A good waterproof coat at a very reasonable price
Bought for beating. Good price and quality
After ordering quite a few Solognac items I realised I had to order larger than usual. So as a Father's Day present I offered this in an XL version to my children, which they bought for me. I am 5'11, 34" waist, 42" chest, 48" shoulders and 16 1/2" neck, (and 55 years old) so not huge by any means. First impressions are very good. The fabric is obviously fully waterproof as are all the external zips and pockets. The stitching and build quality are, so far, without fault. I immediately tried it on over a shirt and t-shirt combo and it fitted great. I added a thick hoodie to the mix and it was comfortably snug. By that I mean it was doing a great job of keeping me warm and not restrictive. One thing I notice about the reviews on this site is that sizes and fit are not always reviewed, so I thought I would address that here. If you are average build, like I consider myself to be, always go for the XL versions with Solognac items. I only received the coat yesterday, so I won't comment on durability or field testing yet, but it certainly feels up to anything I can throw at it. Once tested I will raise another review. I will say, however, that all the other Solognac items such as shirts, t-shirts and caps I have bought have been excellent with regard to durability and quality. Just remember to go up one size. On a final note I just have to mention the price. £54.99 for a coat of this quality is amazing and if I saw this in another shop in the UK I would expect to see a £99.00 price tag on it (if not more). Highly recommended.
the previous reviews stating it comes up short clearly hadn't seen the pictures on the ad. This is not a mid leg length jacket but instead will drop to around the crotch area. Now that thats put to bed the jacket is superbly thought out. The seams are water tight and pockets with the YKK zips are well placed and again water protected, the Whole garment is lightweight and has no compromise to movement. im 5"8 and a 32 waist with this in medium and it is absolutely spot on for size and manoeuvrability. drag Outs don't cause a huge sweat up as the mess inside when the zips are opened for extra ventilation really do help circulate. A great all round jacket and coupled with the W/P trouser an excellent garment that will please any stalker either lowland or on hillside. If however you wish to LAY up and ambush for hours at a time you will either need to layer up with thermals or purchase the thicker More insulated kit
Well made, comes up a little smaller than expected and there is no hanging loop to suspend from a hook, which is annoying

Wanted a wet weather coat that wasn't too warm, but needed to be tough and hard wearing. This does just what I wanted.

The component's waterproof properties
With waterproofing of 2000 mm, the Supertrack 300 PARKA offers an extremely high level of waterproofing. We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. Components with 2000 mm waterproof rating can resist 2000 mm of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
Garment waterproof properties
The Supertrack 300 PARKA has passed a shower test under 100 liters of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the same conditions as a storm. For further information, go to the Solognac website
