"We designed this boot to offer a good compromise between comfort and easy tightening.
New improvements for 2017-2018 include:

Why the name
"The Maoke mountain peaks reach 4,884 m in Indonesia. The station was the second highest in the world when it was set up in 1979, before the glacier melt. Our women's boots are named after them. The numbers (300 & 500) indicate their foot support. Because the faster you go when snowboarding, the more strain you place on the board through your boot: So you're foot must be supported sufficiently in the boot to minimize disruptive incorrect foot movements.
Fast Lock 2-zone tightening system
"The Maoke 300 easy-tightening system was inspired by a snowboard instructor's comment: we need to do away with traditional laces that are
tied up, I spend too much time beginning my lessons by tightening my clients' laces".
We've improved that this winter by adding a rip-tab on the tibia for perfect fastening.
1. Quick and powerful tightening concentrated on the instep, to support the foot.
2. A rip-tab on the tibia to eliminate the gap between the tibia and the tongue."
Boot rigidity and flex
The introduction of the soft flex was a deliberate decision. It is comfortable to use, reduces physical fatigue and allows you to fully enjoy your day on the snow. It also offers the advantage of helping beginners adopt a good position on their board: ankles are flexed to avoid stiff legs. You have to react quickly when you're snowboarding, so you need to have bend in your knees. Starting with a boot that's too stiff will hinder your progress.
Heel support: level 1 liner
"Foot support is essential when snowboarding in order to correctly steer your board. The foot must be well supported in the liner, and the liner well supported in the boot.
The level 1 liner applies 5 concepts:
- thermoformable liner alone, at home,
- comfort heel pad ankle foam,
- 3-point liner fastening,
- hook & loop link between the liner and boot,
- double foam: double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep, for support and comfort."
Autonomous liner thermoforming
"- Preheat your oven to 176°F.
- Remove the hygiene insoles from the liners and put the liners on a sheet of normal baking paper on a baking tray.
- Leave in the oven for 15 minutes.
- Put the hygiene insoles back and then, with a pair of ski/snowboard socks, put the liners on your feet and tighten them as you see fit. Put on and tighten your shoes.
- Wait for 15 minutes. It's ready!
You can repeat as often as necessary."
Comfort heel pad ankle foam
"Ankle foam fills the hollow below and behind the ankle to wedge the heel in well.
The level 1 liner has 10-mm thick, single material, quite soft ankle foam.
The aim is to provide the right heel/foot support for the type of boot. Because the faster you go, the greater the energy involved, and the more foot support you need. Comfort foam meets this objective, by providing optimum comfort for everyone.
3-point liner fastening
"3-point tightening (instead of 4-point) offers 2 big advantages:
- support: it blocks the heel very well because there is less lace-related rubbing and a maximum amount of energy is transferred to the 3rd and final tightening point, situated at the ankle for optimum support.
- warmth: because there is no 4th tightening point at the instep, the blood flows more easily to the toes. This keeps your toes warm."
Hook & loop link between the liner and boot
"We've added a rip-tab between the liner and the boot, at the back.
The aim? To help prevent the liner from slipping inside the boot, so it's easier to steer the board."
Base: grip, foothold, cushioning and thermal insulation
"Our new Ultralight sole is 100% EVA.
EVA is a very light material (80% air).
This design is able to resist abrasion whilst upholding the cushioning properties.
It is naturally very insulating and protects from the cold where it is raised from the ground.
We have added large studs to offer superior traction. They are spaced quite far apart to prevent snow from getting stuck."
