Product Customer Reviews

Doesn’t keep my feet warm (I was at -5ºC) and not waterproof at all!!! Very disappointed
Thank you for taking the time to share your review of Quechua SH500 X-Warm Waterproof High Snow Boots with us. Are you eager to get out and start enjoying wide expanses of snow? We have designed these boots for your regular cold weather hikes in packed or deep snow.
Warm and waterproof thanks to their cradle, they are easy to get on and off and provide good support with built-in lacing. The Snowcontact sole provides good grip in snow.
We are deeply saddened to find out about your unfortunate experience with the product. Rest assured that we will transfer your information to our design and production teams.
To ensure your satisfaction, our customer support team has already reached out to you with a solution.
Can you be sure that your boots are warm enough for your winter hikes?
We chose a warm lining that has insulation to give you effective protection from the cold. We tested it in the laboratory and in the field with our user representatives. We checked the temperature down to which it stays comfortable when you're stationary and when you're walking, as this varies a lot: 23°F when static and 0°F when moving. We also took into account how temperature is felt differently by men and women.
How do your boots protect you from outdoor conditions?
Your boots have been designed with a 100% waterproof low cradle to protect the part of the foot most in contact with the snow. The textile upper is water-repellent and warm to give you good protection against cold and snow ingress.
How can you be sure your boots are 100% waterproof?
We made sure that your boots are waterproof by conducting laboratory tests to simulate walking with the boots half-submerged in water. We also conducted field tests to measure wear and aging. During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2,000 flexes (about 2.5-mile walk), 4,000 flexes (about 5-mile walk), and 8,000 flexes (about 10-mile walk). Your boots were tested to 8,000 flexes, which is equivalent to 10 miles of walking. (N.B.: The upper is water-repellent)
Thank you for sharing your experience with Quechua products.

It's good
Excellent
Absolutely amazing is the 5th year i get always the same pair goodbye to frozen toes and wet feet no more warth the money 5 stars
I was looking to replace well-loved boots for dog walking in the colder months. I suffer from cold feet and so warmth is important to me. I practically lived in these all last Winter. They are super warm and comfy. Really good for dog walking - the 'rubber' skirt is just high enough to cope with muddy paths/wet fields. Functional and a great boot for a sensible price. Good grip in cold conditions.
My feet were lovely and warm. Difficult to comment re grip as when it was particularly icy I used crampons (which were great, well worth buying).
Very warm and cosy. Not used them properly yet as they are for hiking in Switzerland in April. But they look good and warm.
Bought these to go Lapland perfect bought a larger size as I had thick socks but so comfy and warm perfect it was -13 and feet were warm n dry would certainly recommend
Took these on a trip to Lapland with -28 degrees and they were perfect, extremely warm, comfortable and waterproof...even after messing around in the snow! The grip is also excellent, I've previously had issues with slippery shoes and these were perfect.
Good boots for money, warm and dry
Bought this to wear in very heavily snowing place, was very comfortable and warm.
Used in Arctic circle in December at -20 and offered good thermal and water protection in snow when used with appropriate thermal socks. Would recommend.
I used it once but it hurts so much. The shoes are too narrow. I feel so painful after wearing it for a short while. In this situation, is it possible for a refund?

What is the difference between traction and grip?
The boots’ traction depends on the number and shape of the studs. The grip is dependent on the materials of the sole and the tread pattern, like the tires of your car. Traction optimizes propulsion, prevents the boot from slipping backward when going uphill, and stabilizes the boot. Grip prevents the boot from slipping and skidding on smooth ground or in demanding conditions (rain, snow, ice) by giving the sole grip.
Which type of grip and traction does this boot provide?
Equipped with SNOWCONTACT soles, your boots are designed for maximum grip comfort for hiking and traction on snow. The location and height of the studs (3.5 mm) are spaced strategically for optimal grip when hiking on snow The surface and layout of the studs are designed to perfectly grip the layer of hard snow and evacuate excess water to avoid slipping.
How does the snowcontact technology used on the boot sole help you?
SNOWCONTACT soles are made with a specific component and stud pattern that is designed to ensure the best possible grip and traction. SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than traditional soles on snow. When walking on ice, the only way to ensure optimum safety is to add anti-slip grips to your boots.
Will your boots withstand regular use over the long term?
Our engineers conduct laboratory tests to ensure that the product is fully satisfactory. Our verifications include the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV-resistance, abrasion-resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated aging.
How to choose the right footwear for hiking
To be well equipped in winter, we recommend that you follow these guidelines: Warmth: Warmth provided by a warm pair of socks (ideally containing a suitable percentage of wool)Breathability: Choose the sock according to the intensity of the hike and make sure you wear a breathable model to minimize moisture.Boot height: Adapt the height of the sock to the height of the upper and preferably choose high models if you want more protection.
How to preserve the technical qualities of your boots
A fabric's water-repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm, and breathable. The water-repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.
