
nothing tight and rim tape badly placed

brake cable not tight, I had to avoid an obstacle to avoid the accident, rim tape that does not stay in place, two punctures without riding. I do not recommend this purchase, I spend more time putting everything back in order than riding. an aberration to put people's lives in danger and not to be able to ride with a bike that comes out of the store. I am therefore asking for financial compensation!!!

icon-circle-checkmark verified purchase
Poorly prepared

The left brake lever was mounted incorrectly. Too far inward. When I removed the handlebar tape to reposition the lever, the handlebar tape tore and I had to change it at my own expense. Changing tires is a nightmare. The impression that the rims are too large in diameter. The rims are low-end The brakes were poorly adjusted. Very weak braking Only the gears were correctly adjusted Really disappointed with the bike preparation service

Great for starting out.

Bike with excellent value for money, great for starting out, very easy to handle. Fairly light (considering the price). I recommend it for beginners, also a great base for a future upgrade.
