Top underpants, but they are becoming increasingly expensive

Been buying them for a while, but every time I order them the price has increased, compared to the competitors 3 years ago they were still €15. Already above €20 and no longer really cheaper than other brands.

We don't get the quality for the price paid

It's a good product from a Trek perspective, on an occasional basis. It wicks away perspiration very well, no odors, comfortable to wear, no irritation. On the other hand, it is a very fragile product. I bought 15 for everyday use and after a year of use 60% are broken. The others follow the same path. It's a bit annoying when you see the price of the product and when the initial approach was to make a good investment in a product that seemed to deny its promises. We don't get the quality expected for the price. In my opinion the only thing that can justify it is the benefits of merino wool. I finally settled on polyester running briefs. Much cheaper and much more effective in terms of resistance. It dries very quickly, I wear two underwear on treks. Finally like with those in merino. Certainly they don't smell after a day of sweating but logically if you can wash it you do it anyway...

Perfect

A really good, compliant and comfortable product

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 86.0% Wool, 4.0% Elastane, 10.0% Polyamide

Sizing and fit

These boxers have a fitted cut for enhanced moisture transfer to the outside of the fabric.

How have we enhanced the durability of our boxers made with merino wool?

We have used a BETA-SPUN yarn structure in which the polyamide threads coat the Merino wool fibres and protect them from rubbing and breaking without affecting their properties.

Tip before use

To make the component feel softer, don't hesitate to wash your boxers before first use.

How to wash your merino wool boxers

We recommend that you machine wash your Trek 500 Merino boxers at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry flat and NEVER tumble dry unless you want it to shrink by one or two sizes! For more information: https://support.decathlon.co.uk/how-to-maintain-a-merino-wool-garment

Product testing

These boxers have been tested and validated in the field in real-life conditions. They were worn for 5 weeks in spring 2019 by several people who went trekking in the Canary Islands for 2 weeks, followed by 3 weeks on the GR10 route in the Pyrenees.
