So this jacket is just great! Value for money is just huge compared to other brands. Super big pockets that I really appreciate. And for the price it's just perfect

I love this product, I always carry it in my backpack, a precious ally against wind and rain, it is well made
What can I say except true happiness. Top quality/price ratio.
The design is nice with a very practical cap hood, too bad to find only 2 colors. Bad breathing, quickly water drops form inside. Price too high for the rendering .. disappointed.
I haven't been able to try it in real conditions and on the ground but I can already clarify some things. I find that the jacket is very light in the hand which is a big advantage. In addition the material seems solid and very waterproof with its 25000mm. It is pleasant to the touch. The pockets are spacious even if I would have liked them to be located a little lower with a jacket with pockets on the left chest. The jacket could have needed a little more length. A few centimeters. And I find the S very tight which is usually my size. So I went to the M in order to be able to wear under layers. I would also have appreciated being able to integrate mittens at the sleeves to cover the hands and fingers a little. But overall a beautiful and good product well finished in the details. Can't wait to try it in real conditions.
If it's windy you can feel it but as a waterproof it's not bad.
Disappointed with the product. Indeed, after a day of hiking, the fabric begins to tear at my back and below the logo. The jacket is however practical, light and quite waterproof....

Very waterproof. Compared to other brands this product is much cheaper for what it offers. Very breathable also thanks to the air vents that can be opened via zip under the arms when it is not raining

Cut
Slim fit with raglan sleeves and good stretch properties for plenty of freedom of movement during your hikes. A warm layer, such as a fleece or light padded jacket, can be worn underneath.

Adjustable height with an elastic cord and tightening toggle. Integrated semi-rigid visor to provide high level protection.The small detail that makes the difference: a triangular opening on the side of the hood for better visibility to the sides.

Membrane
The waterproof rating of a product depends on the following two main criteria: its component and its construction. This product was made with a membrane.This is a kind of very thin plastic film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being flexible, lightweight and breathable.
Layer design
3 layer design: The membrane is glued between the outer and inner fabric. We use it for durable and high-performing jackets
Component waterproofing
Laboratory tests are conducted to guarantee the waterproof rating of a component. To this end, the resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm (JIS 1092 standard).The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This product's component has a 25,000 mm waterproof rating and can withstand the pressure of a 25,000 mm water column. This is also equivalent to 25000 Schmerbers.
Water resistance of the jacket
We conduct laboratory tests that simulate rainfall scenarios in order to guarantee the jacket's waterproof rating. This garment has been validated in a shower test under 18 cm of rain for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a mountain storm.
Breathability
Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: not very breathable fabric This product was assessed at 6 RET
How to restore the water-repellent properties
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and therefore remains lightweight and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment. The water-repellent property can be reactivated by putting the jacket in the tumble dryer for 10 minutes on low heat.You can also use the waterproof spray (ref 8554908)

Our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. As well as numerous field tests, we test products in a laboratory according to the desired properties (e.g.: shower test for waterproofness, wind tunnel test for windproof properties, etc.).
