Nice bag

Great bag with plenty of space and thanks to the zipper from top to bottom, you can easily find even the things that have disappeared at the bottom.

Practical

Good organization for travel and everyday

Great backpack for the plane too

very successful purchase

A fantastic backpack, extremely roomy, with lots of pockets and compartments. Every thing will have its place in it. As soon as I received it, my partner took it from him and I was forced to buy a second one, I chose a slightly smaller one and I don't part with it anymore :) I recommend it

whether for a busy day or a getaway of a few days, this bag is very suitable and well compartmentalized! neutral and aesthetic design for the city or a hike. only downside if it rains otherwise nothing to complain about!

Hand luggage bag

I purchased the guidebook to use as hand luggage for traveling by plane. The carrier has a strange fastening system, at the pelvis (for my height) it is a black band with a clip at the end..not comfortable to wear for long term. Another problem is the hard-to-access pockets, for most of the internal ones you have to open flaps that run to be able to open the bag entirely...I noticed that because of this I didn't even use most of the pockets. Instead, it's a guide that seems reliable, made of good material and can be made a little bigger. It's ok to take on the plane even with budget companies.

Ultra practical with all its pockets. And very interesting storage capacity

Optimal

Clever, almost perfect

I had to return the gray one I originally bought, but in the meantime I got the olive green/khaki version of the bag and have been using it for a while. + I like that it is quite large and can be folded down with the screw top. The fact that it can be scaled also came in handy when shopping and traveling spontaneously. I drove it small on the plane, but when traveling locally I was able to carry more things in it when I needed to. + The design of the back and straps is comfortable. + The strap intended for pulling a suitcase and the bicycle lamp holder are great! + The many pockets and the fact that there is an outlet from the powerbank for charging the phone and a separate zipper for the laptop are great. + The wallet pocket is a great idea! + It is excellent that there is a cross strap and a belt strap on the chest, which can be hidden when not needed. + Discreet appearance, does not appear large. Even for a business meeting, the gray version goes smoothly. - I can't reach back and take the water bottle out of the bag with one hand. You have to take it half on your shoulders, which is not the real thing on a bicycle. This is the price for a discreet look. - Due to the depth of the pocket intended for the wallet, if the wallet has slipped, it is a bit difficult to retrieve it. - If I want to access the key pocket, I can only do this through two zippers, and when the bag is full, it is sometimes difficult to pull them back. However, it is well hidden when traveling. - When the strap is taken half over the shoulder, it will slide down on the more slippery material (puffy) jacket and on women's shoulders if there is not enough weight in it. - If there are not enough things in it, it happens that the closing hook comes off by itself. Maybe a carabiner would do a better job of locking. - The phone pocket could be one to one and a half centimeters longer. It's a bit difficult to handle the phone with one hand. - I really missed that it didn't have a strap or any strap on the outside where you could hang the hand sanitizer or anything, so I hung a metal triangle in the lower compartment, so now it has two functions. All in all, I love it despite all that. But maybe a next version will be even better thanks to my feedback. :)

Organizers on the outside (and other improvements)

This review is influenced by my previous backpack: NH500 30L Pros - The rolltop with the 2 side zippers is a nice idea. Can be low profile, while still large possible capacity. The closing opening does not require much time (a zipper may be still faster). The top opening of the bag is held together by a piece of velcro. Through the rear zipper, I can take out and put in a 15-inch laptop (17-inch from the top only) - The hip belts have a nice pocket to store, when not used - Using the strap which secures the rolltop part, I can store some stuff on the outside of the pack: coat, t-shirt, or even a roll mat - Two months are not enough to assess the durability, however, it seems that the zippers are similar to my previous backpack, where the zipper pulls of the main compartment held up for 2-3 years each. The rolltop can delay this. And the 10 years of warranty is one of the reasons to shop at Decathlon - The side mesh pockets hold stuff securely Cons In my previous bag, all the compartments were on the outside, hence they could be easily accessed, even if the main compartment was fully packed, here I have to keep everything together, and the inside organization is not enough to help - The placement of the key/pen organizer part is awful. Objects can be caught on the pens that stick out, and it is really difficult to access the pens while the pack is loaded. Even if the pack is not loaded, this organizer part is quite difficult to access, in many cases you will need to open up the side zipper. This part MUST have been put into a smaller exterior compartment. The only reason why the current positioning makes sense is for safety reasons - does not matter who wants to access the organizers, you or a thief, it is difficult - On my previous bag, there were two horizontal compartments on the bottom (to store an umbrella, coat, gloves, rain cover - things that are kept away from side on a daily basis, but can be accessed in a hurry - like it starting to rain) - Only one shoulder strap has a mesh pocket (for various items, barely fits a 6-inch screen smartphone) - On the shoulder straps there are no loops for your hands to rest in or to help carry the bag - No hooks for a water bladder (although the hose can be accessed through the rear zipper) - The wall of the laptop sleeve is too low - The chest strap is too wide, and moves up and down too easily - a shoulder strap/chest strap loosens too easily Overall I think it is a good rolltop bag, however, not a good everyday backpack . I consider this as a downgrade from my previous NH500 30L, which was quite well designed (used it almost everyday for 5 years: school, work, bikepacking trip, hiking, traveling. It is a shame that the zipper started to fail, and the repair was not possible by Decathlon). Correcting the cons, would mean a definite upgrade, but in this current form, I am not sure if I could recommend this rolltop backpack for everyday use

If you want to continue walking/hiking in the rain and protect your belongings, we recommend the following model: “20 to 40 L rain cover”, which can be viewed on our website, item reference 8734213.

Outer dimensions

Height : 50 cm | Width: 28 cm  | Thickness: 25cm. This bag can be used as carry-on luggage when travelling by plane as its dimensions meet the airline requirements (IATA). We recommend that you contact your airline for details of the size and weight restrictions on cabin baggage.

Tested for optimal durability

To ensure the bag is strong enough, we conduct laboratory tests on the components and seams, which replicate the long-term wear and tear that the backpack will endure. For example, for a fabric, we test the resistance to abrasion and tearing, the colour fastness when exposed to UV light and washing, and the waterproofing. We use these tests to guarantee the bags for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase on the receipt.

How to adjust your backpack?

1 - Loosen all the straps, shoulder straps, waist belt and chest belt2 - Put the bag on3 - Buckle the chest strap and adjust its height and width4 - Tighten the shoulder straps (from top to bottom)5 - Buckle and adjust the waist belt6 - Adjust it to your likingIt's all good!

How is volume measured?

The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment, as well as each pocket, with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.

How to fill your backpack?

Place the heavy items, e.g. laptop, picnic, etc., in the bottom and in the spaces provided. Pack your clothes around these items. Put the small belongings that you will use during the day (sun cream, map, sunglasses, etc.) in the pockets. Put the water bottle(s) in the outer pockets on the sides that are made for this purpose.

Product testing

It’s in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc, that our design team conceives, designs and creates Quechua products. We test them in the field with other hikers to make sure that they are comfortable and durable. This backpack has been tested and improved by hikers in different climatic conditions and different environments.
