Question:

Which bag size is recommended for a 4 day trip? 50L or 75L

Answer:

For a 5-day hike, you'll want a medium to large backpack, usually between 40 to 80 liters. This size gives you enough room to pack essentials like a tent, sleeping bag, food, extra clothes, and other gear you'll need. It's important to choose a backpack that's water-resistant, especially if you might face bad weather. Look for one with a rain cover or made of waterproof material to keep your stuff dry. Also, if you'll be carrying your backpack for long walks, consider getting one with a built-in hydration system. This makes it easy to drink without taking your water bottle out of your backpack.

Question:

what is the maximum weight the mt100 70l can carry comfortably?

Answer:

Thank you for your inquiry. Our product doesn't have a recommended weight limit due to varying factors. We advise users to consider individual circumstances and usage patterns.

Great product for campers. Bought this for son since he had to attend 5 day scouts camp. Reinforcement are very good to support your back while carry load. Multiple pockets for keeping different items. Rain cover also comes along with this product. Would recommend to buy individual zip covers / pushes offered 7L to 15L. With this you can pack different items in different pouches. This will make your packing easy, looks clean and tidy. This will also reduce your searching time during camping / trekking which is great saver. There are belts outside on each side. You can carry yoga mat, umbrella, sticks, or length items. Price point, it's little bit on higher side. Recommend this product. Ki dly let me know your experience.

Great product, value for money, good quality, easy to carry!

It would be perfect if it had a removable or at least adjustable top, as well as a pocket on each side of the belt. Furthermore, I don't know what the implications are of relying solely on the front zipper to hold all items.

Good backpack for not too tall people

I have now done several short hikes and one-week hikes with the backpack. Basically, I think the backpack is really great. Material, workmanship, main compartment with front opening, sleeping bag compartment, bottle holder and very stretchy side pockets - all good! On a multi-day hike with a backpack weighing around 20kg, I had increasing problems with the carrying system. The back adjustment, which I generally think is good, cannot be adjusted high enough for me (184cm), so a large part of the weight is always on the shoulders and not enough on the hip belt. I will take another look to see if I can change that myself, but as the backpack comes from the store, I would not recommend it for people >180cm. Except maybe up to 10kg in weight, but I don't need a 70L backpack for that.

Good quality but has few eyes

It is of good quality, but it has small eyes and its volume is quite sufficient.

Trekking Bag Experience

I bought it in May at a very affordable price. Moreover, it is my first mountaineering bag. I can almost call it my second home. Thanks to its support for the back, it balances the weight very well. I recommend you to buy from this series. More eye space is needed. I think the pocket parts should be improved. Its an externally functional and useful bag

Easyfit system

Our patented Easyfit system allows you to adjust the back height and strap tension simultaneously by pulling on one single strap (on each side). 1. Put on your bag2. Buckle and tighten the belt3. Pull the handles (from bottom to top) It’s adjusted!

Capacity

70 L volume. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardized method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in liters, with a margin of error of just a few %.

Dying process

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we have opted for mass pigmentation called Inchdope dye Inch integrating the color pigments from the initial thread manufacture. This process reduces this backpack’s CO2 emissions by 35% compared to the previous model.

How to pack a backpack?

Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.

Why are our rain covers grey when some trekkers want them to be brightly coloured?

The grey color is neutral so uses less dye. We also use a “bi-ton” dyeing process where only one thread in every two is dyed. This dyed yarn is also made from a bulk dyeing process which incorporates the color pigments from the yarn manufacturing phase onwards. Forclaz is committed to improving the environmental impact of its products through these actions.

Complementary accessories

It's important that you are well equipped for your trek to take place in the best conditions.

Product testing

All our backpacks undergo field tests by users who are representative of our target market under similar conditions to those you will encounter. To test, assess and validate products, our mission test connects the product manager responsible for the product design with individuals independent to DECATHLON. This backpack was tested by trekkers for 5 weeks in the Canary Islands, the Pyrenees and the Mont Blanc mountain range.

Storage instructions

Store your bag in a dry, ventilated place away from direct light.
