Good mid-range gravel

Good bike, well equipped and light. The brakes would have deserved to be full hydraulic. Everything else in nickel. great value for money

great

very good bike to start gravel riding with complete peace of mind. we could regret the absence of real hydraulic disc brakes but at this price you shouldn't ask too much. I highly recommend.

Excellent value

This bike is not perfect but for the price it's hard to do better. The bike is comfortable whether on the road or on small paths. The peripherals offered are of surprising quality for this price range (shimano 105, TRP hydro-mechanical disc brakes, Hutchinson Touareg tires). There are, however, a few small drawbacks: - The wheels are heavy (2kg per pair) - The QR axles restrict the choice of wheels (most new gravel wheels are thru axle) - The minimum length proposed for the cranks is 170mm (which is ok for most people). If like me you need smaller cranks, you'll have to buy them elsewhere (and it's not cheap). - The cables at the front can hinder the installation of the panniers on the handlebars. Even with these negative points, this bike maintains excellent value for money.

Very good Gravel

Bike purchased in February 2024, After riding mainly on road and forest path I can give my opinion on this bike. Good value for money, the group is perfect for slightly involved Gravel riding. It's perfect for 100km hikes and can easily be bikepacked with the Riverside range.

very good bike

I've had this bike for 1 month now, and I'm very happy with it. the seller helped me with size adjustments, and others, then he explained to me what to do for maintenance. you have to get used to the vibration due to the fact that there is no suspension, but I used it last week to do half of the Paris-Roubaix, with many sections of cobblestone and the bike has very well kept.

Very good purchase

I previously had the grvl120 I moved to the grvl520 subcompact which suits me better and is better equipped. Apart from a small derailleur adjustment problem at the start, everything is fine, it brakes very well and the gears shift very well. Really convinced by this bike. I have done several outings between 50 and 70 kilometers and I am delighted.

A good versatile and comfortable bike

Gravel purchased during the promotion, I don't regret my purchase at all. Magnificent vintage color, the Shimano 105 groupset works well, perfect Touareg tires, good grip, disc brakes that need to be broken in. We will see the overall reliability in the coming months. Regarding the saddle, I usually always change it with each new bike. With this one, I was pleasantly surprised.

Definitely a good bike...

Certainly a good bike... Indeed since purchasing this bike on October 1, 2023, it has certainly spent more time at the decathlon workshop rather than at my place. Indeed after 2 weeks of use, in very varied use and after having broken in perfectly the bike works rather well with the exception of a rear derailleur roller which does not work correctly: the roller is well fixed but the derailleur is too wide which means that with each bump the chain derails this roller wedges itself between the roller and the derailleur... I therefore take advantage of the maintenance offered by decathlon to resolve this problem. It's done. I'm going to ride again in the following days, no more problems with the chain jumping: a good point. But I notice that the gear changes are not very precise, especially when going up towards the large rollers. I have to constantly play with the derailleur levers to be ok: return to the workshop to resolve this problem only a few days after getting out. We leave again, this time confident! Several weeks pass until the rear wheel begins to creak, make very strange noises until in the middle of the descent (and therefore freewheeling) the freewheel locks and takes the pedals, blow the chain... In short, it's lucky that everything is not broken. Without a second thought, I bring the bike back to the workshop. Big bearing problem... Okay, let's change the wheel! top. Here I am with a new wheel. I'm leaving again, taking a rainy road trip. at the end of a descent I want to brake because I arrive at a road junction: and there? No response from the rear brake, impossible to brake. Fortunately the front is ok and I can stop just in time. Well... coming back from this outing, I try to pump the brake to see if anything comes back: nothing. Come on, let's go back to the workshop. They tell me it's strange, they change the sheath + pads + cables and give it back to me as is. I test, break in the pads I feel that it brakes but 0 bite and 0 braking power. it does not suit me. In addition, a large graininess is felt on the rear brake lever. So I take it back to the workshop. They changed the rear brake caliper and told me that if it doesn't work we will change the bike given the problems encountered. I recover, break in, test, ok more power, still no bite and above all this graininess which prevents me from braking correctly with my hands on the covers. So I bring the bike back again. And there? Bad surprise, I am told that it is normal wear and tear and that if I want efficient braking again I will have to dismantle the handlebar tape and it is out of warranty. How can we explain that it is wear and tear if all the parts were changed less than a month ago? This is where I am today with this bike that I feel is full of potential but weighed down by alarming and disappointing reliability. Waiting for a decat gesture

Nice, I use it to do 30 km/day. next week I will use it for a tour in Tuscany and I will know better

Good report but many glitches

Purchased in July 2023, my grvl 520 quickly revealed some defects. The most annoying thing is a crack in the fork at the slightest roughness in the road (not very practical for a gravel bike). To this day, there is no way to know where this cracking comes from. The rear cassette is almost dead and the wheels are average quality. The flaws drive me crazy. Too bad since without the defects the bike is really good...

For the price…

For the price it's great the knowledge decat is second to none the employees are young and super friendly.

Top gravel bike at an affordable price

I've had the bike for over a week now and can't say anything negative about the bike. The light aluminum frame with the carbon fork and the super preset 105 Shimano gears have it all. Here you get a really cool gravel bike for a small dollar and great features. With other manufacturers with similar features and duller colors you pay at least a thousand more. Keep it up dear Decathlon team 👍
