Product Customer Reviews

Not very functional and quality design for american consumers. 1. Blue color stains very easily surprisingly for a water resistant jacket designed for MOUNTAIN walking. 2. Sleeves too long and not enough velco on the wrist part to adjust it to where i need it to be. Very inconvenient and annoying everytime i put it on or off. There is no elastic like my marmot jacket 3. Wish the vents were around the arm pit not the same height as the pocket zipper Came to this conclusion after a few wears (duh) but was told i cannot return/exchange BECAUSE they were "used/worn" well how would i find out if your products work for me then?
Perfectly waterproof, but not very warm
Although I haven’t worn it in the rain yet I can confirm that it’s 100% windproof and the fit is perfect
Go's hood good occasional outdoor jacket performs well
I have this jacket in light blue. I cycled with it from Sweden to Spain last autumn, and I can say that it's super water proof. And so pretty, it fits SO nicely. Love this jacket!!!
very comfortable
Lovely fit, very comfortable and kept out the wind and rain on Snowdon.
Weight loss prompted me to downsize. I’ve gone for exactly the same model and couldn’t be happier! Super waterproof. Very breathable.
Nice jacket, very happy with the fit.
Appears to be a good quality waterproof. Taped seams. Nice looking. Light weight and easy to store away in your backpack.
very pleased with this jacket and a good fit.
Well made, excellent fit, especially the hood. Good quality fabric, not too flimsy and excellent value - much cheaper and nicer than my old famous name jacket.
I love this jacket, it's a lovely colour and style and waterproof.
Great coat, well made and a nice fit for my wife. Its not as short as most waterproofs are becoming these days. Pockets are a good size as is the hood. Coat is both waterproof and breathable, unless your doing some serious outdoor stuff in some serious conditions - why pay more.
Really good value, smart appearance, repels rain very well.

Component waterproofing
This garment was approved in a shower test in 26 gallons of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This reproduces the conditions of a big mountain storm. Garment's waterproof properties linked to fabric used, watertight seams and assembly process .The seams of your MH500 jacket are 100% sealed.
Waterproof zippers
Waterproof zippers on main fastening and 2 outer hand pockets to guarantee the jacket waterproofing.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapor generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 9
Breathability of the garment
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops technical solutions (zippers, ventilation, mesh, etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its trekking jackets and overpants (Forclaz, Bionnassay and Helium lines. These ventilation systems both allow temperature regulation inside the garment and help wick away perspiration generated by the body during exercise.
Component with hydrophilic membrane
The component of your MH500 jacket consists of a membrane. A membrane like a very fine plastic film (polyurethane), making the component waterproof while remaining breathable. A membrane has the advantage of being softer, lighter, more durable and often more breathable than the coating. The coating is similar to a paint layer applied to the inside of the fabric. It is often less costly than a membrane and requires a lining for protection.
3-layer component
The MH500 jacket component is named "3 layer." The membrane is, in fact, bonded between the inner layer and the outer layer of the component (hence the name 3-layer component). This construction helps the membrane last longer and boosts the component's performance. In the case of 2-layer components, the membrane is bonded to the outer fabric only; the protective inner lining is free. This construction costs less but is generally more cumbersome.
Water-repellent component
A fabric is water-repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. A fabric becomes water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (recommended after every 3 washes). All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment.
Additional recommended products
MH500 overpants protect the lower half of your body for a complete and effective rain protection system for your mountain outings. Care products: reproofing spray or liquid for use in the washing machine restores water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimizes the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime.
Comparative note on the environmental impact of products
