Product Customer Reviews

Went on a road trip to Oregon, doing a lot of hikes on beaches, mud etc. They were great! Never got a blister with these and definitely good value.
My wife is from Barcelona, she loved shopping at Decathlon. Now she is here in the USA, and is thrilled to be able to purchase the shoes she loves so much. She is very pleased with this shoe,of course.
Shoes are especially good for hiking. It is trully waterproof and very comfortable. Has only minor disadvantage on wet rocks, a little slippery.
Comfortable shoe and great value
Great for wet weather, keeps feet dry and are comfortable. Walked on very rough rocky ground but cushioned feet very well.
Excellent grip , very helpful in climbing
Good
Hello Lourdes,
Thank you for the 5-star review for our hiking boots. We are delighted to know you love your new purchase with us. Have a great day. :)
Anna
Live these shoes. Bought a pair in Portugal and left them in my place there and now needed a pair for here.
Perfect considering the price
Broke these in a few times over the summer in the dry, just worn them & got caught in a heavy shower & they ARE NOT WATERPROOF EVEN my thick socks are wet through. VERY DISAPPOINTED AVOID THESE SHOES :(
Excellent Value for money for a walking shoe that gives comfort and confidence
According to the wearer these tick all the required boxes at a reasonable price
Just bought another pair after the last ones have worn out. Had them for a few years and definitely had my wear out of them. Great value and comfortable
Bought first pair of these Nov 19. During lockdown #1 did 350 miles in them! Still in use for an outdoor job, but bought second identical pair recently. Excellent fitting, good value shoes for park/ road/ footpath and low level walking.
We had just had our son's feet measured at a local shoe shop, before ordering online, but the size we ordered based on that was far too small. Very disappointing as now have to order the next size up and pay postage again. Nice looking shoes, but would recommend going a size up.

Outsole with grip
The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded this certification, boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip level on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field and in the mountains, using a panel of representative testers over 300 miles
Waterproofing test
In a laboratory, the boot is immersed in water to mid-height on a mechanical arm that simulates a number of steps. With this test we can determine a time and number of miles that the boot can walk while staying dry. - 2,000 bends, about 30 minutes of hiking - 10,000 bends, about 3 hours - 30,000 bends, approximately 8 hours - 50,000 bends, approximately 12 hours Then we confirm that the boot keeps its promises in use on the ground and in the rain.
Prolonging waterproofness
To keep your feet dry, we advise you to use a gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of your boots and prevent water and also pebbles and sand from getting in We advise re-waterproofing your boots twice a year using a re-proofing agent (search for ‘waterproofing’ on our decathlon website) that will help you restore the original water-repellent qualities and fight against stains on the outside.
What boot size should you choose?
‘The most important thing is to try on several styles of boots to find the one most suited to you! You can take a size above your usual one to prevent the toes from bumping into the toe box when going downhill, provided the foot is properly supported to avoid friction. Tip: Keep your toenails short and, before descending, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding forward inside the boot."
Buying tips / how do you try your boots on?
Some Decathlon stores are equipped with a test course. 1. Try on both boots while standing, with the socks worn for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces, taking care to correctly start the tightening. 3. Check 2 points: - The heel does not come up before the boot when you walk uphill. - The foot does not slide and the toes do not press against the front when going downhill. 4. Try on several sizes and models. Break them in gradually to adapt them to your foot.
Optimize the capabilities of your boots: replace your insoles!
The original insole in your boots is designed to accommodate most feet. A change of insole can bring: 1. Improved support: Some soles are preformed or reinforced to better support the arch of the foot. 2. More comfort: The insoles can also provide heat and/or cushioning. 3. Longer life: Restore the support and comfort of your boots by replacing the insole each season.
Field tests
All our boots are tested for initial comfort and comfort in use by hikers (who do not work for Decathlon) under the same conditions you will encounter yourself when hiking. The aim is to further develop the product and validate it as objectively as possible, for your greatest satisfaction.
Laboratory tests
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to validate the following elements: torn eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging.
