Product Customer Reviews

*** First Impression I bought this backpack in a sale for $50, and for that value it was a terrific deal. The backpack materials and manufacturing is of excellent quality. No loose threads or defects found. Straps are uncomfortable and difficult to setup for taller people but they work. I bought this pack for dual purpose, most of time it will carry my camping gear when I go camping, and from time to time I will use it for traveling both locally or internationally. Cons: - There is no way to hide the shoulder straps, I wish I could do that in case I need to check the bag in. - The straps are incredibly uncomfortable, I used the pack for ~10min when I received it and the next day I woke up with sore shoulders. (Make sure you get used to this backpack before going on a trip or hitting a trail, similar to breaking in a pair of shoes). - The straps are fixed and hard to setup for taller people, I'm 5"11 and the waist strap sits about 1-2 inches above my waist. I wish I could adjust it. - Sternum strap sits really high at its lowest setting I wish I could lower it ever more. - The "shoe" bag included at the bottom of the pack gets in the way and it makes difficult to use the space at the bottom of the pack even when it is not in use. - The so called "laptop" sleeve is more of a "laptop destroyer" compartment since there is a curved aluminum pole behind it, and it will surely put a lot of pressure on anything that is put in it. Do not put valuable electronics in this sleeve.
Exceptionally sturdy, packs neatly. Material has absolutely no give at all which forces you to go minimal, but hey you don't buy a 40L if you don't know that already. With straps fully extended the space between the bag and the top flap was enough to hold a tent. Slightly on the heavy side, so hiking with it might result in better leg strength. There are other 40L packs that weigh 800g, but are twice as expensive and not even half as sturdy, so weight is a trade-off. Included rain cover is a winner; would have been better if it too was black. The strap side of the bag is a bit messy compared to the front which is super clean. Zips, straps and locks are very well done and seem like they will last. Good value for the price.
Day pack , picnic hike or overnight stay perfect
Great quality backpack and great size too. I'm using the closest storage area closest to the straps for a 2litre water bladder but can't see that there is a hole through for the water pipe from the water bladder. Is there one that i can't see?
Fit perfectly to Ryanair cabin bag. Good value for money
We went trekking in Albania mountains. This backpack was perfect for me as it wasn't too big but it carries all the necessary things inside. My backpack weighted about 7kg and still it felt light as you can adjust it so that it feels as part of your whole body. Great product.
Excellent
Looks like a great bag, seems like a real deal compared to similar bags much more expensive, time will tell but I've had very good experiences with decathlon bags. Just one important question, where's the waterproof cover advertised???? I'll be using this to commute to work so I need it! Help?!?!
If you add a hydration pack section I would definitely buy two for my kids school and scouts camping trips. Hydration packs distribute the weight better than a large water bottle on one side...and they think it is fun.
Just came back from an almost 3 months trip. The size is perfect, can be used as cabin luggage, and could keep everything I needed for the stay of my trip. Very comfortable.
This is excellent quality and has great straps and back, however, I hate its design. The design is cleaver but it does not work for me. The outer compression straps get in the way of the zips of the easy access pockets. If you leave the straps undone they flap around. I also like to be able to rummage around and pull anything out I need and this is difficult. For example to get a laptop out, the easy access flap is not big enough and the whole back structure needs to be undone and then all the other contents has a good chance of falling out. Also the top 'brain' lies awkwardly if it is not clipped on and exposes the security compartment. Overall, it is a good try at doing something better but in my opinion it does not quite work but it might for you. The quality is excellent.
Bought for my daughter as a school bag. Good strong piece of kit. It holds all her school work and sports kit with room to spare. She loves it and will also be using it on expeditions with scouts.
Great product, big enough for a week trip.
Great back pack, very comfortable, maybe not for a tall person, could do with more internal pockets
Bag opens up way too much, too easy for things to fall out, hard to open quickly

Additional sustainable development information
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we use a mass pigmentation process that involves adding the color pigments when the yarn itself is produced. It enables us to reduce CO² emissions by 23% compared to a traditional dye.
Eco-design of the travel 100 backpack
We work relentlessly to reduce the environmental impact of our backpacks. It’s a balance between material choice and product durability. In fact, the heavier the bag, the higher its CO2 consumption. Heavy material often indicates strength and durability. This is why our challenge is to combine eco-design with durability.
What about the travel 100 from a practical point of view?
On this TRAVEL 100 backpack, we worked on the fabric, using mass pigmentation. In the first year, we moved all inner BLACK fabrics over to the dope dyed process. In the second year, along with our partner supplier, we managed to do this for outer fabrics in DARK GRAY, BLACK, and KHAKI. Next year’s challenge is therefore to do this for BORDEAUX, BLUE, and LIGHT GRAY fabric!
How to adjust your backpack?
Begin by adjusting the lumbar belt. The bag's weight should sit mainly on your hips. Then tighten the shoulder straps to bring the bag's weight toward your back. Attach and tighten the chest strap, then tighten the smaller straps above the shoulders so that the back sits perfectly on your back.
Backpack travel 100 compartments
Suitcase-style wide opening. A big internal compartment in the bottom of the bag (for shoes or laundry for example). An inside net pocket and one on each side of the big compartment. A zipped belt pocket (perfect for having your phone at hand) Water compartment against the back (could also be used for a laptop)
Protect your bag in the rain
The bag comes with a rain pocket waterproof to 2,000 mm (Schmerbers) This is equivalent to a rain shower of 60 L per hour per square meter.
