Excellent Tent

I purchased this tent a couple of weeks ago and have just used it for three nights over the New Year break. Very easy to set up, fits a king size blow up matress perfectly and the little front portico was enough room for shoes and two small bags. Two kids and I were very comfortable in this little tent. Pack down was easy after watching a you tube video a couple of times. First time camping alone as a mum and this tent was perfect to manage by myself.

Perfect Quick Setup Solution

Love this tent. I had been using a large 2 person swag and found it very cumbersome and difficult to pack away. I already own a small one-man 2 second tent and decided to investigate what was now available in a larger size. I stumbled across the Queschua 2 Second 3 XL while visiting Decathlon for some warm cloths. One of the staff was only too happy to demo the tent in the store. Awesome. Exactly what I was after. First night camping at Craig's Hut near Mt Stirling and I was set up in no time. There was some wind and rain around so I added some of the guy lines. That night it snowed and I awoke perfectly dry, warm and comfortable with the tent covered in snow and ice. Had to pack it up wet but when I erected it the next night the interior was still perfectly dry. I didn't get a dry night until the fifth night whilst heading back home to Queensland. Each time I put up the tent I was amazed that the interior was still completely dry. The pack-up process is simple with color coded clips and it folds up to a compact circle at around 5kgs. Plenty of space inside and easily sleeps two people. Would absolutely recommend it.

Great tent, innovative.

We bought this tent 2 weeks ago and have been using it for a 10 days Easter Holiday camping with 2 adults and a baby. Putting up a tent within 60 seconds is a bliss. Arriving late at night and no trouble at all to simply unclick it and there it stands. While our neighbors were still struggling in the dusk and wind to get theirs sorted. And taking it down within two minutes is also really practical. Apart from that it does hardly flutters in the wind it is nice and quiet. Being dark and fresh making it considerably cooler during the day and enables us (and more important our baby) to sleep in it during the early hours of the day which is also really nice. The design is great. It is rock solid in strong winds. Being very wide and relatively low. And it looks good Almost like a space ship ;) Two things we have suggestions to improve: Reflective tent lines. (we put those on and that is useful as the lines are close on both sides of the door, making it easy to trip over) and there is a bit to much tension on the front door to easily open it. I added better grips to the zippers, however that is only so much of an improvement as the zipper still is prone to get stuck under the cloth that covers it to make it watertight, and still needs to be pulled with a bit too much force, not good for durability. I have not tested silicon spray on it but will do so, to see if that helps. All in all a great tent a very good design and good value for money. Highly recommended

My First Tent and I Am Happy

We have already used this for 3 weekend camping trips and we are happy with the product. Its spacious enough for me, my wife and 3 year old kid. There is enough headroom for all of us (I am 5 ft 6 and my wife 5ft 5) and never felt cramped. Its too easy to put it up and now has been tested in a windy condition as well - it remains stable. Space near exit is enough to keep a small bag and your shoes so that they dont get wet because of dew. Haven't used in rain yet but performed well during dew fall. Putting it off is a bit of work but then its not too difficult and can easily be done singlehandedly. I have a small car and so feel bit constrained in terms of space but we are able to manage till now. Happy to recommend.

Great buy

Brought this from the Saumur store whilst on holiday this July/August. A little concerned as I suffer with claustrophobia, however slept next to door and felt fine. Even when using the quecha air seconds bed, (best mattress we've ever had camping). This is an additional tent to our 5 birth vango, we want to use as a overnight stop tent on way to and from main site and a bit of touring. Just the two of us inside and using the Watched the videos several times on setting up/down which were really helpful. Got it bag in the bag first time no problem, and we'rea pair of 60 year olds, but when showing how great it is to our sons it took a few goes but no regrets on buying this. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this tent!

This is an absolute gem of a tent! We have a large tent we use as a family but often I’ll just take my two boys away (12 & 9) for a spontaneous weekend away. It’s ridiculously easy to put up, in minutes including all pegs and ropes. And honestly takes under 5 minutes to pack back up again (it actually fits back in the bag every time!!!) It’s very spacious, they have managed happily with 4 boys (12 & 13 yr olds) and the blackout really is pitch black so they managed to actually sleep in! Would 100% recommend

Single mom of a two year old

Bought this tent to help with ease of setting up and putting away compared to a previous poled tent. Game changer! Had tutorial in decathlon on how to put back in bag, YouTube refresher video and I did perfectly first time. Love it’s cool for my little one to play in when too hot outside and no shade and black outs are so much more comfortable. I really didn’t believe it would make such a difference. Very happy mom

