Find the correct size is a bit tricky

Beware that these shoes are not true to size. It says in the description that they run small. That is not the case, at least for me. Admitting that every manufacture has its own mold, I compare it with Shimano RC902 as a point of reference. For that shoes, size EU 43/ US 8.9, is a correct fit for me. As per description for the GRVL500, I first ordered size 9.5. It was too big! Then I ordered size 9, still too big. Then size 8, and it is not too tight, but I need to wear a thin socks. I stayed with size 8 for now, as I plan to wear them for my indoor setup. Hence, no need to wear heavy/thick socks. I don't understand why there is a missing size 8.5.

Thank you for taking the time to review our product. We always look to fully satisfy our customers and I am sorry to read that you had troubles to find the appropriate size with this pair of cycling shoes.

You are right that the shoe do not run too small as it is using a last that is regular. Based on your feedback and other customer feedback we will remove this mention of "runs too small".

As for the your remark on the missing 8.5 US Size, you are also totally right. We are a european born company and all our footwear has been built on european size for now.

Between each European size, the length vary of >6mm = 1/4 inch.

Between each US size, the length vary of 1/3 inch, and between each half size US = 1/6 inch.

Because of this difference our translation from EU size to US size does not allow to cover all the half size in US. We are working on this to improve our offer choice and answer in a more accurate manner.

I would like to thank you again for your feedback and I hope this answer is usefull for you.

Thank you

First time i bought shoes for cycling

Can't compare them to other brands but these work well for my needs!

Good but not quite as walkable as made out

These are good but they are not quite as walkable as made out. You couldn't go for a cycle then a long walk, they feel a bit unstable but they're fine for cycling and doing the shopping, or something like that. The for is a bit bigger than other shoes of the same stated size. But they are pretty good.

Comfortable and easy to walk in. Good for those coffee and cake stops :)

Road cycle shoes

Good look and value. Clips fitted into shoe, slight problem with sliding movement for adjustment, but soon sorted. Would recommend. May buy a spare pair!

RV500 by any other name.

Decathlon have renamed the RC500 MTB shoe to keep up with the gravel craze and they don't disappoint. This is now my third pair as they are just so comfortable. Especially good if you have a broad fit and/or high arches. Easy to walk on, surprisingly rigid for the price. Use them on your MTB, gravel bike and good enough for long, ie 100 mile rides without discomfort. Well worth the money.

Good cycling shoes, a little long

As cycling shoes go, they're not bad. Good stiff sole, comfortable fit with good lacing. Breathable upper (so not that damp-proof). Width is good. Length came in a little long, but that may settle down as the uppers are a bit stiff at the moment.

Shame about the width

Pros, good looking shoe at an excellent price and one of a shrinking range of road shoes with the SPD clip, which is, in my view, better for touring. Cons, i have a wide foot which I thought could be accommodated by the laces allowing for a looser binding at the top of the shoe. Although this does accommodate a wide foot it results in the shoe being splayed out around the ankle resulting in a poor fit. I should have sent them back immediately, but wore them a number of times as I wanted them to work out.

Ok for first time

Bought these as a conversion to clip less peddles and have to say they are good, the sole is solid as expected for a clip less shoe and the tread and design is good for MTB bikes as gives good traction when walking across muddy trails.

New to this... Good, light and comfy

A good friend gave me a road bike after many years of not cycling I was back. I wanted some clipless cleats but didn't want to spend an awful lot to begin with. These are a great start really comfy and I have just set up with pd m324 pedals very excited to go out in them

Good value less aggressive spd

Good points: stiff sole, ok power transmission, not too heavy, resistant to windchill, hoping upper will be durable, ok to walk in, styling is nice and understated. Needs more work for next version: Lacing layout is poor tight toes with poor foot retention, elastic cross piece incorrect length and placement, could be more cleat adjustment, could be more less hard rubber on sole, what is going to happen when cycling in the rain no drainage and padding will hold on to water?

Go and Try Them On

I bought them online and if I'm honest they are probably just a little too long. Try them first
