Meets my expectations

Meets my expectations

Top shape and performance. Tight at the waist and long.

This is the first time I've used merino in a base layer and it's amazing. I used it for several days in a row, and only on the 5th day I noticed a little smell. I let it air for 2 days and now it's fresh again, without washing it!!! Wow. It must be said that I tested it under optimal hygienic conditions (one shower per day, shower/bidet after toilet, sheet of toilet paper after peeing), but I can see that I could go hiking with 2 merino boxers without pressure to wash every day. The cut is good for me (I took M and I measure at the elastic 82 cm, buttocks 95 cm, thigh circumference 54 cm), but I find two small problems. The first is in the legs, where the boxers are longer than necessary, so the fabric has a slight tendency to ride up and accumulate. It doesn't matter because the fabric is thin. What is a little more annoying is the elastic at the belt which is very tight. I understand that it's a design decision because when hiking you don't want the pants to wander around too, but I think they're too tight all the same. It would be better to have to put the elastic back in place sometimes, than to be compressed all the time, especially when traveling where you may have an upset digestive system and the opportunity to use the toilet is sometimes delayed. I have just ordered the new MT900 boxer which seems to correct these defects. I will give my opinion.

Very pleasant to wear…

Very comfortable to wear and wicks away perspiration quickly.

Useful product

For this price - a really solid product. A nice option if you run with your phone and you don't want to buy many pairs of shorts with special pockets

Completely satisfied

Value for money more than adequate for a product of this magnitude. It meets my expectations, antibacterial, pleasant, I opted to replace my wardrobe with this product!

Someone says he is allergic to merino and that the merino bites him. This is not my case. Boxers are comfortable on the body, even if you sweat. They work as I expect so far. They haven't been washed yet, so I'll see what time brings. So far very satisfied. Use on the trek. I air them out in the evening and they go fresh in the morning. Everything OK :)

Additional Product Information

Composition

Main fabric: 86.0% Wool, 4.0% Elastane, 10.0% Polyamide

Sizing and fit

These boxers have a fitted cut for enhanced moisture transfer to the outside of the fabric.

How have we enhanced the durability of our boxers made with merino wool?

We have used a BETA-SPUN yarn structure in which the polyamide threads coat the Merino wool fibres and protect them from rubbing and breaking without affecting their properties.

Tip before use

To make the component feel softer, don't hesitate to wash your boxers before first use.

How to wash your merino wool boxers

We recommend that you machine wash your Trek 500 Merino boxers at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry flat and NEVER tumble dry unless you want it to shrink by one or two sizes! For more information: https://support.decathlon.co.uk/how-to-maintain-a-merino-wool-garment

Product testing

These boxers have been tested and validated in the field in real-life conditions. They were worn for 5 weeks in spring 2019 by several people who went trekking in the Canary Islands for 2 weeks, followed by 3 weeks on the GR10 route in the Pyrenees.
