Product Customer Reviews

So disappointed to see these discontinued, have bought them for years and have been excellent. Can you supply details of what the equivalent product is and when it will be available as the sheffield customer service manager could not find a high boot replacement product, thanks
excellent value walking boot. Stayed waterproof as promised
Great boots , great value
Great value walking boot. I live in the western isles of Scotland and walk in very rugged terrain and the boots have been excellent
For the money this is an excellent boot for walking and it is very comfortable. Spray with Quecha waterproofing spray to maintain the quality of the fabric
My daughter loves these boots. She found them very comfortable from wearing them for the first time.
Decathlon comes up trumps again! Fantastic customer service in store at Poole, friendly personal attention and suggestions on suitable boots for walking. They are so lightweight and no breaking in needed.
Very comfortable, didn't have to break them in. Wore them whilst hiking in New Zealand. Stayed warm and dry in torrential rain and snow conditions. Unfortunately torrential rain caused valley to flood and very quickly needed to get out by wading through a river. Needed proper waders/wellingtons (shin high water) but they dried in our van within a day or two and got me safely out of trouble! No smell and have worn again since this, still working perfectly even after all the abuse.
Really comfortable, hard wearing boots.
Love these boots extremely comfortable and actually look feminine too
Very comfortable to wear and kept my feet nice and warm and dry. Good value for money.
First of all I wanted the old model Forclaz 500 as they were great. Instead because these superseded the last model I got these drab looking things thinking they would be just as good if not better. Unfortunately they are nothing like the previous model. First of all after just one 5 mile walk they started to smell. No its not my feet its the shoes, they didn't get wet or anything but they smell damp (but they aren't). The soft neck that supports your ankle grips your socks and pulls them down with each step. Give it a few hundred yards and you are pulling up your socks yet again (I tore two pair of socks trying to pull them up in frustration). The worst part though is the fact that they are incredibly painful, at least the left boot was which may mean I got a dodgy pair but then that goes against quality control doesn't it?! Anyhoo... the left boot always hurt my little toe, I gave it months of long walks everyday thinking it just needed breaking in, instead it got worse and nearly ended up breaking my toe! Im still in pain now! Where the boot creases it closes right in on my toes and presses down with so much force (because the sides are reinforced) that its like someone placing an iron bar across your toes and then standing on it with every step you take. Unfortunately I am far from impressed with these boots and have actually thrown them away after only 3 months! Bring back the old Grey and Blue model.
Thanks for the feedback on this boot, we're sorry that you had all these problems. We'll feed it back to our product manager for hiking boots. Occasionally the boots will not be exactly suited to your foot and this may only become apparent after the first long walk. All our Quechua products come with a 2 year guarantee so you can take them back to your local store (if you can retrieve them) and exchange for something else. Don't hesitate to get in touch with us or your local store to find a solution.
DECATHLON UK
OK, excellent, warm, soft, I have bought these boots today in Poland - 170 zł
For the price there great. I've just started hill walking properly this year, so don't want to spend a vast amount on very technical boots. These have done great so far. Grippy and secure on boulders, plenty of support round the ankles. Waterproof through the boggy bits. Couldn't ask for better at this price.
I used these shoes for my Himalayan trek and I found it very comfortable. Good grip. Water resistance is good during drzzle and get dry soon. I used it for the trek in Maharashtra region during mansoon, it was not that good. It is more slippery on the wet stones and found it difficult to complete the trek with these shoes. It got completely drench with rain, I can feel the water bed beneath my feets...lil uncomfortable. I will recommend it during summer treks only in Himalayan range and not during rain.

Waterproofing test
Footwear waterproofing test: laboratory- and field-tested, shoes with a breathable, waterproof membrane ensure you have optimum protection from the rain. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm, half immersed in water, which simulates walking, in order to test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
3 levels of waterproofing
During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofing: 2000 flexes (around 2 hours of walking), 4000 flexes (around 4 hours of walking) and 8000 flexes (around 8 hours of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
Waterproofing level
The Forclaz 100 High waterproof boot goes beyond 4000 flexes.
Prolonging waterproofness
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, it is therefore advisable to use a gaiter or waterproof mini gaiter to protect the top of the shoe and prevent water from getting in, and also pebbles, sand etc. It is also advisable to use a re-waterproofing spray a few times a year, to restore the original water-repellent qualities and combat external stains.
Field tests
All our shoes are tested for comfort and use by representative users under conditions identical to those found when in use. Our Missions Tests link up the product manager with people who are not affiliated to Quechua to test, develop and approve the products.
Laboratory test
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to approve the quality of the following components: torn eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging.
Buying tips
Try on both shoes, standing up, wearing hiking socks. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Wear your shoes in gradually during the first hikes, to mold them to your foot.
