I purchased this jacket knowing from the web application that it has a waterproof rating of 15,000. But surprise the physical product has a waterproof rating of 5,000 on the label sewn on the jacket. I'm still waiting for an email from the Dechatlon representatives who state that the jacket has 15,000, but because they don't guarantee that the jacket will keep its impermeability after several washes. An unsatisfactory explanation of pure marketing and I am still confused. They couldn't provide any guarantee of their statement.

Perfect
Very nice winter sports jacket, also great for cycling without a vest. Great cut, waterproof and keeps you warm. Unfortunately, the zipper broke in the second season.

Really nice jacket, good length, material, cut, pockets, protector... I like everything. But when I tried to put on my snowboard gloves, which are a bit longer due to the wrist protection, I failed. The sleeve is too tight to wear the gloves underneath and the jacket is too stiff to comfortably push the sleeves up a little and wear the gloves over them. A pity!

How does my jacket protect me from impact?
This SNB JKT 500 PROTEC is the 1st jacket on the market to protect your back against impact. The integrated Hexaflex technology protective component (hexaflex.fr) complies with directive 89/686/CEE Cat2, a European directive applicable to back protection when Alpine skiing or snowboarding. The invisible back protection vest is removable if you want to wear the jacket when you are not on the slopes.
How does my product warranty work?
This product is guaranteed for 5 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by warranty will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.

Can i be sure my jacket will give me proper protection in bad weather?
To withstand bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.), the pants have been developed with a component and assembly that keep the water out and reduce wind-chill. The waterproof rating is measured by placing the product in a special shower that replicates the real-life conditions encountered by snowboarders during use. Finally, we have spent a few days snowboarding, in all conditions, to validate the waterproofing of the product.
Water often gets in through the seams. does my jacket have waterproof seams?
As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of the jacket with taped seams. These are waterproof, adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. For this product, all seams (100%) are waterproof.
Why is water-repellency needed for my jacket?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its ability for water to form on the surface without being absorbed because of a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using products available in our stores. All the waterproof jackets that we design for snowboarders are water-repellent.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
A membrane is a very thin component (between 5 and 25 micrometers) applied to the internal surface of a textile substrate to give it excellent waterproof and breathable capabilities. Our membrane components stop water from getting inside while allowing the water vapor generated by your body to pass through, when snowboarding.
Product testing
All Dreamscape snowboard products are tested under the actual conditions of use for which they were designed: in the snow, in the cold, and in all possible conditions you may come across when snowboarding and skiing. The design teams, product managers, engineers, and pattern makers check that the program for which the product was designed and developed perfectly matches its use in the field.
Storage instructions
It is better to store on a hanger and avoid folding to prevent damage to the membrane. Dry thoroughly before storing in a dry, well-ventilated place.
