This particular edition of the Forclaz sleeping bag is superbly compatible with sub-zero temperatures.
Product is overall good but, needs improvement in stiching
Usually a big decathlon fan but extremely disappointed with this sleeping bag. I was cold on a 9 degrees night and the material feels very cheap and uncomfortable to sleep in. Will be returning this item. My friend bought a 20 pound bag from Amazon, and I am sad to say it was better quality than mine.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to review our Forclaz Trekking Sleeping Bag 0c.
I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with this product, the nights in Scotland can definitely be chilly, even in Mid-summer!
However the bag should be able to keep you warm in such conditions, to be honest I'm a little surprised, because I have a 0 degree rated Forclaz bag, although the Trek 900 Down version and in similar conditions find it too warm if anything!
I have a couple of suggestions to help keep you warm, such as using an appropriate insulating sleeping mat such as our Trek 100 Forclaz Foam Mattress. If there is a lot of space inside the bag this can also prevent the insulation from working properly, you can fill any excess space with spare clothes which should help. Wearing a thin hat, some warm socks and maybe a thin thermal base layer could also help. Also using a sleeping bag liner can improve slightly the thermal properties of the bag and also help keep it clean.
That being said, if you are unhappy with the bag I would invite you to pop in to your closest store, where I'm sure they could find a solution for you.
I'm sorry again to hear about your bad experience, I hope you managed to enjoy the rest of your trip!
Regards

Bag is good for summer hiking in Himalayas
Toutefois assez volumineux

Use temperature:
All our sleeping bags display the temperature ratings, tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX), in accordance with the European NF ISO 23537 standard (2017). The comfort temperature is the lower limit at which the user, in a relaxed pose, is in overall thermal equilibrium and feels neither too cold nor too hot (for a standard woman in normal conditions of use). Choose your sleeping bag according to this measure.
What are the temperatures ratings?
Limit temperature: temperature at which the user huddled up in the sleeping bag is generally in thermal equilibrium and feels neither too cold nor too hot (defined for a standard man and in normal conditions of use). We recommend you use an insulating mattress to optimize your thermal comfort. This sleeping bag is filled with synthetic fill to guarantee performance even in damp conditions.
What you need to know about temperatures:
A sleeping bag does not produce heat but retains the heat produced by the body. If you are tired and cold and you slip inside a cold, damp sleeping bag, it is very likely that you will feel cold no matter how good your sleeping bag is! These temperatures therefore depend on the person's resistance to cold (bulk, fatigue, etc.), equipment (mattress with insulation, etc.), clothing (naked, underwear, etc.) and weather conditions (humidity, wind, etc.).
For greater comfort, before getting into your sleeping bag:
Dress simply (1 layer of clothing is enough). Keep your head, hands and feet warm: use hats, gloves, socks, bed warmers, rubbing, etc. A flask filled with hot water can be used as a hot water bottle (if it can't open by accident !) Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is transformed into heat). However you should do this without moving as this can cause drafts of cold air. Use a sleeping bag liner to maximize the heat inside your sleeping bag.
Shape:
"Generous" mummy shape: wide at the shoulders and tighter around the feet to optimize thermal insulation (no loss of heat) and remain compact, while keeping relative freedom of movement. Width at the shoulders 28.3", height at the feet 13.4" in size L. Ergonomic hood with drawstring. 2 double-slider side zippers, lined with a flap (tube) in anti-cold fill (thermal bridges), side openings. Easy mechanical ventilation.

Weight and size (2)
Volume and dimensions can vary according to the pressure applied to the product. For your comfort, try out your bag before buying it to make sure you have the right size. The advantage of a mummy-type sleeping bag is that the weight/volume ratio and thermal comfort are optimized. With a fitted bag, there is less volume to heat (saves your energy). However, this type of sleeping bag can limit your freedom of movement, especially when the zippers are closed.
Warranty:
This sleeping bag is guaranteed for 5 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. The product covered by the warranty will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 5-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the product and receipt.

Product testing
All our sleeping bags undergo mechanical tests that test the performance and resistance of the sleeping bag to guarantee better sleep and recuperation (thermal resistance, resistance to abrasion, comfort, etc). We also carry out many tests in the field, in real conditions.
Storage instructions
Easily store your bag by stuffing it in its bag, feet end first. To maintain its fill power, which is what provides the thermal insulation, remove the bag and store it flat in a dry place.
