I love these. I swim with them all the time and do some stand up paddling. No more sunburn on my arms and back! Only need suncream on my hands, legs and face.
Purchased for a surfing trip to the Maldives in Sept. Do not be put off by the price, this top is not only cheap but both excellent quality and stylish. Thoroughly recommended.
Excellent value for money and served its purpose well whilst snorkelling in Greece. I normally take medium in size but bought a large and glad I did as the fit was just right. Nice bit of gear for the money.
I am slightly amazed at the poor reviews here, this top has served me well (and my kids have loads of the short sleeve ones) - both under my full wetsuit and as a sun top. It washes well and is at least half the price of something similar in a "proper" surf shop It is a snug fit - but it is supposed to be! You want it to be close to your skin so you can get a wetsuit over it. Which is why it has the longer arms - to my mind an inspired bit of design that stops the sleeves disappearing up inside my wetsuit and actually helps get my suit back on, especially when it is (or I am) wet Sizing may well depend a bit on your shape. I am an M or L in most clothes and definitely an L in this. If you want something a little looser (as a sun suit only - it will ruckle under a wetsuit) then go up at least one size I just hope they bring back the thermal version
Ordered Large and got EU Large (equals UK Medium) instead of UK Large. Sizing not obvious on the on-line order form. Also spoke to the Sales Team and was not appraised of this quirk. As for the sleeve length, totally ridiculous. Totally disappointing service, do not have the confidence to use Decathlon again.
Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry to hear that our surf UV top didn't much your expectations. I can see that this is another negative feedback about the sizing issue. The brand if aware of all negative comments and they will be working on improvements for the coming seasons.
From other side this is surprising, because this technical rash vest is our good seller. Sleeves will become longer once the fabric gets wet.

The cutting and col combination is good ! But if the fabric is a little softer is better esp in the hot summer ! And fabric breathablitiy

Tried and bought of a size that fits me like a TShirt. Turned out to be over-sized in water. Uncomfortable coz it adds a lot of bubbles inside.

Great costume for swimming and a must have for people involved in active water sports. Thanks for the UV proof tech, I only apply water resistant sunscreen on the face and hands, rest is protected.
Went for a tour wearing this under harsh sun. Now the color difference between my exposed & unexposed arm definitely proves that it's worth the price & design is also awesome.
It is quality top which fits nicely. Can be used for swimming by occasional swimmers. Total value for money.

How to choose your uv protection t-shirt (part 1)
All of our UV-resistant T-shirts are UPF50+, i.e. they have the maximum level of sun protection. The choice between them will therefore be made based on the length of the sleeves and will depend on what it will be used for. The constraints are greatest for surfing so we decided to build our range primarily for surfing. For surfing, the choice will be made according to the duration of your sessions: 1 hour, 2 hours or 3 hours.
How to choose your uv protection t-shirt (part 2: according to the duration of the session)
1 hour: Occasional practice. You can choose between a loose fit (priority to ease of dressing and comfort when dry) or a fitted cut (priority to comfort when wet). A loop system to connect it to the shorts ensures the stability of the product.2 hours: Regular practice. Comfort when wet is enhanced by the seamless panels under the arms and the drawstring which further increases stability.3 hours: Intensive practice. Additional warmth to help you stay in the water for longer.
Uv protection even when wet
The fabric of this TRIBORD UV-resistant product blocks at least 98% of UVB radiation and 95% of UVA (UPF 50+). In compliance with the EN-13758-2 standard, it guarantees effective protection against the sun. It can be used both in and out of the water, for water or nautical sports. The integration of ceramic particles directly into the fibers of the product provides durable protection over time, even after washing.
What does upf 50+ mean?
UPF is a sun protection factor (Ultra Violet Protection Factor) and is standardized worldwide. It defines the protection level of a fabric and more precisely the proportion of UV rays it lets through. To meet the standards, it must block at least 95% of UV rays. UPF 50+ means that the fabric blocks at least 95% of UVB and 98% of UVA rays.
Reduced chafing
This UV-resistant T-shirt helps limit rubbing and chafing due to contact with the surfboard or bodyboard. It can also be used under a wetsuit to limit rubbing, particularly around the neck and armpits. We have added seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation due to paddling movements. Our test protocols confirmed that irritation was indeed limited during two-hour sessions.
Warmth and wind
The minimum water temperature recommended for the use of this UV-protection T-shirt is 72°F. Air temperature may increase or decrease this recommendation. Our thermal models (over 2 hours) are made of either fleece, neoprene or both. The presence of wind can have an impact which can be uncomfortable as soon as the wind exceeds 9 mph: In this case, choose a model with neoprene.
Support system
The Tribord UV-resistant top has a drawstring at the hips. This lets you tighten the top so that it stays firmly in place. It has also been designed so that the drawstring of your boardshorts can be attached to it to stop the top from riding up while you surf.

Behavior when in the sun
Although this T-shirt provides protection from the sun, phenomena such as reflections (from the water, sand, etc.), heat, time of day, etc., must be taken into account.Wearing this T-shirt does not exempt the wearer from adopting suitable behavior: wear sunglasses, wear a hat or cap, regularly apply an appropriate sun cream, drink regularly, etc.
