This sole’s design is the result of long-term research carried out in our laboratories. We chose a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and resistance. Since not all needs are the same, we are always looking for the best solution to develop on loose country trails such as unpaved forest paths.

Our Hiking Boots are designed for use on off-road trails. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our shoes and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to hiking on loose trails (e.g. unpaved forest paths) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) may lead to premature wear on your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain hiking.

Laboratory tests were also conducted to test the following elements: tearing eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our Hiking Boots.

Try on both shoes, standing up and wearing the socks you use for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: - the heel seating- the front of the foot on a downward slopeAvoid any pressure points when fitting. Feel free to walk around the store. Gradually start using your boots during your 1st few hiking trips to break them in.

There are multiple factors that may cause blisters when you walk: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important to choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your Hiking Boots.

You must choose the right sock size for your foot so that there are no additional creases in the sock: If your socks are too big, there will be too much material around your feet, if your socks are too small, they will get pulled inside the shoe.

Moisture must be effectively managed when hiking: we perspire, it’s bound to happen. These breathable shoes will wick away the moisture of your sweat. It is therefore necessary to choose a light and breathable sock as well.

We recommend that you choose a pair of socks made of polyamide, without cotton. Polyamide is a fiber that is specially chosen for its moisture-wicking properties. So when you sweat, socks made of polyamide will wick away any moisture, after which your shoes will take over the task of transferring the moisture to the outside through the ventilated mesh. For this, we recommend our Newfeel WS500 Fresh socks.

Our design team conceives, designs, and creates all of our Quechua products at the foot of Mont Blanc, in France. We test them in the field with other hikers, to check their comfort and durability.
