I am a beginner and have been using these boots for a while now. They are very comfortable, easy to walk with, easy to put on and take off. They also look great. My Salomon bidings didn’t damage them at all. Very happy with my purchase, it’s a great product that I can only recommend.
great boots for novice to intermediate riders and brilliant price
We have redesigned this boot for the 2017-2018 season by improving its support and clamping system: addition of a rip-tab at the shin to close the gap between the shin and the tongue and to concentrate lace tightening on the instep. We always listen to our customers' feedback, and for this 2018/19 winter season we decided to adjust the position of the boot's loops to better support the foot.
The boot's easy tightening system was created following a comment made by one of our instructors: "we have to do away with traditional laces that need to be tied up, I spend too much time beginning my lessons by tightening my clients' laces" 1. Quick and powerful tightening concentrated at the instep, to support the foot. 2. A rip-tab at the shins to close the gap between the shins and the tongue.
This boot was deliberately designed with a soft flex. It is comfortable to use, reduces physical fatigue and allows you to fully enjoy your day on the snow. It also has the benefit of helping beginners adopt a good position on their board: flexed ankles to prevent straightening the legs. In order to have the reactivity required for snowboarding, you need to keep your knees bent. Beginning with a boot that is too stiff puts you at a disadvantage.
Foot support is essential when snowboarding, to be able to correctly steer your board (the foot inside the liner and the liner inside the boot). The level 1 liner uses the following 5 technologies: 1. Thermoformable liner alone, at home 2. Comfort Heel Pad ankle foam 3. "3-point" liner fastening 4. Hook and Loop Link between the liner and boot 5. Double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep: support and comfort.
1. Heat your oven to 175°F on convection mode 2. Remove the inner soles from the sock liners and place the sock liners on the oven rack covered with a sheet of baking paper 3. Wait 15 minutes 4. While wearing a pair of ski-snowboard socks, put the insoles back in place, put the sock liners on your feet and tighten them fully. 5. Put the boots on and tighten fully 5. Wait for 15 minutes, without moving. Repeat as often as you like. ONLY ON BUILT-IN OVENS 22" x 23.6" x 22"
The ankle foam padding fills the space below and behind the ankle in order to secure the heel. The level 1 liner has 10 mm thick single-material ankle foam that is quite soft. The aim is to provide the right heel-foot support for the type of boot. Indeed, the faster you go, the more energy is involved, hence, the more foot support you will need. The Comfort Foam padding fulfills this goal by providing maximum comfort for all.
A 3-point tightening system (rather than a 4-point system) has 2 big advantages: - support: it is very good at securing the heel in place because there's less friction with the laces and it maximizes the energy transferred to the 3rd and final tightening point, situated at the ankle for optimum support - warmth: the lack of a 4th tightening point at the instep allows the blood to flow more easily to the toes. This keeps your toes warm.
We've added a rip-tab at the back between the sock liner and the boot. The aim? To reduce slippage of the sock liner inside the boot so that you can control your board better because it is not enough to simply keep your foot in the sock liner: if the sock liner moves inside the boot, you will not be able to steer your board as well.
We have added a 2nd thickness of foam on the tongue and at the instep for the following 2 reasons: - to hold the foot more securely at the bottom of the sock liner - to increase comfort by preventing the laces from cutting off blood flow in the high-pressure areas
This boot has a flat insole. It provides comfort and thermal insulation. If you feel the need to secure your foot more tightly in the sock liner, you have the following 2 options: - buy a pre-formed sole at the arch and heel of the foot - buy a sole that can be thermoformed to the shape of your foot. This is the most efficient solution.
Our Ultralight sole is made only of EVA. EVA is a very light material with 80% air. This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects against the cold rising from the ground. We designed a tread pattern with large lugs to provide very good grip. They are spaced quite far apart so that any accumulated snow can be easily removed.
Imported
At the end of the day, remove the sock liner from the boot to allow air to flow more freely inside and speed up drying. Also, remove the insole from the liner to dry fully overnight.
