This is a good pannier, yes it's not as sturdy as a £70 Ortlien but for the price is excellent. I've been using mince for 6 months on the daily commute and put my work rucksack into the pannier. I don't remove the pannier from the bike nad it lives quite happily there managing shopping trips for groceries or when i pop into town at the weekend. I bought a bright yellow one, the red is good. You can improve the bottom attachment by adding a few pop rivets to hold the bag to the plastic backing to make it a bit more secure. Also upgrade teh velcro strap to the hook from the 900 pannier model (see this part https://www.decathlon.co.uk/lower-rail-hook-set-id_8538528.html ) and by drilling two holes you have a much better attachment to your rack. An inexpensive £3.99 upgrade. Would i buy again, yes i would.
I bought this item as I was sick of carrying a rucksack on short cycle tours. I have since used it on three trips of between three and five days the longest of which saw three and a half days of torrential Scottish rain and strong winds. I have always used a dry bag inside the rucksack and continued with it inside the pannier. There was a very small amount of water in the bottom of the pannier on the worst day but far less than I expected. Frankly no one had dry kit on this trip and my pannier was drier inside than most. I was very impressed at its weather protection. On the downside, I'm not convinced the soft construction would stand up to heavy use or items with hard corners or sharp edges. I lined the sides and bottom with a thin sheet of stiff plasric and it's been fine. The mounting system doesn't inspire confidence, however it's never fallen off either even on some pretty rough sections of trail. Overall a very good value product for the price.
The construction of the bag looks good and should meet my needs.
Brought as a pressie for my sister and she loves it. Have to say I like it a lot and the price is great. Going to purchase one for me also. Would recommend
I cycle everyday to work, this bag has been perfect, easily to fit, holds everything I need and waterproof, I have cycled numerous times in torrential rain and this bag has kept everything inside bone dry. Highly recommend.
Good waterproof bag. Holds a lot of shopping.
Bought this to carry my dry clothes and laptop on my daily commute which takes 30 to 40 minutes. A good size and easy to fit, first sign of some decent rain and it let water in but didn't let it out quite so fast, result was my dry clothes sitting in a pool of water, fortunately I didn't have my laptop that day. Have since switched back to my old panniers which at least let the water drain out the bottom. B'Twin 500 NON Waterproof pannier now in the bin, waste of money.

I've only had this bag for a month so far and it's not really seen any rain yet but so far I'm fairly impressed. Time will tell on it's durability though. This is my first pannier bag so thought I would go for something relatively inexpensive. I use it 5 days a week to commute to work and find it rather useful as a pannier bag. There's no external or internal pockets but that's fine for me. It allows me to put my lunch box in the bottom with a jumper on top. When I get to work there's space for me to put my helmet in to carry around and after work I can get a bit of light shopping, (4 pints of milk, some bread and a few other small bits). I find it really easy to get it on and off the bike and it's made carrying stuff to work a lot more convenient.
Easy to use , comfortable and light. Good for use during rains. Did a coastal trip.
Its and average pannier but value for money. Not a durable tough bag still good enough for urban commuting. Good to go for urban cycling and light rain.
This bag is excellent. It’s quick & easy to attach & detach & so far it seems to be really tough.
Excellent product. It's slim not broad so doesn't interfere with pedalling. Easy to mount and dismount from rack. No worries about inclement weather. Great product for bike touring.

A number of adverse reviews have commented that this bag is not waterproof. I have found it sufficiently waterproof, but not very durable. I bought my bag in mid-April 2018. I have noticed that at the bottom there is an area where the waterproof coating is coming away. That might not be so terrible, but for the fact that the fabric is also fraying in the same place, and eventually will give way. I am not sure why this has happened. The external base of the bag is never in contact with anything and cannot be subject to friction. I would not expect a stone thrown up from the road to do the damage. I only generally carry the following inside the bag: 1) Kryptonite Evolution D-lock plus cable 2) Smaller B'Twin D-lock 3) Saddle bag containing inner tube, small multi-tool and puncture repair kit 4) Small hand pump Typical weight of the bag plus contents is rarely more than 4kg and usually less, so the bag is not being over-stressed. The bag has functioned well and to purpose over the last nine months, but I have doubts about its durability.
Thank you for the review of this bike bag. I will indeed forward this on to the Riverside team at Decathlon Cycles. I would be very keen to get a few photos to send to the Decathlon team (if you can). In the meantime, please return it to us for an exchange or a refund.

I don't know what you people are talking about. Did you stab a few holes in them with a knife and then force a garden hose in there or something? I took 2 of these panniers on a 12 day motorcycle tour of northern Vietnam in some of the most torrential rain I have ever been in and everything inside the panniers were bone dry. Sure, they needed the mud and stuff cleaned off at the end of each day (which I did in the shower BEFORE taking anything out of them) and they were brilliant. They were flexible enough to be strapped on to the side of the bike in any configuration and were ALWAYS completely dry at the end of the day. Check out the yellow ones if these are being discontinued. You people complaining about their lack of waterproofness mustvmu been riding round with them wide open as well. Fantastic buy!
Bought it to cycle to work. Haven't been tested under strong rain yet. Practical, easy to install day in day out.
