Quechua NH100 Mid-Height Hiking Shoes, Women's,granite

Quechua; not enough foot support.

The boot itself is nice and comfortable. They are ok for short walks and short flat hikes. Not recommended for hikes longer than 3 miles with very rock trail or for intense inclines. I attempted to do a 6-mile hike and my front bottom of my foot was really hurting. I wish I could return them but according to Decathlon's return policy, I can't.

Hi, Angelica! Thanks for the review.

Sorry to hear about your experience. We'd like to offer you a return on these shoes and we can definitely help you pick out a sturdier pair for more demanding hikes down the line. We want to make sure you can get back out there in a good, durable, and comfy pair!

I thought they would be too big, but the size is perfect. Great outdoor fall shoes.

Incredibly good value walking boots

Comfortable immediately, lasting really well, absolute bargain walking boot. Fabulous in dry weather but obviously not waterproof. They couldn't be at that price!

Good value

Fed up of buying expensive hiking boots only to have them leak after a few months. These have been great

Cheap Boots

Good walking boots which are the second pair my wife has bought in the last few months. She wears 1 pair whilst the other is drying out after dog walking.

Good boot - but....

I bought these boots because I was tired of the really heavy leather ones I had that had no 'give' in them. These arrived. Very very comfortable and I put them on immediately to take the dog around the field. It was a dry morning but there was a dew on the field. My feet got wet - socks were sopping wet. HOWEVER I have now read the product description and it specifies that these boots were designed for dry weather. I didn't read that bit properly when I bought them. So, what's my verdict? I think they are amazingly comfortable and wore them for 12 hours yesterday. But not sure I'll be able to wear them on any major walks because they let in too much water and even if the weather is dry - see manufacturers statement - the ground may not be and walking properly in woods, or moors you are bound to get wet feet. They were not expensive and overall I am not unhappy.

Good overall walking boot

Great product and value for money

A little tight

Ordered these as a 39 but found they were a little nit tight - wouldn't have been able to wear decent walking socks. Had to return

Amazing

For the price I wasn't expecting much, but I am so surprised. Would recommend to everyone

Additional Product Information

Composition

Outer sole of

  • 100% Rubber - Thermoplastic

Upper of

  • 55% Polyurethane
  • 45% Polyester cationic

Lining and sock of

  • 50% Ethylene vinyl acetate
  • 50% Polyester cationic

Crosscontact sole

The design of the this sole was the subject of extensive research in our laboratories. It consists of a specific rubber formulation to offer the best compromise between grip and traction. The design of the sole on the NH100 mid shoe will provide more traction than grip. Grip consists of not slipping on soft ground (greasy or dry). Traction consists of not slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).

Designed for use on country footpaths

Our hiking footwear is designed for use on country footpaths. Indeed, we choose the components of the sole and upper of our boots and test them to ensure that they are ideally suited to hiking on loose trails (e.g. forest paths made of soil) or rocky trails (e.g. rocky coastal paths). Road use (asphalt) can accelerate the wear of your shoes and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for mountain walking.

Laboratory testing

Laboratory tests are conducted to test the following elements: secure attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging. These tests allow us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking shoes.

How do you choose the right shoe size

Try on both shoes, standing up, with walking socks. Try several models, several sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the heel seating and the front of the foot on a downward slope. Avoid any pressure points when fitting. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Break in your shoes gradually during their first hikes to adapt them to your foot.

The shoe/sock combination has an important role.

Many different factors cause blisters during hikes: rubbing, a crease in the sock, moisture, a shoe size that is too small or too big, etc. It is therefore important choose the right size and to have socks made of the right material for your hiking shoes.

How do you choose the size of your hiking socks

You need to choose the right sock size for your foot to avoid any additional creasing in the sock: either because the sock is too big and therefore there is too much fabric around your foot, or because the sock is too small and is pulled toward the inside of the shoe.

How do you choose the fabric of your hiking socks

Moisture must be effectively managed when hiking: We sweat, it’s bound to happen. If your boot is breathable, it will eliminate the moisture of your perspiration: so you also have to choose a light and breathable sock If your shoe is largely waterproof, to protect you from the humidity of the rain, you will not make the same selection: it is preferable to buy socks that will absorb perspiration, to keep the moisture as far away as possible from your foot.

Which socks are adapted to the nh100 mid-height shoe?

These shoes offer a little breathability but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. So the NH100 high socks will be the right socks for you: they contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit construction under the sock that wicks moisture away from your foot. And they are high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It is an excellent combination to reduce the chance of blisters.

Warranty

Our hiking shoes are guaranteed for 2 years. Our commitment? To offer you long-lasting products that you can use on all your country walks. Because the products we love the most are those that have had great experiences and still have lots of life in them!

Product testing

It is in France, at the foot of the Mont Blanc, that our design team imagined, thought up and designed the Quechua products. We test them in the field with other campers to assure ourselves of their comfort and resistance. We walk on as many footpaths as possible, like the Forest of Fontainebleau or those in Brittany for example, and in all weathers. These moments involve a lot of discussions. We use this to get your feedback and prepare our future collections!
