Product Customer Reviews

These are decent technical boots for the price, firstly and most importantly they are a good fit for my feet and the sizing seems spot on to me. Heel hold and cushioning all feel nice with no worries. Initially the stiffness feels very good and slightly above a medium flex, I imagine with a couple of weeks riding this will break into a medium flex and again be spot on. At first glance they appear to be well made but only time will tell. I especially like the Boa type system for tightening the boot, it works very well and is easy to use. The overall outer size is slightly bigger than my previous Salomon boots but fortunately fit into my bindings with only a couple of strap adjustments. The reasons I have given 3 and not 5 stars is mainly to do with the outer Velcro strap that unfortunately locates directly onto the Boa system housing, this appears to be a design or manufacturing fault and I am very surprised that it does so. Another smaller niggle with the design is the Velcro strap within the liner, it is a little tricky to do up in comparison with a simple speed lace system, however this is just my preference and I imagine that I will quickly get used to it. All-in if they stand the test of time then they are excellent value for money (if decathlon can fix the Velcro strap location), I have only done a couple of snowdome sessions and will update my review after a couple of weeks hard shredding on the mountain.
Super tužší, pohodlné snowboardové boty pro pokročilé. Dobře drží i ve vyšších rychlostech. Oceňuji hlavně jednoduché zavazování pomocí kolečka, které dotáhne boty ocelovým lankem.
Klare Preis/Leistungsempfehlung
Super Preis-Leistung.

A word from the product manager
Thank you.For 2 years, your feedback has told us that this model could be improved, particularly its comfort. In January 2019, we designed new liners and had them blind-tested by 10 users, comparing them with those in-store. The result was unanimous: the new liners are much more comfortable. This winter, all Foraker 500s are fitted with the new liners.Thank you for your feedback on our products, which are increasingly becoming your products.
Cable lock 2-zone tightening system
_Cable Lock: very powerful cable tightening wheel._ 2Z = 2 tightening zones. The force of the wheel is concentrated on the instep for good support, and the rip-tab at the top prevents incorrect tibia movements inside the snowboard shoes. During the design work, we did a lot of testing with and without the rip-tab on the top of the boot. It gave so much support that we've kept it.
Boot flex/stiffness
The Foraker 500 has a medium flex. It’s designed for people who hold a curve with a lot of speed (need a stiff boot) but it also allows them to be responsive during small turns or surprise bumps that require a rapid flexion-extension of the legs. Both flex and heel support are better than the Maoke 300 boot.
Heel support: level 2 liner
Foot support is essential when snowboarding, to correctly steer your board (foot in the liner, and liner in the boot). The level 2 liner applies 5 concepts: 1. liner thermoformable at home2. ”Ergonomic Heel Pad” ankle foam3. ”2 points + strap” liner tightening, 4. ”Hook & Loop Link” between liner and boot5. double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep, support and comfort.
1. thermoforming the liner on your own
1. Heat your oven, rotary heat mode, to 175°F2. Remove the inner soles of the liners, and place the liners on the oven plate with some greaseproof baking paper3. Wait 15 min4. Put the hygiene insoles back, put on a pair of ski/snowboard socks, put the liners on your feet and tighten them fully.5. Put the boots on and tighten fully5. Wait 15 minutes, standing stillThis operation can be repeated.ONLY ON A BUILT-IN OVEN 22” x 23.6” x 22”
2. ”ergonomic heel pad” ankle foam
Ankle foams fill the anatomical hollow under and behind the ankle to wedge the heel in place. The level 2 liner contains a foam made in an exclusive Wed'ze material and shape:- the shape comes from an average of 40 foot scans. It’s perfect for wedging the foot in place and adapts to everyone - the material: a soft but firm elastomer foam. You can feel the support as soon as you slip your feet inside. And when you ride, there are no hard points.
3. ”2-point + strap” liner tightening
On this liner, we kept just 2 points of tightening with laces: - at the instep - above the ankleAt the top of the liner, we replaced the 3rd lacing point with a powerful tightening strap. We therefore reduced the friction of the lace (2 points instead of 3) and concentrated the tightening force to better support the heel. On the upper part, the strap locks the liner even tighter to the shin.
4. hook & loop link between the liner and boot
We added a rip-tab on the back between the liner and the boot. The aim? To stop the liner from slipping inside the boot to help you better control your board because it’s not enough just to hold your foot in the liner: if the liner moves in the boot, you’ll be less able to control your board properly.
Insole
The insole of this boot is flat. It offers comfort and thermal insulation. If you feel you need to support your foot more securely in the liner, you have 2 options: - get a sole with a pre-formed foot arch and heel - get a sole that can be thermoformed to suit your foot. This is the most effective solution.
Storage instructions
At the end of the day, remove the liner from the upper to help with ventilation for quick drying. Also remove the liner’s inner sole for perfect drying overnight.
