Mixed 🤔

She is very beautiful. The superb colors. Just the right size. With a thin fleece it's ok. Tested several times in the rain and always the same observation: waterproof in general but a cold and damp area at the level of the internal welded label (at the top of the back) very very unpleasant = Feeling of cold, humidity in this place, like a pocket of cold. Yet it doesn't seem to be leaking?!

I usually take...

I usually take M and for this jacket I took a size larger. I used it under a denser for several hours and it is perfect. I was dry. Good windbreaker too. Used in Brittany for 1 week hiking, lots of wind. Its lightness is great. When it was cold I put a sleeveless trek down jacket underneath. It was perfect. Easily foldable to put in a bag. Perfect jacket. I just blame it for its color... for women we would also like a blue or orange. A little fed up with pink or burgundy

A jacket not waterproof enough

I had the previous jacket but I'm disappointed with this one. It is perfect in terms of lightness and breathability but on the other hand the waterproofing is not there. I had no problems on the old version in 4 years and I liked it so much that I decided to buy the new version. But it let the water through and I was wet, even though it was only the second time that it had withstood a fairly heavy downpour for around twenty minutes... Another small downside; on the previous version there was a small interior pocket at chest level which allowed you to store keys, this was a big plus which, for my part, is currently missing. On the other hand, I find that the lower exterior pockets are less well placed, because they are blocked by the belt of the bag.

Additional Product Information

Main fabric: 78.0% Polyamide, 22.0% Polyester ; Coating: 100.0% Polyurethane ; Pocket: 74.0% Polyester, 26.0% Elastane ; Hood lining: 80.0% Polyamide, 20.0% Elastane

This jacket has a fitted cut. The fabric is 13% elastane and the “raglan” sleeves up to the collar give better stretchability and more freedom of movement during your hikes. A warm layer, such as a fleece or a light padded jacket can be worn underneath. You can choose your usual size, or a size above if you don't want it to be worn fitted.

The adjoining hood is adjustable in height and depth thanks to an elastic drawcord. Stiff visor for maximum face protection. The small detail that makes the difference: a triangular opening on the side of the hood for better visibility to the sides.

Construction of the jacket: 3 layers

This jacket is made up of 3 layers, the best protection there is on the market: the membrane is glued between the inner and outer component layer (hence it being called 3 layers). The membrane is a kind of very thin polyurethane film that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It is protected by a mesh, and has the advantage of being softer, lighter, more durable and often more breathable than a coating.

How to look after your jacket

This jacket has taped seams (to ensure perfect waterproofing) which are vulnerable to machine washing and may peel off over time. We therefore recommend using a sponge and water to clean any marks on the jacket, and to machine wash it as little as possible at 30°C, if you want it to use it for trekking for as long as possible.

Waterproofness test

Waterproofing is measured by a fabric’s resistance to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (JIS 1092 standard)The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The component of this product has a waterproof rating of 25,000 mm, i.e. it can withstand the pressure exerted by a 25,000 mm column of water. This is also equivalent to 25 000 Schmerbers.

Breathability test

Component breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). This is its capacity to let water vapour generated by the body during physical activity escape and therefore avoid water accumulating on the skin. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabricRET ≤ 12: breathable fabricRET ≤ 20: little breathability Our product has a 6 RET rating

How do you restore the water repellent properties of your jacket?

The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.All the steps to restore the water-repellent properties are below: on our website
