Ras, together very well…

A little powder and… magic!!

Just magical, lucky for my first day with them it was 50cm of powder. What can I say, except that it is a very easy to access ski. It is super playful and in powder it gives a really great lightness and dynamism. At 350€ on sale it's cheap... And then in the end... 115cm on the skate but even on the track I managed to have fun. So yes we're not going to cut crazy curves but it goes everywhere. With good haunches, nothing can stop this ski... maybe the ice or it was the Andros trophy... but that's not its function. Its function is powder, and in this area it is 5/5!!

Powerchaser Reloaded

Why Reloaded? Easy, I tested the Val Thorens Edition prototypes in 2019, another time during another High Test and now that I have a pair... I'm writing again. The series seems a little more rigid to me than the prototypes, which is felt on the track with a slightly more aggressive side (which does not displease me in this use). This further increases its versatility. The edge grips are lively and incisive (all things considered), the handling is easy and the recovery when exiting turns is good for this type of ski. On small bends, it skids cool and on large curves by loading and playing with the radius of curvature, it passes with pleasure. The grip is amazing on very frosty surfaces compared to what we can rent 90+% of the time. Having redone the edges, their hardness is above average. By increasing the pace on the track, the rockets/spatulas do not move. No “abnormal” or unwanted vibrations. It's very healthy although it's not outside the main program. Off-road, you don't feel the difference between the prototypes and the series and it's always a pleasure. The diver pictogram is really apropos. It lifts on its own, the balance is good even if I refocused my position, it remains playful in all circumstances. It's difficult to describe it without being raving about its main program. They are also not “too tiring” even if they remain physical to carry if you want to “push” quickly and hard on large curves. We remain in control of the ski and not the other way around. The most surprising points with these slats remain their ease of access, their maneuverability and their versatility whatever happens. For more cosmetic/practical aspects, the top coat is of the same nature as the other skis in the range, which is a good sign because it is solid. The sole is black, which makes repairs easier but deprives photographers of the flashy colors that come out of the snow during photo shoots (you can't have everything). No matter the playing field(s) chosen for the day (I exclude the slalom stadium), they will be there with smiles. Test conditions: Val Thorens, during the 2019 High Test (for prototypes), a High Test or a Grande Première still in Val Tho and Saint Gervais/Megève in February 2023. Sun, cold, frost in the morning, powder, soup... The pluses • “Ease” of handling for skiers not necessarily used to fats Value for money • Coherence and flex rocker front/rear and tip/heel, balance with camber • Versatility and maneuverability incredible • Robust top coating Cons • To say finding a negative point, the Look For Who Any good skier wanting a pair of versatile fats giving banana without ruining his PEL. https://www.skipass.com/tests/ski/wedze_pow-chaser-115/2023_31191.html

Wide skiing for powder

Very pleasant off-piste during the test even if it still lacks a bit of snow. On the track it remains pleasant enough.

Soft pop player

Perfect for a day of powder Ski player all in flexibility Dynamic, it reveals its pep's with the support Impression of flotation like in a waking dream;)

Very good fat initiation ski!

Ski which turns in pivoting, flexible, overcomes difficulties well, not very aggressive in powder and of course even less on piste. Excellent in initiation

Light and wide

Good light and wide ski, Accessible but not super technical, It lacks pop in the powder

It sends the solder

Very responsive, good pop, unfortunately not tested too much in powder but it's a very good ski for those who want to widen their waist.

cool

Tolerant and at ease in powder and rough terrain On groomers and bumps it's fine Harder to handle on hard and icy snow (not his program) Good ski

For the powder

Good flotation Not made for carving but very good in powder

Panzer

If you like brutality in the puff, it's great. A panzer, thigh kid, big ski, it goes straight without thinking

The pow pow

Great skis for powder, they keep you on top like a bird. On track not terrible…

versatile

product with good response, tested on the track, quite "playful" and technical, excellent stability

Heavy

Practical skiing on the slopes and on the edge. His only problem is his weight.

A great surprise

The POW is a surprising ski with its 115cm waist and its radius of 17. We could have expected a pure powder ski but it is also very comfortable on the piste where you can take advantage of shorter turns or long carving turns. A ski worth the detour

What are ski sidecuts?

The sidecuts correspond to the width of the tip (front of the ski) of the skate (middle of the ski) and the heel (back of the ski). The wider the tip, the easier the turn entry. The narrower the waist, the stronger the grip in hard snow. The wider the waist, the more comfortable and stable in different snow conditions. Profile : Rocker/Camber/Rocker, Twintip shape. In 177 cm 139/115/134 mm, 16 m radiusIn 186 cm 139/115/134 mm,17 m radius

Choice guide

If you are a Freeriding beginner, the Rookie will be your ideal ski.If you already enjoy off-piste skiing, your choice will be between the Patrol and the Slash. The Patrol for those who love serious skis that grip and are versatile. The Slash will be for those who prefer super playful skis. Powder chasers will be delighted with Pow Chasers on their feet.

Structure

Light Woodcore Tec is a structure with a light wooden core (Palownia) reinforced with fibreglass for responsiveness and basalt fibres to cushion shocks. The advantage of this construction? It’s particularly handy for use on all the little bumps for playing and jumping. It lets the ski be playful without sacrificing grip on groomed slopes.

Rubber tip and tail

The ski has a rubber insert on the tip and tail. This insert aims to cushion distortion and reduce vibrations caused by the Rockers.

Bindings

Branded bindings LOOK PX 12 KONECT GW , Din 3.5 to 12.Compatible with soles -Alpine, GripWalk, IS05355. Suitable for boots between 260mm and 370mm.Reinforced “Full Action” toe piece with wider jaws for optimised energy transfer, lowered heel jaw and no compromise on safety with record elastic.

What is the rocker?

On a ”rocker” ski, the nose, and sometimes the tail, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski. This moves the points of contact towards the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened: they have better handling and more buoyancy on soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.
