About this item:
- This backpack is made for multiple days hiking or trekking in autonomy. You can carry everything you need to camp, drink and eat on your back with comfort.
- The MT900 ULTRALIGHT only weighs 2.9 lbs and can contain a total volume of 45 liters which we recommend for a trip under 2 weeks long. The top of the bag is adjustable and can hold an extra 10 liters of volume.
- This backpack has plenty of features if you are looking for a lightweight technical option at a great price: AIR concept back ventilation, rain cover, water bottle holder, hiking poles holder, 7 pockets and a compartment for a water bladder for easy hydration.

1 little high when you are 1 average height 164 cm
I will use it for long flat trips
Light and practical bag of good capacity. Too bad it is not possible to remove the iron support to be able to put it in the washing machine.
So, I am extremely satisfied with this piece. 1.3 kg BobĂk, in which I can pack for both 3 days and 10 days. The ratio of weight, price, functionality and appearance is 10/10 for me. The padded back, shoulder straps and waist pack are the top ceiling for me. The backpack is really easy to wear and I appreciate the structure of it. Both from the inside and especially from the outside. The only thing I would complain about is the raincoat in the top pocket. I would appreciate it if it was lower, for example like in 20l backpacks. Personally, I would rather use this top pocket in a different way than on a raincoat. I also recommend setting up the backpack correctly. On the first day of the trek, I had a problem with bruised hips, because my backpack was sitting too low. But otherwise it's a tutu :)
I at first thought I was missing parts of this bag nope just mistaken , I taken it on two camps love it and can’t wait to take it out more.
The bag is full of tricks and light. The carrying comfort is average, the weight is not distributed over the width of the belt. Its pear shape is not ideal for storing sleeping bags, tents, mattresses and weekend belongings
Lightweight and super comfortable straps
Perfect, not too big to travel in the airplane cabin and can be extended. Ideal for 1 day hike, good quality/price.
Light backpack, lack of foam thickness at the waist.
Cons: Wasn't in stock in store, had to order and prepay. - The straps go through the buckles with difficulty. Positive: Size adjustment stepless and very easy. Carrying comfort very good, as far as I can tell after 2 hours with a load of 12 kg. Material seems stable, corners of the frame are reinforced below. Large outside pockets. Two liter bottles each fit in the side pockets without sticking out at the top. I think the adjustable (and replaceable) elastic band and the small hook with which the bags can be closed on the side are brilliant. Bottles are easy to reach and put back while walking. The front pocket has openings at the bottom, water can run off, the elastic band is not sewn to the backpack here either, but attached to loops and can be replaced. The rain cover is big enough for the backpack with the outside pockets filled, has a hole in the bottom and loops with a hook on the top to hang it on the backpack. The side zipper is smooth-running. The ties in the hidden pocket are a good idea. They are approx. 60 cm long and can be used on any loop. Lots of useful details on a light (weighed 1.24 kg without rain cover) backpack, which I also like the subtle color of.
Currently on the PCT for more than three weeks now with an average of 20-30km per day and 8-12 hours of walking, refueling every 4 to 8 days, I am won over. I am 1m60 and I have not managed to find my happiness in two years of research and I and tests. So I turned to this new model. The weight is top, the capacity too. I have everything I need for 6 months in it, including sun, rain, snow, sleeping and eating products. Positive points: the bag itself is great and solid The curve of the shoulder straps adapted to women The weight The bedding (although I was afraid at first that everything would not fit) I put my inflatable mattress at the bottom attached with the straps and my protective mattress between the hood's attachment straps The pockets at the waistband where you can easily place the laptop and the portable battery, cereal bars, tissues, sunscreen, balms... Negative but subjective points: I pierced the back net already (take care of it) The pockets on the sides which are not elastic and open enough (some things may fall out of it) The waistband and suspenders maybe not suitable for women with smaller than average hips Adjusting the length of the back (ask the sellers for the technique) The three-litre water bag will have difficulty in positioning itself without unbalancing the bag because the bag is not elastic (only longer in height) Those who don't like having a bag higher than their head will find it difficult to use it, but when hiking you look down on the ground most of the time!
Although the backpack looks very nice and seems light and comfortable at first weight, nothing could be further from the truth. After an hour of walking, my hips, shoulders, collarbones and buttocks started to hurt so much from the stiff and rough material that it was almost unbearable. The frame protrudes at the bottom and presses on your hips and buttocks. On day 2 of our 4 day hike my body hurt so much we cut the hike short. I advise you to buy a better backpack that might be a bit heavier and not be fooled by the beautiful design and light weight. And if you do go for lightweight, invest in a specialized brand. This is really worthless. I'm going to return my bag.
although used to hiking and adjusting my bag, I have not been able to find an adjustment that does not hurt my pelvis. The metal "pods" are not covered with thick enough foam. I had bought it for a 7 day touring hike from the first day I had developed bruises and kinds of bumps. I've been in pain all week
I love this backpack, it's the most comfortable backpack I've ever had, very capacious and functional, and lighter than my handbag ;) It worked very well during a week-long holiday in Zanzibar, where we changed our place of stay every 2 days.
The straps on the backpack should have been more padded - then the backpack might have been a few grams heavier, but it can hardly be used like this. With a weight of 8-10 kg, the straps rubbed on my neck, collarbone, etc. - no matter how I adjusted the backpack, that I had to buy plush socks for my long-distance hike to clamp them under. Some of the straps to tighten were also difficult to operate. I was very happy about the Ultralight backpack from Decathlon, but unfortunately I was very disappointed in the end - no purchase recommendation.

Air design
Inspired by its sister, the MT500 AIR, this bag replicates many of the features of its ventilated back structure with a mesh fabric so that the back can breathe more and dry quickly.
Capacity
Volume of 45L with a +10L extension. The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method. we use small balls to fill the main compartment as well as each pocket. The balls are then emptied into a graduated container in order to determine the equivalent volume in litres, with a margin of error of just a few %.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Put heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Store your clothing around it. A groundsheet or tent can be placed under the flap or under the bag if there isn't room inside. Keep your waterproof jacket and fleece to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. The water bladder can be placed in the compartment provided down the back.
How to use the multi-use straps?
The new MT500 AIR and MT900 UL series of trekking backpacks have two straps with open aluminium buckles (on the lower part of the bag). These straps let you hook on a tent or mattress under the bag or on the barrel. If not in use, these straps can be stored (by pushing them inside) in the hidden pocket intended for this or detached and used elsewhere with the lark's head knot buckle.

Recommended carry weight
According to the project for which this backpack was designed, we recommend you don’t load it above 12 kg. Then you can benefit from all its features. Moreover, it’s not recommended to carry a load greater than 20-25% of your own weight and put too much pressure on your back.
Female body shape
Our women's models are adapted to their body shape (chest and hips) with a more open shoulder strap shape and a higher fitted belt for greater comfort and freedom of movement.
Product testing
All our backpacks are field-tested by users who represent the target market in conditions identical to those found in typical use. In particular, our Test Missions bring together the product manager with people who are not affiliated with DECATHLON to test, improve and validate the products. This particular model was tested over a five-week period by trekkers in the Canaries, Pyrenees and the Mont-Blanc mountain range.
Storage instructions
Store your bag in a dry, ventilated place away from direct light.
