Great fit
I made the stupid mistake of buying two for two different uses, and I only just realized that the 3 pockets are ridiculously small, a smartphone with a 6.67" screen doesn't fit anywhere. Practical! That m annoying, because in 2024 everyone has a rather large phone, and mine is not huge. I also deplore the fact that no all-black version exists, women don't necessarily like pink or fuchsia. Even if it's discreet, it's still pink. I miss the previous version with 4 pockets, and all black, which I still have but with poor zippers.
I recommend this light product and protects from wind and rain, comfortable to wear. Thank you also for being very well received by the staff at Decalton.

easy to wear
Very nice, light and comfortable hiking jacket
Worn over 3 seasons including winter with multi-layers (merino sweaters + sleeveless down jacket). Zippers under the armpits are handy if needed. Perfectly waterproof. Advantage the silhouette.
After 5 years the zipper of one of the pockets is broken. Perfect in-between jacket. Possibly with a warm cardigan underneath. Wind and waterproof. Order the jacket again.
I usually buy all my sports items, because they have always been good and practical for me. I personally recommend Decathalon for its clothes and especially its employees who never give you a bad face and are willing to help you. Highly recommended

Composition

Cut
This jacket has a cut that fits all shapes while still looking very feminine. A warm layer, such as a fleece or light jumper, can be worn underneath. Inner lining can also provide more comfort. You can choose your usual size, or a size above if you don't want it to be worn fitted.
Removable hood
The hood can be removed thanks to the press studs. Its height can be adjusted using an elasticated cord, and its depth adjusted using a Velcro tab located at the back of the hood.
Construction of the jacket
This jacket is constructed with 2 coated layers, including a mesh lining (large mesh lining) ‘2 layers’ means there is the outer fabric and the lining. A coating is applied to the inside of the fabric, it is similar to a resin that makes the component waterproof, while remaining breathable. The inner lining of the jacket has the role of protecting this coating
Waterproofness test
Waterproofing is measured by a fabric’s resistance to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (JIS 1092 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The component of this product has a waterproof rating of 5000 mm, i.e. it can withstand the pressure exerted by a 5000 mm column of water. This is also equivalent to 5 000 Schmerbers.
Breathability test
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: little breathability Our product has a 12 RET rating
How do i restore my jacket's water-repellent properties?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.
