Brilliant bike

The bike is really great. Rigid. Comfortable and the drive is great. The bike costs a bit, so my purchase was well thought out. I wasn't disappointed :)

5 star gravel bike

I don't really bother to give reviews, but with this bike I just have to do it and let my enthusiasm be known. I wanted to buy a gravel bike for spring and went to all the well-known manufacturers such as Canyon, Rose and various bike shops. I also test rode great bikes there, but the equipment on all models was significantly worse at the same price as the Riverside. Since the Riverside GCR wasn't in stock in any Decathlon shops and I couldn't take it for a test ride, I was of course totally unsure whether I would spend €4,000 without riding the bike. Ultimately, I decided to go for it because of the great features and appearance, and I don't regret it. The bike looks even more elegant and stylish in real life than in the pictures. Setup was minimal and completed within a few minutes. The SRAM Force shifts absolutely smoothly straight away, the carbon wheels are great, as are the cockpit, saddle and Force brakes. I'm 1.79 and have an inseam of 84 cm and the bike fits me perfectly! I can absolutely recommend the Riverside GCR with Force equipment and simply say that you won't find anything better on the market for €4000

Not for winding routes...

Purchase followed by return to store. The frame being very racing style, the feet largely touch the front wheel... really not great on winding trails! Other brands like BMC make bikes with which you can go long distances and not just straight tracks without having to turn sharply... like a road bike. Too bad because the bike provides real sensations of dynamism as soon as you put the watts into it!

In the top !!!

My first GRAVEL, I don't regret this investment. Precise transmission, XL frame responsive and pleasant on restarts. All you have to do is swallow the kilometers of cycle paths and paths!!! I recommend. Jeff

Pleasure guaranteed!!!

This gravel is close to perfection for me. We swallow the kms on more or less challenging trails with a lot of confidence, comfort and above all a completely crazy pleasure!!! I love this bike!!!

The quality/price ratio is unbeatable. I also think that if the cables were integrated, it would be absolutely flawless. The handlebars are indeed a little wide, but it depends on each person's type of pedaling, it's not a fault for me. We'll see in the long term but after 1 month of use, no complaints. Thanks to DECATHLON and their telephone advisors for the information before purchasing on the site.

It is a bicycle from another planet, impressive, ride it and let yourself go, it is a joy to feel it under your legs on all terrains.

I'm not…

I'm not a technical expert but this "jewel" gives me everything I could dream of while riding a gravel bike. Beyond the dream equipment: Reynolds carbon wheels coupled with Hutchinson Touareg tires do the job perfectly, the gear change is incredible, it responds to demand instantly, the braking is powerful, the saddle provides all the necessary comfort. It starts again like clockwork. This Riverside CGR is just majestic and promises beautiful, long walks. Small downside for the preparation. Apart from this small inconvenience, I can only advise those who are still hesitant to take the plunge.

A rocket

A rocket, on the road and on the trail. The single chainring worried me a little, compared to a double chainring: it ultimately turned out to be very pleasant to use whatever the context. Some technical problems with this bike but Decathlon after-sales service supported me very well; Thanks again to Simon and his colleagues at the Bessoncourt workshop!

I simply wanted to thank the Decathlon telephone advisors for their valuable advice on purchasing this bike: picked up yesterday, tested today with 120kms and 2500 D+: a… comfortable machine. I would also like to thank the cycle department and the Decathlon Valence workshop for preparing the bike. Sportingly

Lives up to its name

If you are looking for a bike to ride around looking at the little flowers, forget it!! In his name, there is the R in Race and there is no doubt, that is what he is looking for. The frame/wheels combo works wonderfully and encourages you to restart as soon as possible. Once launched on the rolling parts, the temptation to lower a tooth is great. If you let it happen, there is a good chance of going for the KOMs in the sector, but returning dead and in this case, this bike will abandon you and drain your last resources. On the other hand, once "tame", this CGR will accompany you on your outings and will take you through the kms with surprising comfort, helped by a Sram groupset which operates in all circumstances with formidable efficiency and precision. In addition, the aesthetic is rather successful (for my taste) with a sober but original color, the only small downside is not having all the additional sheaths integrated (but at this price we can accept a few small "flaws") and the pleasure of riding a bike that you won't come across often. Thank you Decathlon for offering us this gravel.

Gravel with excellent…

Gravel with excellent performance, including on asphalt. The geometry of the frame is perfect (seat tube angle, reach and stack) for sports use. The peripherals and wheels are top of the line and work perfectly. In short, very happy and impressed with this bike, a downside on the handlebars, drop much too pronounced for my taste. The hand-down position is uncomfortable and cannot be held for long. I will probably change it.

Super Gravel with unbeatable value for money, magnificent carbon frame with performance, the SRAM FORCE EXPLR AXS transmission allows quick and precise gear changes, with a 40 single chainring and a 10/44 K7, it allows you to shift from climbs at sustained percentages (depending on the strength of the pilot and the region where he practices). The Fizik Terra saddle is very comfortable. The Reynolds ATR wheels are superb, play with the pressures to find the comfort you want. I rode recently with strong winds, you can feel the wind being caught from the sides. On the other hand, the handlebars are not very comfortable in the hands down position, they are too big, too low, difficult to reach the levers, a more compact handlebar would be more suitable. Then in tight turns, trial style to pass barrier chicanes or a hairpin, the front wheel hits the shoes, you have to remember to have your foot either at the top or at the bottom so as not to be hampered. It would be good in the future to think about stops for the steering. To consume without moderation...

They're specifically designed for gravel, with their 24 steel spokes, and are of course tubeless ready. Versatile hutchinson touareg tyres

We chose to equip our carbon gravel bike with Hutchinson Touareg 700 x 40 mm tyres for their versatility and flexibility. Originally installed tubeless, you'll need to add the sealant provided with the bike yourself. The even, grippy design of this tyre excels on dry ground, but is not recommended on very wet terrain. The sidewalls are reinforced to help the tyre withstand impacts and stones.127 TPI carcass

Tubeless assembly for greater reliability and puncture resistance

The wheels are set up as tubeless, but come WITHOUT SEALANT! You'll need to add the sealant directly into the valve, after deflating the tyre and removing the valve cap. Note that the bottle of sealant provided with the bike is enough for both tyres (60 ml of product per tyre). To finish, fully tighten the valve cap and reinflate the tyres to the desired pressure, between 1.8 and 3 bars maximum.

Maximum clearance for tyres

The maximum size for tyre width is 42 mm.

Product testing

The Riverside SRAM Carbon Gravel bike has been tested and approved by our team of enthusiastic testers. We want to take this time to thank them warmly for their valuable feedback and advice, which allowed us to achieve the final version of this bike that we are so proud of.
