- How to choose the right size: it all depends on layers ! With only 1 layer under, we recommend 1 size up. If worn with 2 or more layers under it, 2 sizes up will be better. Refer to the size chart for more details
- This light puffer jacket has been designed for backpacking, yet offers a great design making it perfect for everyday use in cold and mild weather.
- Warmth: From 23°F and warmer, this puffer jacket will keep you comfortably warm and is filled with recycled polyester: easier to wash than a downjacket.
- Compact and light: the MT100 jacket is packable into the left hand pocket. It only weighs 13 oz in size L.
- Water-Resistant, not waterproof: This jacket will keep you dry for a good amount of time under light rain thanks to a water-repellent fabric.

Question:
What is the main difference between this jacket and the Forclaz Men's MT100 Hooded Down Puffer Jacket. Is one just down and one is synthetic or are there other differences. Are they both rated to the same temperatures?
Answer:
These are comparable products. In addition to the filling difference, the synthetic jacket dries off much quicker than the down filled jacket. Both jackets have the same warmth promise.

I ordered and received a Men's Synthetic Mountain Trekking Hooded Padded Jacket - MT100 - 5 degrees Celcius. My question is: should the zipper pull be on the left side on a men’s jacket?

Lightweight and warm down jacket. Unfortunately, the sleeves are poorly designed. Too long and too loose, which spoils the overall design.
The large size could use wider sleeves if you wear a sweater under it in the cold
It is very warm, comfortable and light.

Overall pleasant to wear. Light weight, ideal for all weather hiking. Only criticism, no inside pockets 1 or 2 would be perfect. Otherwise happy with my purchase overall.

Good product
Good cut, fits well, hood is good too, I like the length of the sleeves and the length of the jacket. The warmth is as expected. I have warmer undercoats for very cold temperatures. What is really annoying is that there is no hanger. Not even one that can be used as a makeshift (e.g. sewn-in labels that can be used for other purposes). How can you save on something like that? -Neither I nor my partner can hang the jacket on the coat hook, it falls off if you try to hang it on the hood. But because I really like it (including the price), I will keep it (and will have to use needle and thread again).

All over the best jacket, only problem is that cap elastic is loose.

Durable materials
This polyamide canvas uses 20 denier threads (measurement unit of the thread) and resists up to 20,000 abrasion cycles. Durability is calculated using the Martindale test (Standard 12 947-2). This test is to rub the jacket’s material against another material to observe how the product resists wear. Outer: 100% polyamide fabric 39g/sqm, 20 denier Lining: 100% polyamide fabric 35 g/sqm, a mix of 15 and 20 denier threads.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Once you have cleaned your padded jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. You will find it in store and on our website by entering the reference 8817233.
A snag? this is how to repair your down jacket
A tear on a padded jacket can happen when trekking! The good news is that it can be repaired with a repair patch so the tear doesn’t get any bigger or synthetic fibres escape. Don't you feel at ease carrying out this repair yourself? Don't worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer an in-store repair service to mend your padded jacket using a heat-bonded patch.
Product testing
In November 2017, 6 backpackers (4 men and 2 women) with part of the Forclaz design team tested this padded jacket for four days in the Southern French Alps.We were then able to make the final modifications and validate it for use for backpacking in the mountains.
Storage instructions
To keep the wadding inflated, we recommend you store your padded jacket on a hanger and not folded up in its pocket!
