Great, no need…

Top, no need to pay double or even triple with a big brand, the quality is the same

Simply the best value for money

The quality/price ratio for this type of product is simply unbeatable. For a down jacket with equivalent warmth from another brand, you will often have to pay close to double if not more. Some of these down jackets will, however, be slightly more compact (and again this depends on the model). The cut is very good for a down jacket with this volume, the style of the chest pocket is questionable.

Good down coat

Very nice down coat. The only thing is that it is quite sensitive to stains, the stain quickly remains, even if it is just water.

Awesome Jacket

Warm, light, comfy and good quality. Wish it was a YKK zipper like the old version.

A must thing to go to the hill stations and treking.

it's not worth it

Keeps you warm, the cut is ok for slim fit people, yes: - the design mistake, the inside of the collar is made of strip and gets dirty in the last step with the fat/sweat on the neck, besides the strange sensation offered by that material on the wet neck, as on the mountain you still sweat, maybe it's a surprise for whoever thought of the model; - after washing it tightened at the base and it doesn't fit me anymore, although it was perfect at the time of purchase; - the fluff collects in various places when washing/drying, probably a new design mistake; I washed and dried it according to the instructions, using balls, 4 in number, my dryer blew for hours and the fluff still did not spread evenly in the much too long horizontal sections of the jacket; they had to be made shorter so that the feathers could not migrate so much, after they have moved tens of cm you can't bring them back even with a bag of tennis balls; I washed/dried it several times in the hope that I would fix it but in vain, wasted time and money on special detergent and water+electricity. Unfortunately, I cut the inner label, but maybe I will be able to return it, the idea of the jacket is good and the price is convenient, but unfortunately the faulty implementation, the details make it impossible to buy.

It keeps warm and protects from gusts and cold.

Additional Product Information

Composition

Filling: 90.0% Grey Duck Down, 10.0% Grey Duck Feather ; Main fabric: 100.0% Polyamide ; Main lining: 100.0% Polyamide ; Pocket: 100.0% Polyester

How warm is this padded jacket?

This padded jacket, worn as a 3rd layer, has been certified for an active comfort temperature of 14°F (-10°C) during a standardized test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 3.1 mi/h wind. We have also tested this model in static mode. Its comfort temperature is 32°F (0°C) in this case.

The advantages of a duck down and feather filling

The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.- Ultra-lightweight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.- Ultra-compressible.

How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to ”trap” air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This puffer jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power of 800 CUIN (international standard) or over.

Weight of filling

XS: 5.2oz or 122 g S: 4.6oz or 131 gM: 4.9oz or 140gL: 5.2oz or 149 gXL: 5.6oz or 159 g 2 XL: 6oz or 170 g3XL: 6.3oz or 181 g 4XL: 6.7oz or 192g

What is rds certification?

RDS or “Responsible Down Standard” is a worldwide certification issued by an independent organization to volunteer brands. This standard enables us to guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers commit to using only feathers from geese and ducks raised for their meat and slaughtered before down and feathers are collected.

The eco-design actions carried out on this down jacket

The lining of the inner lining is innovative because it is two-tone. That means that it combines a black dope-dyed thread with an undyed thread. Compared to conventional dyeing, this process reduces CO2 emissions by 14%. The outer fabric is made of recycled polyester.

How to care for a down jacket?

The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency. Our advice: 1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 86°F or 30°C, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle. 2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)

The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent, however, we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating (PFC-free) its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. We recommend that you restore it after each wash.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimizes its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

Product testing

4 independent Forclaz trekkers and 4 members of Forclaz tested this down jacket during 3 days of trekking in November 2021 up to 9842 ft. altitude near Chamonix in the Mont Blanc Country. The feedback given to us after this test let us validate this down jacket for mountain trekking.