Does not work for me

This tent is very easy to erect and goes up fast. Just chuck it out of the bag and bang in around 8 pegs. It is also a nice size for 2 or 3 people, or maybe 4 small children. The two side openings work well for air flow and as dog door. The black out also works well being dark enough to sleep in well after dawn. It is a well designed tent; same good quality as other Decathlon tents I have. HOWEVER, putting it away is a totally different deal. I have a couple of smaller pop up sun shelters and once you have the knack they pack up fine. This tent is a nightmare to pack up. It’s essentially a giant coiled spring. There are clear instructions explaining how to connect various clips together to tame the spring, but it is still a nightmare. My kids have black-out Colman tents that take a couple of minutes more to put up but are so much easier to pack up. I hoped that I would get the knack of this tent, but have now finally been defeated as I have broken two of the struts packing it up, so it’s now going to the tip. I actually feel relieved that I will never have to wrestle with this tent again. I just wish I had returned as soon as I realised this was not the tent for me.

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to review our 2 Seconds XL 3P tent. I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with this product. Being our biggest pop-up tent, this one is definitely a bit trickier to pack away than the smaller versions, however using the correct technique it's still possible!

If it's not too late I would encourage you to visit your nearest store where they may be able to help you with this issue.

Thanks again for the review.

Awesome Tent

I have had many tents and this one is great. In the sun the blackout is awesome, the tent stays far cooler than any tent I've previously owned. It's easy to put up (and pretty easy to put down), it has withstood pretty heavy rain no problems and it has good space for a double airbed and still plenty of inside storage so good for 2 for a short stay and great for one! Decathlon don't seem to like quoting hydrostatic head figures, but I believe it is only 2000mm which is low for a tent, but so far no problems and I've slept in it during some quite heavy rain. My only complaint is that when packed it's a large disk which is pretty awkward to get in the car, which is why I've only given it 4 stars. I have ended up also buying the smaller version just because of this reason as they fit in much easier, but this tent has far more space inside.

The best tent ever

Ive owned lots of tents and if something happened to this one Id just go out and buy another exactly the same Easy to put up and the ability to sleep in late and cooler than any other tent is worth its weight in gold.

Fab little tent

What a great little tent. It’s so easy to pitch and after watching a video tutorial it’s a doddle to pack away. We have used it a few times in the outer Hebrides and had every kind of weather thrown at it. It held up extremely well. My only negative is the front porch does let in a little rain in and the end of our bed was a little damp. But it was during a very windy storm whilst wild camping on north Uist. All in all I would recommend. It’s quite spacious for two but think it would be snug for three.

Brilliant tent !!

Easy to erect, easy to pack. Love it !!!

Additional Product Information

Composition

Double roof: 100.0% Polyester ; Inner fabric: 100.0% Polyester ; Floor mat: 100.0% Polyethylene ; Pole: 100.0% Glass Fiber ; Carry bag: 100.0% Polyester

Pitching/folding

Quick to pitch. Free-standing tent (place it wherever you like, and if there's no wind, no need for pegs = ready to use!). Easy to fold thanks to the Easy guiding system.

Mattress compatibility

We recommend you use the tent with the self-inflating or backpacking mattress measuring 23.6” maximum. We do not recommend the use of inflating mattresses over 2.4” height in this tent due to the reduction in living space and resistance to condensation.

Ventilation

Flysheet with 2 side panels that can be opened out and attached to the side guy ropes (opens from the inside). Air can circulate in the bedroom. 2 spaces between the flysheet and the ground on each side in the bedroom to enable the air to renew itself and limit natural condensation. Fresh concept to reduce the heat from the sun.

Waterproofing

All Quechua tents are validated in a laboratory (whole tent under 200 L/sqm/h for 4 hours), as well as in the field. (2000 mm PU-coated polyester fly sheet, 4.2 oz/sqm polyethylene groundsheet, all seams sealed using thermobonded tape). A breathable polyester bedroom under the flysheet means you aren't in contact with the condensation that forms naturally on the inside of the flysheet.

Wind-resistance

We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side of the tent to the wind. A properly pitched tent with all guy ropes fitted around the tent must remain habitable in wind speeds up to 30 mph near the ground (Force 6).

Warranty / after-sales service

As designers and users who love our playing field, we care about the durability of our products, that is why all our tents are designed to be repairable. Spare parts and pole repairs are available from your Decathlon workshop.

Storage instructions

Storage: after use or cleaning, do not store your tent until it is perfectly dry to prevent odors and mold from forming.
