Questions & Answers

Look for product information, frequently asked questions, opinions...

Question:

Im 5ft 8in how do i chose between small and medium size?

Answer:

Depending on your style of riding, you can choose between the 2 different sizes. I would recommend : - S if you want the bike to be lighter, a more aggressive position (Stack is lower, so your body position will be leaning more forward). - M if you want a more comfortable position, stack is higher and you can keep a similar reach (7mm difference with S) by moving forward the saddle slightly Overall, it also depends on your morphology, if you tend to be 5ft 8 with longer legs, I would recommend the M.

Bicycle picked up in store, prepared, adjusted.

Conscientiously adjusted and prepared by the mechanic according to the owner's tastes. Everything is excellent.

The first road bike I have

It's the first road bike I've ever owned and I think it's great. I think it has a high quality finish and the details, despite not being the highest range on the market, are taken care of. The torque wrench included in the box helps properly tighten each allen head in the assembly.

Ideal for a beginner

I bought this bike in 2020 and covered around 6000/7000 km. Very happy with my purchase, very good value for money (Shimano 105, Weight

Disappointing

Formerly on an RC500 Sora (which I had stolen...), I wanted to move upmarket (especially in terms of transmission). Brakes: The pad brakes are quite disappointing compared to the disc brakes of the RC500, despite the advice of the seller who assures me that the Shimano 105 brakes are qualitative. Frame: The frame is very low and despite the size guide provided by Decathlon, the bike is too small (I am 176cm tall and should be an M as for my RC500). The disadvantage being that this range is neither visible nor tryable in store. In-store salespeople are therefore poorly trained in the sale of the Van Rysel range. Transmission: In-store adjustments made too quickly and not up to par I think. Overall more and more disappointed with the Decathlon experience, where it is complicated to get advice on the 'sport' bike ranges. I plan to request a refund.

100% happy with this bike, would be even more perfect with disc brakes, internal wire routing and through axles. Other than that, great looking and fairly light product. Love it.

Good value for money for roads in good condition

Upon receipt, tire changes, saddle, handlebar tape, auto pedal assembly, and speed adjustments, the chain rubbing on the front derailleur. After 700km and 7000m of D+: +++ Good value for money: You have to spend €300 to €600 more to have a Shimano 105 group from another brand, and even more to have such a low weight +++ Shimano 105 group : Works well, reliability +++ Very low weight for the price ++ Correct performance on flat and slightly hilly roads (< 8%) + Steering, agility, stability downhill, tight curves: Correct + Low resistance to side wind (tested with wind at 40km/h) - Speed poorly adjusted at reception: Not normal for a new bike - Handlebars too thin, difficult to hold (and dangerous) with hands down on poorly paved descents (slip) - 120mm stem too much long, 100mm is sufficient (Size XL, 1.90m, inseam 93cm) - - Lack of overall nervousness/reactivity, all the more noticeable in sustained bumps (8 to 20%+). You can only rely on your legs to climb, and you shouldn't have to go through big climbs at the end of the ride while being tired, because the bike literally crashes into the road, it has no tolerance. - - - The major fault is discomfort on poorly surfaced roads (grainy, and/or joints and/or holes). Very strong vibrations and shocks travel up the hands/arms and via the saddle, making outings very painful or even leading to them being cut short. To limit discomfort, you must wear correct tires (continental GP 5000 28mm), thick gel handlebar tape x 2, lower tire pressure, more comfortable saddle (Italia SLR boost superflow).... In summary, the bike presents a good value for money to start or as a second bike for training at a low price, but you should not have too many poorly paved roads otherwise you will be uncomfortable.

Great

Great nothing to say, great bike

Very good quality

You would like it if the size of the specific user was taken into account when preparing the assembly.

Very good bike for medium cyclo

I have had this model in addition to another with a carbon frame for a year and a half. I have driven more than 8000 km with it. I find it very comfortable and very precise. When it is well adjusted (after a visit to the Decathlon workshop), it also performs well, according to my modest means. On his saddle (very comfortable), I climbed the Auvergne passes, the Puy-de-Dôme, but also the Portet pass and the Aspin pass without problem. I also made the Cinglée du Ventoux... So it's an effective tool at a very affordable price.
