really nice bike for the price

Wheels and tyres no issues

Ordered on line last week and delivered within 48 hrs by courier. I had looked at the negative reviews about the wheels and after some consideration decided to proceed with the purchase anyway as I loved the way it looks and the spec for the price was fantastic. Easy to set up straight from the box if you are fairly proficient as most of the set up and adjustments are already done. As the bike is mainly going to be used for commuting I decided to replace the tyres straight away with something more grippy and wider. I opted for a pair of commuter tyres with puncture protection and 35 wide. I was really expecting and battle to get them changed ( after reading many of the online reviews some saying it took 3 to 4 hours to change 1 tyre) however I had them both changed in 20 mins or so with no issues at all. The new tyres look and feel great and there was really no problem. Needed two tyre levers to get them off but got the new ones on with just my thumbs and a good firm grip. The rest of the bike is great so far. Quick and responsive when needed but smooth and predicable with no dramas. The gears are smooth and slick and the brakes are sharp and powerful. I did look at other makes and models but nothing came close to the Tiban for value for money. Handles great looks amazing. I am very happy with my purchase.

Good bike

Rims.....

It’s taken over 3 hours to change the wheel from stock decathlon tyre to a pana racer gravel king 700 x 35c That is unbelievable.... I’ve changed many tyre before, I used metal levers, plastic, multiple ones. Was speaking to the mechanic in decathlon and he said the longest it’s taken him is 2 hours, the rim design is terrible ...they need to recall them to sort this issue out. Now that have changed the tyre, it’s never coming off, it’s too much effort to swap back to a racing tyre. The bike itself is excellent, but if you get a puncture or need to replace tyres... that’s going to be a problem, it gets a 2 for that reason only. It’s a grantee I will get a puncture at some point.... I dread the 3 hours to change the tube. I would not recommend this product, unless your considering replacing rims from the start.... and at that price you may as well buy a specialised Sirius or Allez

very pleased with RC500 flat bar road bike

This an excellent road bike. i bought this whilst waiting for repairs to my triban520. The RC100 has good disk brakes and is generally a more comfortable ride. i love both bikes: they are excellent value for money.

Amazing quality for a bike of this price!

I'm really impressed by how this bike handles and the fact that it's genuinely an all-rounder. I've been using it on my daily commute for three weeks now (come rain or shine) and its been really comfortable and can easily handle my admittedly aggressive handling. It's shipped with great quality components but I'm aware that this bike is prime for upgrades. I'm looking forwards to getting a pair of 32c+ tires to take off-road on gravel trails.

so far so good

i've been on the bike twice so far, and so far so good. its quick and slick, and comfortable. its a good fitness bike to have, and the seat is comfortable. the horn bar at the end could be longer and more comfortable.

Great bike, problems with punctures

Triban rc 500 flat bar. Had bike for less than a week. Already had to change rear wheel inner tube twice due to punctures. I have found and removed a piece of metal swarf under rim tape. Hopefully this will fix the problem. On a positive note, I did not find the tyre difficult to remove or replace. Other problems, brake stuck on, found due to lever reach adjustment screw loose. Poor gear change, front derailleur needed repositioning on frame. Rear derailleur OK. Other than that I would say this is a great bike but it helps to be experienced at bike repair and maintenance.

Top Rennrad

Good design, poor quality

The bike looks quite good, but that's about it. Most of the important elements are quite low quality. Disc brakes, having mechanicals ones and not hydraulic ones causes a very poor braking experience. The elements of the transmission are also very disappointing, the chain keeps jumping now and then. And yes, I brought it back to the shop, but nothing changed. The worst being the geometry of the bike, you'll regularly hit your feet against the front wheel when turning. First time I see this kind of problems on a bike costing that kind of price.

Good bike let down by quality control

Upon picking up this bike, I was not given any information about it nor even given a seat adjustment. Shortly after leaving the store it was clear several things were wrong: the rear brake level continually tightened and both derailleurs were not set right, just to start with. I took it in to a different store to be fixed, which it quickly was, but shortly after the problems returned. I took it in again. This time, it was in the store for 2 days, and, shortly after collection, the problems returned again, only worse. Now, the bike seemed to make a new sound every kilometre or two, rattling whining, clicking, grinding. The rear brake pad was eventually permanently pressed against the brake. It was clearly unsafe to ride. I take it into the second store again, this time asking for a refund, but open to the idea of giving it one last go by swapping it for a new bike. So, I ended up swapping it out for the drop-bar version. Shortly after leaving the store, again, it's clear this bike also is very badly set up. The rear brake is too loose, possibly dangerously so and both derailleurs again are making a tonne of noise when in the highest gear on each, and the front brake is rubbing. It's a disaster. I return to the store one last time, where they confirm the bike is indeed terribly set up ("it will takes ages to fix"), and I get a refund. Good riddance. It's a shame, as this would clearly be a good bike (great at the price point) if it were put together and set up well. Sadly, the experience ended up being deeply frustrating.

Gutes Fitness-Rennrad - Lenker so lala

einfach super!

Erster Kontakt, mega zufrieden! Weiter so!

Bike brakes are bad, had to return the bike

I am VERY unsatisfied with this bike. Not only it comes without any accessories (while the Decathlon bikes of my friends did), but the front disc brake STOPPED working after two days. I had to go to the store TWICE to get it fixed. The store workers barely touched it, but they promised me that it would be fine. Now, three days after my second trip, the bike is not braking properly again. I have tried other bikes with disc brakes and they rake beautifully, this bike doesn't. I am tired of the bad quality of this bike and I am returning it.

Hallo Carlos,

thank you for your detailed feedback about the Triban RC500 Flat Bar.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and that you are not happy with the bike.
