Got these for my son (9 yrs). The sizes come in ranges, so he's either at the top of the smaller or the bottom of the larger applicable range. You'll need to know your kid's size in a European fit. As a fail-safe, I get him to try on everything. I got the next one up as he's likely to get two summers' worth of use. He's used them & he loves them. They give a good amount of 'thrust' (?) per kick so we can swim together. Also, the fins have some flexibility, but not too much, so walking (if he has to) isn't too awkward - probably better to put them on in the water. Value for money is excellent and the quality is high.

the fins are overall good but they need to be a little more flexible since cramps are very common due to the rigidity of the footpiece

What are swim fins for?
A fin is a piece of swimming training equipment to work the lower body. Swim fins are ideal for swimming faster, for longer. You can simultaneously work on your heart rate and muscle building on the lower body (thighs, glutes and calves as well as core stability)

RIGID FINThe rigid fin design is guaranteed via orange plastic inserts.The more rigid the blade, the greater the muscle workout, the softer the blade, the fuller and more effective the stroke. Foot pocket
