Question:
I'm confused about the torso lengths for this?
Answer:
When choosing the size of a hiking backpack, it’s important to take into account your body shape. The backpack size should be adapted to your back. It’s measured from the base of your neck to your hips and the grip of the stomach strap should be comfortable on your hips. How to accurately measure your torso for optimal backpack fit? To ascertain this crucial measurement, enlist the help of a friend and have a pliable tape measure on hand. Bend your head forward and locate the bony protrusion where your shoulder slope meets your neck—the 7th cervical (C7) vertebra, marking the top of your torso length. On either side of your body, run your hands down the ribcage to the apex of your hip bones (known as the iliac crest). Align your index fingers forward and your thumbs backward, creating an imaginary line between them. The point on your lumbar region where this line intersects is the base of your torso measurement. Maintain an upright posture, and ask your friend to measure the distance between the C7 and the imaginary line formed by your thumbs. This measurement constitutes your torso length.

Product Customer Reviews
I was able to adjust and pack all that I needed into this back pack. It has plenty of straps and pockets to give versatility. One of those rucksacks which you learn better how to pack, more efficiently, every time you use it. I am quite a small lady (Size 8/10 UK 164cm tall). I was able to adjust the straps to make the harness and waist belt fit reasonably well and spread the load, so all the weight wasn't solely hanging on my shoulders and compressing my back. If I were smaller, I think I might look more towards a youths fit because it would be tricky to comfortably adjust for much smaller body. This is something those of us who are of smaller build (whether men or women) need to consider when buying a rucksack. The quality is good but it is lightweight, and therefore buckles etc are small and potentially open to crush damage. Comes with a rain cover, which I thought was a nice touch.
perfect for Duke of Ed expedition
None of the stores nearby had it in stock to try it on, so ordered online expecting the Decathlon quality of other items purchased for years now, but sadly the backpack ruined my one-day hike. Got back with sore shoulders and neck, mesh padding very cheaply made so rubbed into my skin. Hip fins extremely rigid, dug into my hips no matter how l tried to adjust them. Lid weirdly sewn on frame, keeps hitting back of neck. Not a beginner, l know how to adjust straps, distribute weight and compress pack. Totally surprised by how bad this backpack is, while not the cheapest in its range. Now struggling to return, as didn't keep the tags, so probably stuck with it.
This bag is perfect, with lots of storage
Comfortable, accessible storage, quick adjustment
everything is ok
Roomy and easy to carry. Very nice color
The product is very useful. It has many details and functionality. It is very comfortable due to the mesh on the back. It is a little difficult to adjust the back part, when adjusted to the smallest size, it can be a little uncomfortable because the waist part hits the bone.
Also comfortable for girls
Lightweight and practical with the rain protection option present at the bottom, however the storage inside has no compartment and remains weak.
Very practical, it has several pockets allowing you to separate your items. Very comfortable.
THIS BAG FITS AIRPLANE CABIN AS CARRY-ON! As a Forclaz girl through and through, this backpack fits my back amazingly with the adjustable back system; making even carrying 19kg+ of weight feel like nothing. It could be used for both travel and hiking, and I will take it with me for all my future adventures. Obsessed is an understatement. Thank you Forclaz for always making high quality products.
Well designed bag, it took me a while to find the right height adjustment (I'm 1'50 m) but once found, the bag is perfect, plus it's easy to store inside under the 2 zippers that allow you to open the bag on the front. There are tightening straps, which allow you to put everything in and have easy access, without taking everything out. The color is very pretty, the whole thing seems solid, I used it for almost 3 months in 2024 on the trails of the Alps and Pyrenees, and it's in perfect condition.
Very comfortable and light

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 15 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new range of MT500 AIR and MT900 UL bags has two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.
Female body shape
Our women's models are adapted to their body shape (chest and hips) with a more open shoulder strap shape and a higher fitted belt for greater comfort and freedom of movement.
