Very good product with issues that can be improved, lack of compatibility with various bicycle models

Several problems

The two straps on the handlebars deteriorate quickly and are not easily replaceable, this is linked to the tightening buckles. The strap for attaching to the frame sanded my frame, it would be necessary to add foam for friction.

stability

I completed the set with the Riverside frame bag, under-saddle bag holder, under-saddle bag and this apparatus. My pleasure continued exponentially during the 17-day pleasure tour I took on the Istanbul - Mersin line through the Aegean and Antalya. If you make the connection on the handlebar tight, it has excellent stability. I had no security problems while carrying my mat/slippers/tent and accessories in that section. I recommend it to those who are considering it. I also tested its waterproofness with the heavy rain that I accidentally caught.

Very good product

Used on road bikes, bikepacking and mountain bikes (with sporty mountain bike use), the product fully fulfilled its functions. However, I had reinforced the loop system for fear that the hooks would go into the spokes. Please note, on XS and S size bikes, check compatibility.

good product

meets my expectations / easy to use / practical on a daily basis

Product probably very robust…

Probably very robust product for very committed mountain biking or gravel but: - difficult to use because too many added fixings (metal buckles, then plastic clip, then excess strap to roll and attach to yourself) which make use tedious and taking a lot of time with each assembly and dismantling; - Rather ugly product, with an almost military aesthetic that I find not very sober - too heavy - and much too expensive, especially considering the defects that I have just listed. Too bad, because overall Decathlon's efforts over the past few years on its Van Rysel, Rockrider, Riverside and Triban equipment are very commendable.

Robust

Solid harness, very happy with this purchase after a 10 day bikepacking outing. Be careful when installing on the handlebars, some cables may be damaged

Very effective.

This harness works wonderfully, and holds the load well. On the other hand, the fixing straps tend to shift on the handlebars with rolling vibrations, the bag then comes up against the covers and hinders gear changes.

Handlebar harness

This was absolutely rock solid during an 8 day bike packing trip in France! So versatile, can hold small or large loads and various combinations of dry bags / accessories. I’ve even kept it on my bike post holiday as it’s so handy for shopping!

Good product

A little long to install and to secure the package, but once finished, it's solid. Essential accessory for carrying things on a mountain bike when you cannot fit a luggage rack and panniers

Very good, stable mounting.

I bought it especially for a small expedition and I managed to test the handle in combat on a 200 km route. The mounting is very secure and solid, and at the same time easy and does not require any super skills. When properly tightened, the handle was stable and did not loosen despite varied terrain. Small Velcro on each strap that allows you to roll it up and fasten it is a brilliant solution - nothing comes loose. The holder is universal and will accept various "bags". I used a dedicated Riverside bag and it worked very well. Add a dedicated Riverside bag fastened with snaps (which is worth buying) and you can go off-road. Note: this type of mounting requires a fairly high head tube, so it is worth checking before purchasing whether there will be any collision with the front wheel. A small minus is the lower mount, which wraps around the head tube. It seems to me that it should be stable on the frame and the whole thing should only move within the straps. In my case, the entire element rotated on the head tube and after 200 km it was ground down to bare aluminum in some places. This rubber should be more "sticky" so that the strips move relative to each other and not the entire element. It is worth protecting this mounting point on the bike before installing the holder with a security sticker. I rate it 5-

Well designed and solid product

I really like this harness. It is practical and sturdy. I sometimes use the eyelets on the top to attach things and it's very practical. On the other hand, it is a little heavy.

Possible improvement

2nd year of using the harness + bag on a GRVL 120 size S (more than 1000 km of testing). RAS on the installation side (centering on the handlebars is not always easy), you quickly find your bearings and the optimal loading (for my part a 1-seater TREK 900 + 1 MT 500 mattress + a few light odds and ends). For my part, by tightening correctly, no friction on the front wheel. The only big fault with the harness is that the friction has literally destroyed the paint on the stem at the front: this point needs to be improved (provide with a plastic adhesive film like for the stay located under the chain?). If you have a solution, I'll take it, because the next use will become critical for the paint.

great bikepacking gear

Top quality/price ratio, although other identical products at double the price. used for 12 days of bikepacking over 1200km, everything is perfect, you can easily fit a 10l drybag, maybe less for small bikes and short stems/fork heads. loosening morning and evening, everything fits perfectly provided you tighten everything firmly as indicated. big plus for the "rings" on the top for hanging additional accessories.
