Hurt feet

Hurt feet. When I hiking for around 7km, it starts hurt my left foot. Some hard material inside. Quality and design is not good enough.

Hi Yana,

Thank you for taking the time to review your MH100 Mid Hiking Boot. We are sorry to hear that it wasn't as expected. We would be more than happy to exchange or refund this and check for manufacturing faults as there should be no "hard material" at the location described.

Thank you again for taking the time to review.

Very Narrow

I have fairly wide feet so went up a size in these as recommended by the Decathlon sizing guide. They are SO narrow...even with thin socks my feet were squashed across the toe and ball of foot area...I don't know how anyone with even an average width of foot would manage. They would have been too long anyway unfortunately.

Good value

Waterproof, comfortable and warm

Boots were rubbish and customer service were rubbi

I bought these boots because of the wet weather at the moment, this is my first purchase from Decathlon, but when they arrived I went to try them on and the top lace eye fell off. I contacted customer service and they said as compensation for receiving faulty goods I wouldn’t have to pay to return them (so they observed my statutory rights) I think this will be my first and last purchase from Decathlon. Not impressed with boots that fall apart before being worn or customer service.

Great value

Nice boots, look good, comfy, never used them for climbing yet, been using them for general use, lovely price,

Brilliant

Hiked up snowdon with these. Absolutely no complain. Trust me the weather was absolutely testing. Everywhere was wet and it even snowed. This pair was so comfy and kept my feet dry and warm. Absolutely will recommend.

Faulty shoes

Hello, I've bought QUECHUA MH100 MID WOMENS WATERPROOF WALKING BOOTS - BROWN in Oxford store (UK). I'm very disappointed with the shoes - I bought them for a hiking trip in Scotland. It seems the right shoe has a defect - the sole of the shoe doesn't have the same support comparing to the left shoe. I used the shoes for just a day as I didn't feel comfortable enough to use them for my whole one week trip. I ended up using my nike running shoes as I didn't have any alternative.

Comfortable as expected

Amazing walking boots, will buy again

Great Lightweight Waterproof Boot

Bought these boots to wear whilst training for and taking part in the National Three Peaks challenge and have not been disappointed. Whilst being light they are still extremely supportive and are well cushioned underfoot. We experienced awful weather during our challenge and also had to walk through deep puddles and streams. My feet stayed dry until the water was deeper than the boot itself. Just goes to show you don't need to pay silly money for a good quality product.

Fantastic boots!

I bought these for an 85 mile walk - fully expecting I would need to also use my traditional walking boots but I didn’t! These were amazing. So comfortable, lightweight and waterproof. I didn’t get even one blister! Would highly recommend -also fantastic value for money

Brilliant

Had them before, bought them again. Really good value. Purchased them again after 5 years wearing the 1st ones

Perfect

Brilliant boots. Bought them a few weeks ago, have been on several walks. Great traction. Did not need breaking in, comfortable from the first time wearing. Walked 22 km yesterday, suitable for all terrain, waterproof to the end, through muddy fields. Couldn't fault.

dry weather walking boots

They look good and so far they have performed well. They are comfortable and lightweight. I think they will be ideal for my walking holiday in Tuscany. They have a fairly robust scuff/mud guard on the front and I'm sure if I used them in wet weather they wouldn't let me down

Sustainable development information

For the fabric covering the insole of these boots, we dye the yarn at source in order to reduce the environmental impact. Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we use a bulk dyeing process that involves adding the color pigments when the thread itself is produced.

Sole with grip

The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we assess the quality of our soles in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of representative testers over 310 miles

Waterproofing test

In the laboratory, the boot is placed in water up to the middle of the upper on a mechanical arm that flexes the boot to simulate a number of steps. With this test, we can determine a time and number of miles that the boot can walk while staying dry. Then we validate this in the field and in the rain to make sure that the boot keeps its promises in use.

Making waterproofing last longer

To keep your feet dry, we advise you to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of your boots and prevent water, pebbles, and sand from getting in. We advise re-waterproofing your boots twice a year using a re-waterproofing agent (search for ‘waterproofing’ on our Decathlon website) which will help you restore the original water-repellent qualities and help prevent stains on the outside.

Which size should you select?

The most important thing is to try on several sizes and styles of boots to find the one most suited to you! You can take a size above your usual one to prevent the toes from bumping into the toe box when going downhill, provided the foot is properly supported to avoid friction. Tip: Keep your toenails short and, before a long descent, check that your lacing is tight enough to prevent your foot from sliding forward inside the boot.

Buying tips / how do you try your boots on?

Some Decathlon stores have a test route. 1. Try on both boots, standing up and wearing the socks you use for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces, taking care to correctly balance the tightening. 3. Check 2 points: - The heel does not come up before the boot when you walk uphill. - The foot does not slide and the toes do not press against the front when going downhill. 4. Try on several sizes and models. Break them in gradually to adapt them to your foot.

Which socks?

A waterproof boot will be less breathable than a non-waterproof boot. Socks like the MH500, MH520, and MH900 with a high or medium upper (adapted to the height of the boot) are therefore preferable for wicking away perspiration and reducing friction.

Optimize the capabilities of your boots: replace your insoles!

The original insole in your boots is designed to accommodate most feet. A change of insole can bring: 1. Improved support: Some soles are preformed or reinforced to better support the arch of the foot. 2. More comfort: The insoles can also provide heat and/or cushioning. 3. Longer life: Restore the support and comfort of your boots by replacing the insole each season.

Lab tests

Further laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and webbing, assembly, toxicology, UV resistance, sole and upper component abrasion, accelerated aging.

How should you look after your boots?

- Leave to air-dry. - Remove dry mud with a stiff brush. - For stains, clean with a brush and a little warm water - Leave to dry - Spray with a re-waterproofing agent to restore the water-repellent properties of the upper.
