Product Customer Reviews

I like the fabric, it's light and breathy. The size came a bit bigger in the waistline, though i ordered according to the size guide. The waistline is also low than my preference and it has a plastic buckle on the belt. I'm little bit insecure about my not-so flat tummy, so the waistline and the belt are making me seem even more fuller. Overall, the size was a miss, but i'm still gonna try smaller size, cause i really liked the feeling of the fabric on my skin. And it looks cool.
I wear a size 6 or 8 with a 32” inseam for regular pants. Need 33” inseam for boot cut. Waist 28-29”& 5’7” tall. For these I order a 33waist with 31”length as I like them roomy for possible base layer, ease of movement & stretching; they shorter than I would like but longer lengths are too large in waist & butt. 32”x31” fit great too just not as roomy. 31”x31” is tight but may fit some sixes. Great for sailing as they tend to repel small amounts of water or showers. Also great for casual bike rides to the store, hikes & walks. Wonderful pockets-finally as many & as deep as the men’s pants. Stretchy without losing shape & articulated knee fit. Wash up well by hand or machine. Highly recommend for active women!
I love decathlon pants for the price, style, and functionality of them. These pants are everything I need for hiking and looking forward to buying more in the future.
Thank you for your review!

Can't beat 'em for the price!
These pants are my absolute favourite hiking pant. They have lots of pockets, have the perfect amount of stretch and are flattering. Great price for a technical pant. I would buy again!

I'm now onto my third pair of these trousers. I have one pair I keep for hiking and the other two I wear for work. Loads of useful pockets, very comfortable and seem to be lasting for ages despite many washes.
Really love these size perfect, moment is comfortable , went out it was slightly rainy and it just run off and trousers dry in no time. I recommend . I going to buying another pair soon . Wore my basel layer leggings under them
Very nice design, lightweight slightly strechy and very comfortable trousers. True to size, one only thing for me personally slight problem that they are a bit long, but i guess i am short 5"2 or 1.56cm. But in general i will get second pair in the future. They are very flatering for the curves.
These trousers are great. I always dread buying trousers as I never know if they're going to fit properly. They're either too big on the waist or I can't get them over my thighs. They're nice and lightweight and the belt is useful too. I haven't tried them out and about yet but so far, so good.
Great if you are trekking through brambles, gorse or blackthorn. Don't seem to snag or tear. Great if you are kneeling down or need a bit more protection than standard hiking trousers. The only downside is the reverse zipped pockets. Apparently it's a design feature, but it drives me potty!
I usually just use Decathlon for basic little items as I find the quality a bit unreliable but these trousers (and the shorts version) are just great! I have wide hips and a narrow waist, so finding bottoms that fit well is very difficult. These trousers fit perfectly even without the belt. I bought them for work (horticulture) but have ended up using them a lot for hiking as well and often choose them over my more expensive hiking trousers from other brands. The many pockets are really practical without being annoying and overall the trousers have a very flattering look and fit. I've received many compliments for them and people asking me where I got them from. Best value for money outdoor trousers I've ever bought! The only slight downside is that over time they seem to lose their elasticity slightly and seem to stretch out when worn for longer periods. Once washed they're back to a perfect fit though!
Size and cut were a mans, both pair were almost identical in waste size and leg length
Bought these after getting the shorts version. They are great, some elasticity in fabric, plenty of freedom of movement. Fit me well as I have large hips and narrow waist - the belt adjustable for waist. Good pockets. Wish there was a pull cord round ankle as mens have, to tighten (I'm 5'2" so bit long as everything always is). Quick drying. Really pleased I found these.
Comfortable and true to size. Stretch fabric makes them comfortable to wear and they seem to repel dirt and moisture. Look like a more expensive item than they are. Well made and so far they seem durable. Easy wash and quick to dry. Great for travel, hiking, gardening or working.
Excellent bits: - the pockets are awesome - fabric is stretchy and key areas are reinforced Good bits: - pretty quick drying - decent belt - good length Not so good bits : - crotch/waist sit a bit low (I had to go for a size up from my waist size to get them to fit) - they get a bit sweaty as there’s no vents for air - no way to secure the bottom of the trouser leg to your boot Overall a good pair of trousers that could be really improved by a small vent and a lower crotch / better fitting hips area

What is the water-repellent property of the component?
These pants have water-repellent areas (shins, seat) that prevent water from entering the fabric. Please note that this does not mean WATERPROOF. The water-repellent property slows down water ingress and prevents the pants from getting wet too fast but will not keep you dry under steady rain. To do this, we recommend to wear overpants, ref 8504646. Water repellency can be reactivated by tumble drying the pants for 10 min on low temperature
Why a v2 (version 2) of our iconic trek 500 pants?
The Trek 500 pants have been improved. The aim is first to reduce the environmental impact of our pants (see details below) Then, customer feedback enabled us to improve features. Thanks for sharing! - switching of left and right pockets for better smartphone carrying - use of more durable COATS thread for assemblies - double stitching on the back of the crotch for better durability
Eco-design: which improvements have we made?
To reduce our environmental impact, we used a more environmentally-friendly dyeing process for the fabric reinforcements on the pants. We use mass pigmentation (known as "Dope dyeing) of the thread, adding pigments in granular form, when the thread is manufactured. Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths. This process enables us to reduce CO2 emissions by 12%
Accessories:
2 hand pockets that zip downward. 1 zipped right thigh pocket 1 left thigh pocket with flap and 1 inner smartphone compartment. Supplied with a belt.
Hand pocket opening:
We have deliberately placed the zipper closing of the hand pockets downward. The zipper pull will not get in your way when you tighten your backpack's waistband and your belongings will remain safe in your pockets!
Which size should you choose?
Fitted cut and use of stretch fabric in the right areas guarantees high comfort levels when moving around. Choose your usual size. Inside leg length of 31.9" in size S Width at the bottom of the pants: 7.8" in size S.
Hybrid structure
Pants designed with 2 different components: - a durable fabric (7.3 oz/m²) on areas that need protection from rubbing (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, enabling great freedom of movement. It has a water-repellent treatment. - and a lightweight and breathable fabric (5.3 oz/m²) on the rest of the pants.

Product testing
These pants have been tested and validated in the field in real-life conditions. They were worn for 5 weeks by several people who undertook the Grande Traversée des Alpes (GTA) in late spring 2017. The V2 (version 2) of the Trek 500 pants, that include improvements made on the product, was tested in summer 2020 in the Northern Alps. These tests enabled us to validate the product in use.
