Decathlon Becomes Co-Namer of the AG2R Cycling Team

Drumroll please. (Or maybe an “allez, allez!) Starting January 2024, Decathlon proudly becomes a co-title sponsor of the French pro cycling team for the next five years. Under the official new name, the riders of the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team will compete at the biggest international races riding bikes from our very own Van Rysel cycling brand.

Team riders will be equipped by our in-house brand Van Rysel with the following world-class bikes and kit:

“We will be with the riders on every step. We are co-creating, we are working hand in hand, on the bikes, helmets, glasses to meet their performance need at the highest level. These products will then be available to the public,” said our CEO Barbara Coppola.

Supporting athletes from the start

Since we developed our first bikes in 1986, cycling has been a pivotal part of who we are. And thirty-eight years later, we’re excited to take another big pedal forward as a co-sponsor of a major cycling team.

Increasingly popular across the globe, cycling is one of the most watched sports in the world—the Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale team alone brings together cyclists from thirteen different counties. That’s why we’re so excited to support these athletes and show our commitment on a global stage. This partnership is a chance to demonstrate how serious we are about this level of athleticism and just what Van Rysel can do as a significant brand in the professional peloton arena.

Beginning in the early 2000s, it's been our goal to partner with the best athletes, teams, federations, and industrial partners to develop products of excellence. In particular, this new partnership with the French pro cycling team perfectly illustrates our purpose: Move people through the wonders of sport.
