Excellent bike if you're on a budget!!

Bought this bike because we are in a tight budget. Everything works great, a little bit of tuning still needed for the rear derailleur but it went together easy enough. I had no shipping damages so I was lucky I guess. Rides smooth, palm shifter is great (I've seen people complaining about gear levers compared to integrated but you get used to them quickly enough, plus they're cheap enough to upgrade). Brakes are super responsive and and the grip tape from the top bar, hoods and drops are surprisingly comfortable. Lightly treaded road tyres not gravel tyres are provided with the bike, they're not the most expensive but I'm sure they'll hold up well enough for my rides. I shaved 22 minutes off my 20 mile time compared to my old hardtail. 7 gears is maybe not enough but plenty for my needs. A tip for beginners, practice taking off the wheels and levering off the tyres to get a feel for your wheels. You'll thank me if you have a puncture in the future.

Excellent bike if you're on a budget!!

Everything that came with the bike went together perfectly. Luckily I had no shipping damages to the bike, base colour is silver which is great as I thought it was white. Get yourselves a torque wrench for putting it together as it doesn't come with one. I upgraded from a cheap 29'er Mongoose hardtail so obviously this bike will feel like a sports car compared to a truck (fastest bike I've had). The shifter is a little hard to press with just your fingers but you get used to it very quickly (I just use my whole hand as it's quicker, this part could also be upgraded to a higher spec Shimano shifter fairly cheaply). Not a bike for steep hills, although I haven't really tried it on any actual hills yet (my area is very flat). I recommend upgrading the bell it came with as no one could hear it while I was out. I also recommend park tool videos on YouTube to help with indexing the gears and make small adjustments while on a test ride to get them right. It's a great beginner road/gravel bike for the price (still the most I've ever paid for a bike but they get really expensive really fast). It also comes with lightly treaded road tyres instead of gravel tyres which isn't really much of a problem unless your gravel trails are actually very loose and rough. Drop bars are comfy and the grip feels good. I'll try and update this review after I've had the bike for a while.

do NOT buy this bike

If you're going to buy a bike, do not buy from Decathlon. If you're going to buy from Decathlon, do not buy this bike. It's falling apart after only a handful of uses. First, the pedals broke out of the crankarm treads because they were so cheaply made. Secondly, these are some of the cheapest presta nozzles I have ever seen and those broke too. Decathlon does not stand by their products or guarantee satisfaction. What a nightmare.

Loving it!

I am relatively new to cycling and I am a big guy (+300lbs) so I was worried about how this bike would turn out. I have put over 17 miles on it and I am really satisfied with it!

Good bike, bad description

I received my bike with the head tube sticking out of the box, significant paint damage to the fork, and the limiter screw for the derailleur completely bent sideways. Despite that I continued to assemble it as bikes like I was looking for are extremely hard to come by right now with the pandemic. It went together fine and luckily the derailleur didn’t need adjusting because it may not be possible with the current screw. I also did not receive the gravel tires listed in the description or the lighting kit. I still contacted decathlon to see if there was anything they could do, advising sending it back would be a last resort. They only said the bike came with slick tires now, never addressed the lights, and offered 10% back for damage. Not what I wanted to hear, $50 back won’t even cover the cost to put tires like I was needing and were already supposed to be on the bike. As far as everything else I was told the lifetime warranty still applied so we’ll see how well they handle that if it becomes necessary. All in all the bike functions fine for the price, but I still feel wronged by the inaccurate description and lack of effort in correcting it or the damage.

Dear customer. I would like to thank you for your very detailled feedback, and I would like to apologise for this bad experience when receiving this bike.

I am happy to see that our customer service reached out to you to deliver appropriate solutions and I hope you are now happy riding your Triban RC100.

Your feedback is particularly valuable for us, I would like to highlight that indeed since your review, we corrected the wrong description of our item and addressed the correct product pictures. Also, domestic shipping of our bikes is a key factor and we have reinforced our boxes and the protection of all our bikes to ensure the satisfaction of our customers and make sure that our bikes are delivered without scratches. One last thing, we are happy to now provide tools to all our bikes to help in the last steps of assembly that are usually required like pedals or aligning the stem.

I wish you wonderful rides with your RC100.

Excellent commuter and training

Really easy to put together took me 20 mins it worked perfectly out of the box. I recently sold it for a CAAD13 that’s more serious for cycling but it did very well. Wish it would’ve came with better gear shifters than the traditional thumb lever.

Love it!

My husband love it so much! Thanks!

Amazing Entry Lever Road Bike

I read a SG blog, he did 11 Round the Island with this Bike (130+km per round) and regular rides... totaling 3200km! I came from Tern B7 Folding bike. I am 1.75cm, and bought M size. Reason for M is that as a Road Bike, we very often stand over the top frame... and M size gives more clearance in between legs. RC100 is speedy and quick (coming from folding bike). At the same effort, RC100 is easily 3 to 7km/h quicker. 20km/h is my cruising speed. The saddle is subjective only at around 25km (without cycling shorts) I need to move around as soreness comes in. Minor dislikes: 1) when holding the top (horn), braking seems abit stiff. But still brake-able.... just have to adjust and get used to it. Still able to jam brake. 2) the shifter... is located near the middle of the handlebar... which means you need to take right hand off the bar to shift gears. I can never want to shift to 6th and 7th... because at 27-30km/h +, in gear 5, it will be very very scary to shift. For $370, it is a very good and stable entry into Road Bike. Received on 8th March 2021, now is 25 March 2021, done 280km... and keeps going. Strava: Rayz L

Bike size bigger than expected; great return

The bike looks great but it's way bigger than expected. I'm 1.56cm and based ont he size chart, I should be riding a S . Even the XS bike is still too big for me. However, kudos to their great customer service and easy return. I got refunded one day after the bike was picked up for return. Keep up the great job!

Delivered with damaged hand grip

Just delivered today 14th Feb but noticed that one of the handle bar (right side) is covered with thermocool wrapper and left side not wrapped.. so suspected and checked immediately. As expected, the rubber hand grip is damaged in handling it seems..
