How to choose your Gym Ball
- Size S: up to 5'5" tall.
- Size M: between 5'5" and 6'1" tall.
- Size L: over 6'1" tall.
How do you inflate it to the right size?
When you pump up your ball for the first time, don't be afraid to over-inflate it. Sit on it and adjust the level of inflation (by slightly deflating it, if needed) to adjust the ball to your height. Your knees should be at the same height as your hips or slightly lower. To save time, you can inflate your ball using the Gym Ball pump (sold separately).

The story behind this ball
2 years ago, Bruno, our Pilates accessories product manager, took physical therapy sessions for a herniated disc. His physical therapy included exercises with a Gym Ball. The ball, which rolled to the other end of the room between exercises, quickly gave him ideas. With advice from Dorian, his physical therapist, he developed this weighted Gym Ball.
What is proprioception?
Proprioception is your ability to perceive where your body is in space, whether consciously or not. It uses numerous receptors that tell your brain what position your various body parts are in. It affects your balance and reflexes.
By doing regular exercise, you will improve your proprioception, gain mobility, and reduce the risk of injury.
